There was another and then a small voice at the door.
"My king, breakfast is prepared." said the voice, squeaking just a bit with the rushed words.
Sitting up, Reene crawled from the bed and opened the door. "Break-fast?"

Rumius curled his hands up into fists and rolled over into his other shoulder, cradling another pillow close to his chest. He continued snoring.
One of the two people looked up, blushing. They looked like little elves, with pointy little ears and huge eyes. They were dressed nicely with thick, healthy skin.
"Hello, my lady!" Peeped the first, his eyes wide.
A smile bloomed on Reene's lips as she looked down at the two, the smaller of them tucked behind the larger, on hand on his clothes and the other on the large cart behind them. He smiled as well.
"Oh, greetings." She cooed to them.
The elf bowed and scampered out of the way of the cart, flicking his black hair out of his huge eyes.
"Greetings. We have brought breakfast," The bigger elf said, pointing to the cart,
"Break-fast….um, thank you. King Rumius is still in slumber at the time." She told them, stepping aside so they could come in.
The bigger elf poked his head in, then retracted. "Oh, okay. He usually wakes up at this time, but we'll come back later." The little elf bowed neatly and lead the way back to their kitchen.
Following after his friend, the smaller elf wved goodbye to Reene with small hands. She waved back, closing the door behind them.
"Rumius." She whispered, returning to the bed. "Rumius, little people brought us break-fast."
Rumius didn't stir from his sleep. He was a very heavy sleeper, especially after a night with the Gods. They sent him into a deep sleep he never wanted to wake up from. Plus, her whispers were drowned out by his somewhat louder snores.
Reene persisted. "Rumius." She prodded him, calling his name. "Awake from slumber now, please." She said, shaking his arm. "Why do you make so much noise when you sleep?" She grumbled.
Rumius stirred when his arm was shaken off of his pillow, tiredly raising his head. His eyes were still half-closed and unhappy.
"Mmm… what? Make so much noise?" He repeated, slowly laying down again.

"My king…" She tried once more, taking his arm and pulling him up as he laid down once more. "No, please! No more slumbering! It is time to awake! The sun is out!" She told him. "Arise!"
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhh," Rumius complained loudly as he was tugged on. "No, my lady, I will sleep. I'm tired…" He shook her off gently, grabbing her in his arms slowly and pulling her in for a hug,
"But the little people! And the break-fast they had brought you!" She wiggled out of his arms and stumbled from the bed. "Why must you slumber for so long?" She whined. "What is it's appeal after your strength is regained?" she asked.
Rumius opened an eye to make sure she didn't trip and fall, though he stirred a little off of the bed with a sigh.
"Sleep is a nice escape, my Grantress. I truly suggest you try some more of it. You will quite enjoy it."
"And what do I need escape from?" Reene asked as she regained her balance. "What do you need escape from?" Her dark eyes filled with curiosity as she looked on Rumius. "Help me understand."
Rumius sighed softly and turned onto his shoulder to look at her better. "My Wish Granter, it's hard being a hated King." He sighed deeply again.
Reene sat silently for a moment.
"Why are you hated?" She asked. It was the only thing that came to mind as she tried to understand Rumius and his need for escape.
"Because my father was a cruel and nasty man. My people are afraid that I am the same way. They are scared of me, though I've only done things to help them recover from the bloodshed." He sighed slowly and shut his eyes. "Of course, at no avail."
"Oh…." She said simply. What else was there to say? She couldn't think of anything more. Except….
"Should I call the little-people back?" She asked him. She no longer desired to know of Rumius's life, least of all his father.
"If you would like something to eat," The king answered, turning his back on her to try and get comfortable again. "You should try our food. Stay nourished and healthy. My elves will keep you nice and taken care of as I sleep, alright?"
"Elves?" She piped. "The little people are called elves?" Understanding filled her eyes and she smiled like a proud little kid with new knowledge. "Elves…" She tried the word again and giggled with joy.
"How do I call them back?"
"You call them by their names. Which are Yuri and Uoim. You gotta say it real loud, or they won't hear you," Rumius instructed from where he was dozing off lightly, yawning wide.
