He flinched a little.
He flinched a little.
Her eyes widened in horror. "A-Alex..?"
He looked away. "More than once…"
She stayed silent for a moment, unsure how to respond. She wanted to hug him, but didn't think it was appropriate. She wanted to ask more about it, but didn't think that was appropriate either. For the first time, she was genuinely lost for words to say.
He actually started crying this time.
She hesitantly put her arms around him, reaching up to stroke the back of his head, praying that she wasn't making things worse in doing so.
He hugged her tightly. He didn't know what to do.
"Just let it all out." she whispered, hugging him tighter.
"W-Why does it hurt…"
"Why does what hurt?" she asked, not fully understanding what he meant.
"Why does crying hurt…Like my heart is breaking…"
(Wow I'm having war flashbacks..)
"It just means that you've been holding it in for too long. It hurts because the emotion is real, because the cause of you crying is strong and has affected you harder than most things would. Let it all out, I know it hurts, but it's better than keeping it in."
(Oof. Sorry…)
"…" He started shaking badly.
(It's cool, I'm a tough cookie anyways ;))
"Alex trust me, just let all your pain and sadness out. Once everything is out you will start to feel calmer and you'll be able to focus better."
He started balling. "I-I hate him."
"I know.." She muttered and continued to stroke the back of his head. "Come on, there's more to it than that."
"I-I never wanted to be amy (the most wonderful woman in the world)…amy (the most wonderful woman in the world) shouldn't have existed…"
"You were never amy (the most wonderful woman in the world), amy (the most wonderful woman in the world) didn't exist. Only you, Alexander. It has been you from day one, you just needed a little help realising it." She hugged him tighter.
"…I-I…" he looked up her and wiped his face. "Thanks…"
"You're welcome, do you feel any better?" she asked, forcing a smile.
He nods. "A-A little…" He looked at her. "Now you're faking it…"
She shook her head, smiling a little more genuinely. "It just hurts to see you upset like that, you should never have to feel that pain."
"..I guess…'
"Never mind 'I guess'." She looked Alex in the eyes firmly. "You do not deserve the pain you feel, and no one has the right to make you hurt that way. Understand?"
He nods slightly. "U-Understood…"
