“Your baby’s going to be fine for a week, love,” Lucas laughed, shaking his head. “Besides, you won’t get to miss it. After all, we’ll be spending time with our Eden and Sterling, and our parents. Mom told me Eden and Sterling would arrive a little late.”
(Lol. That’s okay! It’s a good thing I bumped it, then!)
(Yes. :o)
Ashley sighed dramatically and leaned heavily on Lucas’s arm. “Fine, fine… Why are they arriving late, though?”
Lucas laughed and pressed a kiss on her forehead.
“I don’t know. She didn’t say. I think they’ve got a later flight,” he answered, linking their fingers together.
“Ah, okay. I guess that makes sense,” Ashley mused. She smiled up at him softly. “Shall we go?”
(Are we going to continue this in the other RP?)
Within twenty minutes, the couple was inside the airport and checking themselves in. They’d put in their suitcases and were boarding the plane ten minutes later.
“You have the window seat,” Lucas said to Ashley, stepping aside to let her through. “And I’ll make sure the baby knows what we’re seeing.”
(Sure~!)
Ashley chuckled softly and slid into her seat. “Are you going to tell the baby what we’re seeing? Just speaking to my stomach?”
Lucas nodded, sitting down on his seat as well.
“Of course I am,” he said like it was obvious. “Don’t you know? The baby hears everything. That’s why it can recognize voices—especially its mother’s. The more you talk to it, the better.”
“I do talk to her, babe,” Ashley chuckled softly. Yes, she used her, and no, they didn’t find out the gender yet. It was too early, right now. Call it a mother’s intuition, but she thought it was a girl. “You just don’t happen to be there most of the time.”
Luca looked offended.
“You talk to the child without me?” He glared. “Well, this whole plane ride, you aren’t going to talk with anyone but me. Because I’m going to converse with my baby.”
“Which one?” Ashley jokingly asked with a chuckle. “The baby baby, or your fiancée?”
Lucas laughed.
“This baby,” he poked her stomach with his finger. “But if the fiancée baby wants some attention, she’s welcome to ask for it.”
Ashley crinkled her nose at him playfully, leaning forward to gently peck his lips. “The fiancée baby is fine with her fiancé giving their baby attention. As long as she gets some later.”
Lucas grinned, pressing their lips tighter for a short kiss.
“Oh, she definitely will,” Lucas promised. “She most certainly will!”
“Good,” Ashley said with a soft laugh as she leaned her head on his shoulder. “How long is this flight again?”
“Four hours at most,” Lucas replied, fasting his seatbelt carefully as to not disturb Ashley.
“Hm… Okay. I might take a nap, then. I’m tired,” Ashley said with a small yawn. “Turns out, growing something inside of you that ends up being about the size of a watermelon is exhausting…”
Lucas wrapped an arm around her shoulders, kissing the top of her head softly.
“Sleep, my angel,” he murmured. “And I’ll talk to our peanut. Once it grows big, I’ll call it a watermelon.”
(Lol, Lucas. I skipped to the other RP.)
(I noticed. XD)
(They're home! We can continue this now! 😄)
(Yay!)
Lucas was tired the second they got home. He didn’t even find the energy to change, but once he did, he flopped on the bed, waiting for his fiancée to join him.
Ashley put on a loose tshirt and sweatpants before climbing in bed with Lucas. She snuggled into him, covering her mouth as she yawned sleepily.
"It's so nice to be home," she murmured, wrapping her arms around him. She was glad she wasn't very far along in her pregnancy… What would she do when she couldn't cuddle him like this?
