Gray kissed her on the top of her head, breathing her in lightly. He tightened his hold on her, nuzzling her neck. “You are wondrous, Vy.”
Gray kissed her on the top of her head, breathing her in lightly. He tightened his hold on her, nuzzling her neck. “You are wondrous, Vy.”
Violeta closed her eyes for a moment, exhaling a soft but steady sigh. A few seconds passed, and her fingers began to move again, drawing a beautiful melody from the instrument.
Gray closed his eyes, resting his head on hers as he listened attentively, feeling himself getting lost to the music she was producing.
The song was about solidarity between strangers, silent understanding——sympathy. Violeta sang quietly, hoarsely, but she was much more comfortable with her anchor beside her.
Gray rubbed circles on her shoulder, listening quietly to his girlfriend as she sang. Though her voice was hoarse, he still loved the sound of it.
Her voice trickled out, quieting until silence filled the space between them. After a brief moment, she coughed awkwardly. “Was I bad?”
“No, absolutely not,” Gray responded, pecking her on the cheek. “You know, I’d be very happy if you played for me again.”
"Maybe some time when I don't sound like I just threw up," Violeta joked weakly, pressing unconsciously against him. "Do you play? Or sing?"
“If you call causing people to go deaf, Vy, then yes, I can sing,” Gray joked, tightening his hold on her. “I cannot music for my life.”
Violeta chuckled hoarsely, setting the instrument aside so she could properly embrace him. "What about karaoke? Would you do that with me?"
Gray wrapped both arms around her and pulled her further into him. “I could certainly try,” Gray chuckled. “But trust me, you’ll regret it. I have an awful singing voice.”
Violeta pushed her face into his shoulder, smiling faintly. “We’ll see.”
“We’ll see,” Gray chuckled, pulling her into his lap so she sat sideways. “You look tired. You should sleep. I’ll be here.”
“I shouldn’t fall asleep while you’re here….” Violeta protested this softly, reaching up to run a hand through his hair. “It’s not fair to you.”
Gray closed his eyes, leaning into her touch. “It’s fine, love,” he insisted. “I want you to sleep.”
Violeta’s eyes flickered almost unconsciously to his mouth. “And you?” she murmured in question. “Will you sleep?”
Gray hummed, massaging her scalp lightly, noticing the way she looked at his mouth. “I’ll sleep once you do,” he answered, kissing her on the forehead.
“Are you comfortable sleeping in what you’re wearing right now?” Her fingers curled around the neckline of his hoodie. “And, would you let me wear your sweater?”
"I mean, it is going to be a bit uncomfortable, but I'll be fine," Gray shrugged before smirking down at her. "You only need to ask, love."
Violeta hid her face against his chest, cheeks burning. That smirk…. “I’ll go put on some pyjamas, then.” She tugged lightly at the sweater while she spoke, prompting him to take it off.
Gray grinned and sat up straight, lightly pushing his girlfriend away so he could take it off. Once it was off, he pressed it into her hands. "Here you go."
Violeta mumbled a flustered thanks and grabbed her pyjamas before disappearing into the bathroom. She stood behind the closed door for a few minutes, heart pattering weakly.
Gray leaned back against the bed, exhaling deeply. God, his girlfriend was going to be the death of him.
Violeta emerged a few minutes later, tugging the bottom of her Gray’s sweater over her flannel pyjama pants. Shy, she padded back to the bed.
When the door opened, Gray looked up and saw his shy girlfriend walk towards him. He grinned, his heart fluttering at how adorable she looked in his sweater.
“You look absolutely adorable,” he pulled her towards him. “Especially in that sweater.”
