"Whatever's happening, what if they have proof that you can't argue with? Will you still not leave?"
"Whatever's happening, what if they have proof that you can't argue with? Will you still not leave?"
"It is not work related, Eli. It is a more personal issue."
he rubbed his chin, sighing. "Will you be alright?"
"I will be just fine, do not worry."
He looked up at her, frowning. "Why don't you want to tell me?"
((Imao i'm under a tornado warning
((That's cool and terrifying at the same time. Sorry I've been offline, I'm at my grandmother's, and she has spotty wifi. Plus, my family really only sees each other on these scheduled days.
"Because you should not have to worry about my issues. They are mine to face or ignore."
His frowned deepened, but he said nothing. Does she not trust me or something?
She studied him, and sighed. "It is….complicated. And I am not quite sure you would understand why any of it has happened."
"No, it's fine." He closed his eyes again.
She closed her own eyes and leaned her head back, continuing to run her fingers through his hair as she tried to still her thoughts.
He slowly began to doze off, leaning his head against her hand as he did so
She wasn't used to sleeping this late in the day, which blended perfectly with her refusal to fall asleep while the girls were awake. The only problem was her phone, which seemed to be trying guilt her into replying.
Jaiden waddled over and lightly touched Eli's face, making little "dvoom!" noises every time she poked him.
"He's sleeping, love." Manon said, shaking her head with a smile.
Her mouth formed a little 'O' of concern, pulling her hand away and moving back a few steps.
"He's just sleepy. After a nap, he should be fine." She said comfortingly.
"Oooh," she said, smiling as she walked back to her dolls. They could here Emma playing upstairs.
She watched her walk away with a fond smile. It was unexpected, but these kids had wormed their way into her heart, along with their guardian and older brother.
On cue, he mumbled in his sleep, rolling over onto his side.
She looked down at him, her smile soft and fond, and just a bit sad. I really should tell him…
Emma came walking down the stairs. "Have you two kissed yet?"
"We have not." She said, her cheeks turning pink as she looked up.
"Why not?"
"We haven't been dating too long, and we haven't had time."
