@ElderGod-Icefire
Nik shook his head slightly. "I don't have anything to say." He replied simply.
Nik shook his head slightly. "I don't have anything to say." He replied simply.
Derlik let out a long sigh.
"I… Fine, then."
He took a deep breath, running his hands through his hair and wondering if or when Derlik would ask about the ex again.
"I'm not going to let it drop, you know," Derlik said calmly.
He glanced up. "Let what drop?" He replied.
"Finding were your ex lives." Derlik wasn't going to let them get away with what they did to Nik.
He frowned. "Why?" He asked, looking away.
"Because. He can't get away with hurting you like that." Derlik let out a breath.
"It doesn't matter." He replied quietly.
"Yes, it does." Derlik looked over at Nik.
He shook his head. "It… really doesn't."
"And why is that?" Derlik let out a breath.
"Because it doesn't." He replied, shaking his head a little.
"Well, it does to be." Derlik raised an eyebrow. Nik was talking in circles.
"So?" He replied, shaking his head a little. "It's just a scar, why do you care?"
"Because, it was someone else marking you." Derlik looked over at Nik, pointing to his wrist and the oh so present mark there.
"That's The only one you should have."
Nik shook his head a little bit, closing his eyes. He rubbed his forehead with a hand, sighing faintly.
Derlik looked up at the sky again.
"I'll keep asking. Over and over. I'm not going to stop until I find out where that bastard is."
(gtg sorry)
Nik sighed. "It's not like you're any different." He said quietly.
(okay, night!)
"Yeah, well… I'm trying, okay?" Derlik spoke softly. "I'm not… Used to playing by the rules."
He shook his head a little bit. "Trying for how long? Until you lose your temper at me again and you decide you'd rather hurt me than keep trying to play by the rules?"
Derlik let out a long, almost defeated breath.
"I have to keep working, I know that, Nik. You have no reason to trust me, or my words. I really don't expect you to. But… I'll keep myself in check. I'm not going to be taking my anger out on you."
Nik shrugged faintly, remembering other times that other men had said they were sorry, they wouldn't hurt him again. And they always had. He shook his head again.
Derlik closed his eyes a moment.
"I'll let my actions speak for me then, when the time comes…"
He shrugged again, not really knowing what to say.
