"i guess it could be nice to know my name sure but how would you even find it?"
she looked away still keeping the hand on her neck.
"Im….." she knitted her eyebrows together. "Ugggghhhh i don't know what I'm doing, if i go back they could reprimand me, put me back in that gosh-awful chair and maybe even whip me for disobedience. if i brought you back then i would get a less severe punishment but i doubt you'd let me take you back and it doesn't seem right to take you back or go back but i don't know where else to really go because everything feels so weird-" she sighed covering face with her hands seemingly overwhelmed.
(I wrote something but I accidentally deleted it T-T)
Trent put a hand to his neck and looked away from noel. "Ah, they put them on my head I don't know how…but they are there and they work I can move them and everything. I also have some wolf fangs…all I know is once they finished destroying my ears and I passed out and woke up with these." He moved the ears wiggling them around on his head.
He gave talon a pat pat. "Good luck dude hope it's not something too serious." He then turned to Evan.
"well since I'm still here you wanna talk to meet about what happened while you were there?"
Evan turned to look at Trent.
"I mean I can try, I hit my head on the wall and everything was mostly blurry after that." He smiled softly chuckling awkwardly.
"Nah it's okay, if you don't want to it's fine."
Evan smiled at Trent.
"Thanks."
“You only answered two of my questions,” Noel pouted. But she perked up. “Ohh you have wolf fangs? Yeah, I can kinda see them when you talk.”
“Um,” Alister shifted nervously. “Do you… do you trust me?”
It had occurred to him that Trent may have excluded him because he’d only gotten here yesterday. He may have looked suspicious to him.
Bimala blinked, thinking a moment. “Well yes, but that’s just what I do. And Duchess searched you when you got here, and you don’t seem in a hurry to go anywhere.”
“Well, my sister wouldn’t let me leave…” he murmured.
She laughed. “Well, I consider that a good thing.”
“Yo Ms. Miller- aaah…” Talon accidentally raised his arm as he entered the hospital, causing him to moan with pain. He lowered it as they turned to him. He spoke again, his voice cracking. “Guess what, I lied. My arm’s probably seriously jacked up.”
Bimala nearly looked like she was going to slam her fists down. “I knew it!”
She went over to him, grabbing his good arm and dragging him over to a white hospital bench near the opposite wall. Alister chuckled as he watched. It seemed like Talon visited the hospital often.

“No,” Malachi attempted a smile. “I wouldn’t let you take me back.” Then he took a small breath, pulling his legs up and resting his arms on his knees. “I know a guy. They would be able to find your name.”
The storm was starting to let up slightly, but it was getting dark. Through the trees, Malachi could see the orange-yellow glint of the sunset as it transitioned to a dull green merging with the clumpy teal-grey shadows of the weeping clouds.
Trent put a hand to his neck and looked away from noel. "Ah, they put them on my head I don't know how…but they are there and they work I can move them and everything. "Yeah?" he turned to noel and gave a toothy grin at her.
Evan was absent minded lost in thought and wondering about alister.
Noel giggled; the way his canines layered over his other teeth in his grin made him look both goofy and subtly terrifying. Then her mind turned to her brother as well.
Her expression relaxed. “You think Alister can come in here now? Oh- wait.”
She reached up on her tip toes, rubbing the wolf ears. They were soft, but stiff with skin and fur… or hair. Whatever you called it.
“Guys, it’s almost curfew, if you’re not staying, then you need to leave.”
Arabelle sat one of the tables, anxiously waiting for the search party. The storm was getting bad, and they still hadn’t come back yet. She could feeling flowers growing on her shoulder underneath her shirt.
The volume in the lobby rose slightly as those from ‘7 and some from ‘6 got up and hurried out the door. Thunder rolled, and a few seconds later, a flash of lightning.
She looked back to see who was left. “How many of you are fugitives or have criminal records?”
A little over half of them raised their hands or murmured. She got off the table, standing and flipping her golden locks around her shoulders. “Then follow me.”
“I mean, I’m the leader of a rebellion,” Malachi shrugged. “Gotta make some connections.”
He lifted his feet and rotated his body so that his back was to the storm. But he found that he couldn’t see very well, so he turned back around and scooted backward. But it wasn’t very light there either, so he scooted back up and sighed.
”C'est trop sombre.”
He’ll have to plan in the morning.
She uncovered her face with a sigh, shoving them in non-existent pockets. Instead, her hands just laid at her side, uncomfortable but it was manageable.
She watched as the storm still wouldn't allow seeing anything, she wanted to go out into the storm.
it feels almost as if something was calling her out into it.
She looked out into the storm but didnt move towards it in anyway.

he grinned at her giggling, even though Trent always got embarrassed when people touched his ears but it also felt good so if he had a tail it would be wagging.
"You like what you feel?" he joked, smiling at her.
that brought Evan from his thoughts because what it sounded like to him was someone that was four years older than noel was trying to flirt with her, and he thought of noel like a little sister so haha protective. He stared down trent.
"Wanna rephrase that?" he asked, and trent sweat just a bit.
"You know i didnt mean anything by it Evan."
"Good."
She crossed her arms, a little put off. She knew Evan was being protective of her, but she wasn’t entirely sure why. She silently rolled her eyes, her mind going elsewhere.
“Guys, calm down. Trent, put your hat on. I’m going to-“
But a vibration in her pocket cut her off. She pulled out a small electronic orb and tapped it, her darker skinned arms still crossed. A holographic screen projected in front of her, showing Arabelle’s stern, glowing blue face.
“Storm, it’s almost curfew. Where are those boys who got arrested? I saw them go upstairs.“
“Curfew? Oh no- Um, two are here with me, one of them went to the infirmary.” (I thought infirmary was a better term)
“Okay. Please take them-“
“Yeah yeah, I got it. We’ll talk when we get down there?”
“Great idea. I’ll need to be up there for a while, though.”
“Yeah yeah, that’s fine. Sorry, I lost track of time.”
“Happens to me too, hon. Don’t worry about it.” She hung up, the holographic screen projecting back into the orb.
Curfew meant a few things. First, that people had to get off the streets and into their homes by a certain time at the end of the day, or else Extraterrestrial Forces will either kill them, or kidnap them and take them somewhere. A good chunk of those people are usually criminals, fugitives, or escaped laborers or experiments who don’t have anywhere to go. But for those who do, curfew also means that Extraterrestrial Forces come to inspect certain buildings or establishments to see if they are hiding them.
The sound of many footsteps and doors opening and closing drifted into the room. People were wisely retiring for the evening.
“Change of plans,” Noel turned to the boys, putting her orb in her pocket. “We’re going to the basement.”
She went and opened the door. Her heart sank when she didn’t see her brother nearby, but she could only hope he knew what was going on.
She uncovered her face with a sigh, shoving them in non-existent pockets. Instead, her hands just laid at her side, uncomfortable but it was manageable.

Malachi looked back. The creature was still asleep. He wondered if they should sleep too, but he wasn’t feeling very tired. Just physically tired though, like he didn’t want to get up and walk around.
He was starting to feel awkward, like he should keep talking, but he didn’t want to talk either. As the seconds passed, he became more and more uncomfortable until he noticed Arden’s focused gaze on the storm.
“Can you see something?” He asked.
"No, i-" she stopped short when she saw some sort of movement in the trees, almost like a passing shadow. she frowned at the sudden movement as the shadow disappeared.
"You should get some sleep.," she said without looking at him. "You'll need it." she spoke still having a focused gaze on the woods. She was going to go out and see what it was as soon as he was asleep, that feeling was still crawling on her skin making her feel weird. she resisted the urge to scratch at it.
Malachi thought he saw something as well, but he wondered if his head was messing with him. It wouldn’t be the first time.
He scoffed. “Funny how you think you can tell me what to do,” he said, reaching up and untying his bun and letting the braids fall around his shoulders. He wouldn’t need them tied up right now. He kept his eye on the trees, but his mind wandered. Did he need sleep? Hmm, how long would a six-mile walk take? If humans run at two miles an hour, then it would take around three hours. But they certainly wouldn’t be running. But he couldn’t remember how fast a tiger could run….
In any case, he wasn’t tired, and he wouldn’t be sleeping anytime soon.
"Humans need sleep to function idiot." she huffed at him her arms still crossed. "Yes i am aware im human too, but i dont plan on sleeping." She continued to stare out into the storm.
"Now go sleep." She huffed at him once more getting impaitent.
“Well I got plenty of sleep recently, if you haven’t noticed,” he said, snapping out of his thoughts and staring at her with a cross between intense amusement and incredulousness.
“What do you see?” He asked again.
"i saw a shadow, that's it." she bit her lip before hesitating and then voiding behind him and trying to knock him out.
(heheheheheehheehehehe)
“And could you tell what the shadow looked like?” He could feel his mind being pulled into two different directions. One was in the here and now, think about that shadow. The other was drifting to how the other rebels were doing, how they were fairing without him. He slowly became aware that the girl was gone. Where did she go…?
she repeatedly tried to knock him out sweating a bit more when it didnt work bc he might get sus but she was really just super impaitent and was about ready to just straight up leave and go into the forest and leave him there to think to himself..
(Knock him out, knock him out, knock him out, knock him out-)
(its up to you wther or not it works)
(Oh sorry I thought she couldn’t bring herself to do it or something-)
(oh dang that is actually a good idea)
(he should turn around and like be in the middle of asking her what and then she knocks him out mid sentence)
