"It is like you have some sort of hive mind." She quipped jokingly as she seasoned the eggs, and finished cooking them.

He grabbed four plates from the cupboard and set them down on the counter.
She scraped the eggs onto the plates, one of them with a bit less than the others, which she took for herself. "There!"
He walked over to a tiny table in the living room with only two chairs, setting two of the plates there before grabbing 4 forks. He set two on that table, and offered one to Manon.
She took it with a smile. "Thank you."
"Of course." He sat down on the couch, chowing down.
Manon sat on the arm of the couch, eating slowly. She closed her eyes, smiling at something.
((If I drop off the face of the earth, it's cos I fell asleep lmao. It's almost one am here.
((Almost 4 here
"Thanks, by the way," he said, scooting closer to where she sat. "I have to admit, this is better than crunchy eggs."
She was startled out of whatever she was thinking, and after her brain caught up she smiled. "It is nothing. My eggs will never be better than those of the woman who taught me though. Brilliant woman, in the kitchen and out."
He shrugged, taking another bite. "What were you thinking of?"
"You, actually." She looked down at him. "Just…everything that has happened since I first met you, and….I was thinking about how nice this is. Here with you, and Emma and Jaiden."
"Yeah, it's been amazing. For the most part, at least." He smiled. "I've had to crane my neck a little more than usual, but I think it's been worth it."
((These two are perfect for each other oml
That made her laugh, covering her mouth with her free hand out of habit. "I am fairly tall, no?"
"You're about as tall as me without your heels, but with them, it's like holding hands with the Statue of Liberty."
"They are only six inches! Plus, I had quite the crush on your Statue of Liberty when I was a child."
He tilted his head, smiling. "Are you sure you're using that word correctly?"
"Crush? Well, I would hope so, considering I had to look it up in the American dictionary almost every day when I first came over France." She pulled a face, scrunching her face up funnily. "Teens overuse it too often."
"So…you wanted to date the Statue of Liberty?"
"I was a child Eli. I also wanted to date movie stars three times my age. I had no concept of how romance actually worked." She said defensively.
He started laughing, nearly choking on the words. "What a change of taste from then to now."
"I have to say, you are a much better choice than a thirty foot statue made of copper." She said, rubbing the back of her neck in a show of slight embarrassment.
"I would hope so." He ate the last bite and put the plate aside.
"Oh, is my phone still on the couch? I believe I left it here, and I really should let Renee know I'm busy today."
