(Nah fam, he’d be recognized instantly. It doesn’t matter if he’s the busy(?) boy for the inn, if he’s an experiment and he’s out for all the EF to see, he’s dead. He’d be really dumb to reveal himself around this time of day)

(i didnt remember his name okay? also when i meant he was the busy boy he would have been a normal human and not an experiment,)
(Oooooooohhhhhhhhh ok ok ok whoops sorry. If you want him to be a human with abilities tho, that’s also an option)
(Going halfway?)
The sphinx let loose a howl of agony. She squeezed her eyes shut and lifted her paw, blood erupting from her side and spattering her fur and hair, and a few drops on Arden. She stumbled to the side, her howl turning into pained whimpers.
Don’t hurt me… don’t hurt him. Are you hurt? You don’t remember… Why don’t you remember? Those fiends and their shadow women! How could they? How could they hurt you? They… they hurt me…
Whimpering and panting, the beast looked at the girl through wet, hooded eyes. What happened to us? Why now did I just realize? I’m so… her head swiveled to her injury. I’m hurting again…
She looked back to her, the energy in her body being sapped by the second. Can I not stop you? Am I…. are we going to die?
She tore her face away from malachi as the few droops of blood went onto her face, she got up as the paw was removed and felt the blood reaching down to look at it before looking over and seeing the beast stumble and whimper, as if crying out.
Why could she still understand it?
What was it saying?
Why did it seem so important to her?
Why are you asking why I'm hurt, I just attacked you
How did she know how to communicate with the beast?
Would it even work?
Don't remember what?
Was there something she needed to remember?
I, I'm sorry. She didn't know why she was apologizing. For some reason she felt a great sorrow and the tears started again.
She felt the tears, staining her face with the blood.
She bit her lip, hesitanting.
Her job was to hurt the man, not the beast.
She slowly edged forward towards the beast, "I won't hurt you anymore. You are not my target." She kept her voice cold and monotone.
She got to the beast and put a hand on her, forcing the darkness into her and healing the wound before backing up and turning towards malachi.
She stared at her healed wound for a moment in awe, then looked back, realizing the girl was making her way toward the young male. She pawed at her, as if in protest.
I saw you. You may not remember… that shadow woman took control over your mind. You cried out in anguish. She hurt you. She hurt your mind. They hurt my mind too… I can’t remember…
She panted heavily, and sank to the ground. Rain still poured, if lightly, on her head and fur. Even if the wound was healed, she was still weak.
I mean… you don’t remember that I killed that foreign creature… I brought you to my home, with that youth… she nodded to Malachi. You talked of many strange and familiar things… it was so wonderful… fresh tears sprung in her eyes. Ah, it is pointless to reminisce. Can you hurt him? Those bullets from the past did not puncture him. But I can do nothing. I wish I could do something.
She sighed, walking towards the male.
I do not remember anything of what you speak. She made her way over to malachi pushing past any wierd feelings or hesitation.
She picked him up and threw him at the tree. She walked over and picked him up using him to chop down the tree.
How is he not in pain?
Evan nodded along with the conversation glancing back at Alister at the mention of soulmates before turning back. "Yeah, it's okay we probably shouldn't have been yelling anyway."
Trent sighed, "Yeah, i could tell the storm would only get worse and kinda wish that they didn't send out."
He put a hand to his neck noticing Evan turning to look at Alister before looking back.Ginger boy was around downstairs just sitting on his lonesome.
“Yeah, you really shouldn’t have,” Duchess replied to Evan, taking another sip of gin. “Hey,” she called to Alister. “You can turn around now. Sorry, it’s just your new, and we had that tracking device away from you, and…”
“It’s fine,” Alister sighed turning around. “I’m used to it.”
He’d tried to look for where Noel had gone, but he couldn’t find her. He was itching to look.
Duchess called over some older rebels to guard the door. Alister went over to Evan and Trent, saying, “Please, can we go find Noel? I can go by myself though, if you guys need to talk…”
“Oh, you’re looking for Noel?”
He looked to see Talon walking towards them, his arm in a cast. Alister waved good-naturedly to him. “How long was Bee’s lecture?”
“As long as it needed to be,” Talon laughed, then stopped, his eyes widening at Trent’s ears out in the open. He shrugged, like he didn’t want to question it, then smiled. “Hey guys. Don’t worry, I only jacked up my arm a little bit.” He laughed again.
Arabelle finally sighed, walking over to Keegan. She couldn’t do anything. Why did she think she could?
Then she scolded herself. C’mon, she is doing something. She has a rebellion of 245 strong nearly all in the basement. She’s been doing something for eight, nine years now. But for now, all she needed to do was wait out the storm, both literal and figurative.
She pulled Keegan close, the sounds upstairs quieting. The EF officers met back up. They held a short, gruff conversation before turning to the humans.
”Collins 0721, who is the young male?”
Arabelle swallowed, squeezing Keegan’s shoulder, begging him not to say anything. She tried to keep her voice level.
“This is Reeves 0831, officers.”
They murmured amongst each other, one of them getting out a holographic screen, seeming to look through some files.
”Reeves…”
"You needed it I don't doubt." Trent spoke chucking a little bit at the comment on bees lecture.
"Then again we all probably need one, besides duchess of course." Trent motioned jokingly, making a joke off of her name.
Trent saw talon pause and his eyes widened and Trent's ears out in public and he looked away flustered and embarrassed, he almost put his hat back on.
Evan turned towards Alister. "Yeah we could look around for her with you, I wouldn't go too far thom pretty sure if the aliens caught a glimpse of you they would loose it"
Trent nodded absentmindedly.
Keegan stood there not saying anything and let arabelle do all the talking as they searched his history in there records.
“Oh don’t worry guys,” Talon said, gesturing behind him and pointing to the ceiling. “She’s right-“
“Trent!”
She didn’t yell too loud, as her voice could echo nicely around in the large space and still get someone’s attention. The boys turned their faces upward, and Alister almost slapped himself for not looking up.
Noel stood on the tallest stack of metal crates, nearly ten feet above them, her four arms splayed outward. Her silver eyes blazed, her mahogany braid draped over her shoulder.
“I have officially declared you an idiot. Ali, bring ‘em up here.”
He clapped a hand to his mouth, trying not to guffaw. Wow. Where had all this confidence come from?
Talon wheezed. He nudged Trenton. “Yo, what happened while I was gone?”
The aliens finally seemed satisfied. Though they gave Keegan a strange, hungry stare that Arabelle didn’t like one bit.
”A pleasant evening to you, Collins 0721. We may or may not see you tomorrow.”
She stayed silent, fighting the urge to spit at their splayed, scaly feet.
Once they were gone, Arabelle looked down at him. “You did good today. Now, I’m going to manage things in the basement. Take this,” she handed him an electronic sphere. “And tell me if Ju, August, or Vix calls, alright? If they do, just tell them what I’m doing, and give me a full account of their report. Now, you better see if your family isn’t too shaken up.”
She sighed, walking towards the male.

The beast made a movement like a shrug. She’d whimpered as she saw Malachi’s body being thrown around, and summoned the strength to get up and push Arden away from his body. She stood over him, her striped legs almost like pillars. She bent her head, looking over his previous wounds. His face was covered with blood by now.
The youth may not be in pain, but he is still hurt. I will not let you make his body into a toy while these other injuries consume him.

"I don't k n o w." He looked up at noel before sighing his ears spiked p in alert and in a bit of panic. He looked at the boys and looped his arm around Talon's nonbroken arm. "If I'm coming then your coming too, tp buddy" He dragged Talon up to where Noel was and got on the crates a bit flustered about his ears being shown still.
Evan laughed a bit as well, "Tp buddies?"
She sighed, walking towards the male.

I really don't want to hurt you. she sighed, although she had no idea why she didn't. it just felt wrong to hurt her and leave her to die.
The man she felt didn't give her that feeling.
She wasn't even supposed to feeling anything.
she sat down. "I guess i don't have to do much else to him, they only said hurt him not kill him."
She looked up. Why?
For the first time in a long time, she began to sing the song again, low and soft at first. It calmed her.

He stood there nervously as the aliens set their eyes on him with that hungry look that made him shiver a little bit.
He waited till they were gone to speak, he exhaled turning to Arabelle and taking the sphere from her. he nodded, "I will." he smiled weakly at her, before going towards the stairs to find his family. his sister.
He slowly pushed open the door and walked over to her. "Hey sis, You okay?" he sat down on the bed next to her.
"Yeah..I'm fine. Are you? i mean you had to be with Arabelle, must have been tough."
she leaned against him her head on his shoulder, her ginger curls spilling over onto him.
"Hey im tough i could probably take those aliens if they tried to do anything." he puffed out his chest before his sister laughed a little bit.
"You? tough? oh yes your such a big strong man." she poked his skinny toothpick arms.
He laughed a little bit as well letting go of his puffed-out chest.
"Hey you doubt me now but toothpicks are sharp, and they can poke people's eyes out."
"well you've definitely been hanging around the fighters too much, your actually considering fighting."she poked his cheek. "i thought you were just gonna be Ara's busy boy?"
"Well yeah i am, but i wanna do more. i feel like im not helping enough i guess."
she sighed.
"You are Kee, you are. trust me, just please don't join any raiding squads? i cant loose you like we lost mom and dad."
he sighed as well. "Okay sis."
She looked up. Why?
For the first time in a long time, she began to sing the song again, low and soft at first. It calmed her.
i don't know, it just feels wrong to hurt you i have no idea why that is she sighed, laying down, the music calmed her just a tad but she held back from yawning.
She shook her head. No, no, why did they only say to hurt him? Her song kept her from panicking too much, but her muscles tensed, poised to run.
Alister raised an arm to them, about to remind them that Trenton literally slapped Evan and that he was supposed to bring them up there, but he lowered it and sighed.
“TP buddies!” Talon laughed as he was being dragged. “Talon Pierce, yours truly, and Trenton Pike!”
It took a moment before Alister got it. “… oh, the initials?” Then he sighed again, turning to Evan.
“I can see why they were arrested.” He flicked his wrist in Evan’s direction, air swirling around him and lifting him out of the wheelchair. Then, blushing slightly, he guided Evan onto his shoulders, almost like a piggyback, allowing air to lift him up as well. Then his eyes widened.
“Wow, it would’ve been so much easier to carry you this way while you were unconscious!” He tried to keep his voice low so no one would overhear. Then he flew to the top of the crates.
She shook her head. No, no, why did they only say to hurt him? Her song kept her from panicking too much, but her muscles tensed, poised to run.
Hell if I know the song started to make her feel tired as she laid down.
He chuckled a little at that statement.
"How did you even carry me while I was unconscious?" He leaned on Alister's head a little bit but not so much it would be too much pressure. He was blushing too but he was enjoying the shoulder piggy back ride he was getting.
"Yeah! Tp buddies!" He yelled as they made it to the top with noel.
“That’s a story for another time,” Alister chuckled. When they landed, he used air to lift Evan off his shoulders, setting him on the mat Noel had draped over the crate. Even if their trip was short, he was still pretty heavy.
Noel smirked with amusement in their direction, nodding in acknowledgement, but she turned to Trent, the smirk dropping.
“Thanks for slapping my friend and brother’s soulmate, Pike. Now you get my fist.” She punched him in the gut.
He let out a "oof!" And put his arms around his stomach as the wind was knocked from his lungs and he went down on one knee, and then you know laying down on the ground and holding his stomach in pain.
He rasped out "I deserved that..'
Evan winced as trent went down on his side on the matt. "Ouch."
“Trent, you slapped Evan? And you guys-“ Talon looked between him and Alister, eyes wide. “You’re soulmates? Dang Trent, that’s low…”
Noel kneeled, setting a hand on his shoulder. “Don’t worry Trent, I don’t hate you. I just hate you right now. Now, if everyone could get off this stack of crates and leave me alone, that would be great.”
Alister stepped toward her. “Aww El, we just got here…”
She sighed. “I know. Sorry you had to see that. But I’ve got more pressing matters to think about. Could you just take everyone to the bottom of this stack and stay there? I’m gonna call everyone from ‘6 over here in a few minutes.”
He gave her a small side hug, which she begrudgingly accepted. “Sure.”
