(Oof… Okay.)
(Oof… Okay.)
Lucas looked at the bowl of ice cream with her and smirked.
"No chocolate syrup, sweetheart?" he teased, pinching her nose lightly.
Ashley stuck her tongue out at him and pulled the bowl up closer to her mouth.
“We’re all out,” she mumbled.
Lucas laughed, bumping their noses together.
“Let’s watch The Incredibles 2,” he suggested. “I absolutely adore Jack Jack.”
“Sounds good. I liked that movie,” Ashley mused, kissing his cheek before lifting a spoonful of ice cream to her mouth.
“I do, too,” Lucas murmured as he played the movie before pulled Ashley closer.
Ashley took another bite of ice cream before leaning over to nuzzle his neck lightly. She smiled a little, glad to simply be spending time with the man she would soon get to call her husband.
“Speaking of which…” Lucas murmured. “When do you want to get married?”
“Today,” Ashley half joked with a small chuckle. “Um… Maybe a couple months after I have the baby? Unless you’re okay with having a bride with a big belly.”
Lucas snorted, nuzzling her neck gently.
“Of course I’ll be okay with it,” he rolled his eyes. “You’d be beautiful to be no matter what.”
Ashley hummed around a mouthful of dessert. “Then… What about in, like, five months…? I know it’s kind of soon, but…”
Lucas responded by kissing her on the neck.
“Five months it is,” he murmured. “I’ll, of course, help you plan.”
“Stop that,” Ashley mumbled, reaching over to poke him in the cheek. “Date?”
Lucas kissed her neck again.
“Why should I?” He said with a chuckle. “And… since it’s November now… in the beginning of May, maybe?”
"Because I'm trying to enjoy my ice cream, and you're making it very difficult," Ashley huffed, scooting away from him slightly. "If we have it in May, then I'll be almost nine months pregnant, Luca…"
Lucas pulled her back, laughing.
"Okay, I won't do it again. For now," he promised before pulling a serious face. "Then in March? During our spring break?"
Ashley smiled a little and relaxed back into his arms. "Sounds perfect. A spring wedding and a summer baby… We're like a romance movie," she joke with a chuckle.
Lucas scoffed, trying to hide his laughter, shaking his head. "Tell me about it. Hell, everything about us screams 'romantic movie'."
"Definitely. Especially living together in California," Ashley agreed with a slight giggle. "We're just one real life rom com."
“But unlike the movies,” Lucas snuggled closer to her. “This is reality.”
"Yes, it is… And it's a pretty amazing one, at that," Ashley agreed softly, kissing his cheek.
“We’re going to be married soon, and we’re going to have a child,” Lucas murmured, rubbing their cheeks together. “This is perfect.”
Ashley smiled softly and let her eyes fall shut. He was so good to her… "You're amazing, Lucas. Have I told you that recently?"
“Every day,” Lucas replied, tightening his hold on her. “I’m glad I am. I want you to be happy. Nothing else matters to me.”
"As long as you're still following your dreams, babe," Ashley murmured, turning to rest her lips against his cheek.
