He closed his eyes, letting out a slow breath.

Twili looked up at Nik, lightly nuzzling against his side a bit with her nose.

He smiled faintly at her, reaching down to run a hand over her fur.

Twili let out a low rumble, leaning into Nik's hand a bit.

He kept petting her gently. Smoke shifted, jumping down to sniff at her curiously.

Twili looked down when Smoke started to sniff at her. She carefully licked his head, making sure she didn't accidently hurt him. She placed her snout so she could sniff him without actually breathing against him, the small kitten even tinier compared to her.

Smoke mewed faintly, cocking his head at her, tail twitching.

Twili seemed to chuckle a bit, nuzzling against Smoke some.

Smoke mewed again, cautiously coming closer.

Twili watched Smoke, tilting her head a bit. She seemed to smile at him, letting him come at his own pace.

Smoke batted at her faintly with a paw, his head tipped to one side.

Twili let out a soft sound- it seemed she wasn't mute in this form. She licked Smoke again once.

Smoke blinked at her, poking at her with his paws again.

Twili tilted her head a moment, then closed her eyes. In a moment, she shifted, still sitting at Nik's feet for comfort. Still, she didn't try to communicate, just letting Nik see she was here to support him.

Nik kept gently running his fingers through her fur, wondering for a moment where Derlik had gone, but not really asking.

Twili leaned her head into Nik's touch a bit, reaching down to pick Smoke up in her arms.

Smoke mewed, snuggling close to her.

Twili smiled just a bit, scratching underneath Smoke's chin.

Smoke purred quietly, half-closing his eyes in contentment.

Twili smiled just slightly. She continued to pet Smoke, looking up at Nik to see how he was doing.

Nik was quiet, shifting a little bit. Smoke purred again, leaning into her hands.

Twili let out a breath, staying seated by Nik's feet. She scratched Smoke lightly, holding him a bit closer to herself.
