Clara nodded her head and shifts, leaning against the wall with a small smirk. “Ah. Ok then.” She then fell silent for a few moments before glancing over to Alexis. “Are you two together together?” SHe asked softly
Charity paused, glancing up at him before taking a small breath. She tried to remember back to her history class. “You…a few diamonds had fallen in the dirt outside the house and the lights caught the shine”
Alexis stayed quiet before the question itself registered into her brain. "What? No! we barely even know each other," She exclaimed as she got a bit flustered. She sat down on the ground and crossed her arms. "That's….ridiculous.."
His eyes widened. If that day was today, then he could avoid it, by just leaving with Clara and a good amount of their stolen treasures. But before he could do anything, he had to know if the book had dated the day they were caught, or something important. "And…was this anytime soon? Was there a date in the book or something?"
Clara chuckles softly, holding her hands up but not saying anything else as she shifts, rolling her shoulders and looking through a few of the gems, before pausing and holding a ring out to Alexis. “For you can remember today” she smiles
She glanced up at him, pausing before looking back down. “Uhm…December 4th” she whispered softly, glancing up at him. “I don’t know if I should say anything else…” she whispered
Alexis gasps softly as she carefully takes the ring out of Clara's hands. She inspected the ring and then smiled at Clara. "It's….beautiful…thank you." She says as she gives Clara a hug. If someone told her earlier in her life, that she'd go back in time and help two of the most notorious people in history, she wouldn't have believed it.
Ten looked at a calendar that was taped to the wall. He put his finger on the week they were and went down. His eyes widened realized that December 4th was closer than he thought. He sighed and started making a plan in his head to escape their fate. "Thank you for telling me this. Now, I guess I can enjoy the last week of my life." He said with a weak smile.
Clara smiles and hugged her back. “Of course! And when you go back to your time period you’ll have something from the past. No one will know what it is” she chuckles, pulling away and leaning against the wall
Charity paused and glanced up at him. “You’re…you’re not going to run away?” She asked, shifting in her hoodie and glancing up at him as she reached for one of the many necklaces to inspect it
Alexis smiles as she puts the ring on and sighs. "I wish I had something to give you to remember us by." She said as she sat down against the wall.
"Of course not. What's the point if we're going to be captured even if I decide to run away." That was a lie. He would run away, but not just yet. He had mastered his lies and was able to make them sound like the truth. Nobody who ever talked to him could know if he was lying or telling the truth about something. He looked at the necklace in Charity's hand and smiled. "You know, you should keep that. As a reminder of your travel."
Clara glanced up at Alexis and hummed softly. “You could, y’a know…” she paused before speaking again. “You could stay here” she offered, holding a hand out to the other girl. “We’d love to have you here”
Charity glanced up at Ten then back at the necklace, before back up at him. “Are you sure…you guys worked hard to get these…” she whispered softly, worried about them
Alexis looked at the outstretched hand and was tempted for a second to take it before she shook her head. "I'd love to stay here, but I made a promise to Charity that after this little adventure, we would return to our timeline. And I don't know if I'd be able to betray her." She sighed and smiled sadly. "Not much betrayal, but you know."
Ten looked down at Charity and nodded. "I'm completely sure. We have plenty of others in storage, and from what you told me, the police is going to take this back when they capture us. So, might as well take something with you to remember us by."
Clara hummed softly and glanced up at her. “You barely know her but you’re willing to give up your dream for her” she commented softly, looking at the door Ten and Charity had gone through
She paused before nodding her head and shifting, pausing before just setting the necklace in her pocket. “I won’t wear it just yet” she hummed softly, with a smile. “We should get to the others…”
Alexis sighed as she picked a strand of her hair and started playing with it. "Well, yeah…but i-…. maybe I can convince Charity to go home by herself. I don't know." She put her head on her hands and started humming softly.
"Oh, it's alright. Don't want people seeing it and questioning you where you got it. Better for it to be hidden than in plain sight, eh?" He paused and nodded. "Yeah, we really should. They're probably wondering what's taking us so long." Ten said. He put his hands in the pocket of his pants and left the room.
Clara hummed softly, glancing up when Charity and Ten walked into the room and smiles. “Hey guys, what took you so long?” She asked softly, shifting and standing
Chairty glanced from Alexis to Clara before pausing. “Alexis…I think we should talk, about what we’re going to do…” she hummed softly
"Oh, just we accidentally put something in the wrong spots and….things like that. But it's all done. Sorry about taking a long time," He said with a nervous laugh.
Alexis nodded as she put her hands in her pockets. "Yeah, I agree. There's also something I want to tell but that can be once we're done addressing the situation."
Clara gave him a side glance but didn’t say anything about it, nodding and walking to stand beside him with a hum
“Wait…” she held her hand up. “I think we should talk about it now” she hummed softly, glancing at the three other people. “I was thinking…what if we brought you to our timeline?”
"Oh?" Alexis said softly. She stopped to think what would happen if they brought Clara and Ten to the 21st century. "Well, hypothetically speaking, things would go much better for them. They could start all over. No one would know who they were, which means, they wouldn't have to run from the police, or from anyone else. They could live, knowing that nothing bad will ever happen to them." She stopped and looked at Charity. "But, that also means we change time completely. We don't know how different the 21st century or how the past could be."
She glanced up at Alexis, nodding her head silently. “I thought about that also…” she hummed softly. “I don’t think the timeline would change that much. Next week they’d be captured by the police and spend the rest of their lives in jail…” she hummed. “What…what if we faked their deaths, then went back to our time period with them?”
"Faking their deaths?" She asked as she stood up. She started pacing up and down, thinking about it. "If we were to do that, we'd have to do it perfectly. Not one single mistake should be made if we want to fool everybody." She sighed and looked at Charity. "It's risky, but…we could pull it off." She turned to Ten and Clara. "What do you two think? We won't force you to do anything you don't want to. It's your call."
Ten sighed and looked at Clara. "From what Charity told me…after they capture us, they'll kill us. I don't know if it's immediately or not. That's why we took much longer. In reality, this is a much better plan than the one that I have."
Clara glanced from Ten to the girls from the future before nodding her head. “Im willing to try it” she spoke softly, shifting and humming. “If you are” she glanced back up at Ten
Charity nodded her head softly, before pausing. “Then we’ll need to make a plan…” she paused. “Alexis…we need to get our backpacks back from where we left them. I had changes of clothes for me and my friend. We were going to go to a party. We can dress them in those, so they fit in more?”
Ten looked at Clara with a smile and responded quietly. "I am. And I really think this can work."
"Well, if they fit in them. They are older than us…by at least some ten years or so. But yeah, we are going to have to get our backpacks." She looked at Ten and Clara. "Stay here and don't go anywhere. We'll be back shortly. I promise. And don't worry, we're going to be cautious." And with that, she headed towards the door. She opened it and took a look outside to see if anyone was near, and when she found no one, she exited the abandoned house.
Clara glanced up at him silently. “Can you imagine that? Living in the future, getting a second chance at life. We could be normal, get jobs” she smiles softly, shifting and leaning back
Charity followed Alexis silently, pausing before softly taking her friends hand without a second thought. “Do you think we can pull this off? We’re just teenagers…” she whispered softly, looking around
"Sounds rather lovely, doesn't it? It's a good thing we meet them. It's almost as if this was all planned by the beginning by some powerful force." He said with a smile as he leaned against the wall. "We won't have to worry about the police ever again."
"We may just be teenagers, but we have the power to change things. And I do think we can pull this off. If we're cautious enough to not get caught, that is." She stopped and looked at Charity. "I know how you feel. I feel scared too, but things are going to be alright."
Clara smiles and nods in agreement to his words. “Yeah, definitely” she hummed softly, shifting and looking through their stuff. “We can’t really pack any of the jewelry, but we can pack some other things” she hummed
She stopped also and nodded her head. “You’re right…we’ve just got to make sure nothing bad happens…” she hummed softly, shifting and glancing up at Alexis. “Come on…our bags are right up there”
"Well, that's true, but we can get other important stuff." He grabbed two bags and handed one to Clara. He looked through his stuff, deciding what to pack and what to leave behind.
Alexis nods as she runs to the bush where they hid their backpacks behind. She takes out Charity's and hands it to her. She then grabs hers and opens it. "I think I also have a change of clothes and an extra hoodie in here," she says as she looks through it. "Yep, as I thought, here they are." She closes the bag and puts it on. "We gotta hurry. We don't anyone seeing us with these. I know they have backpacks, but they're quite different from our time."
Clara nodded, taking her own pack with a small thank you and going to see what personal things she could pack with her. She hummed, her mind filled with thoughts of the future
Chairty looked through her bag, finding the extra clothes and her schoolwork, before also finding the calculator they’d need to get back home. “You’re right. Let’s go” she whispered softly.
Ten grabbed some clothes and stuffed them into the bag, before choosing some other stuff to pack too. He was quite happy that they were going to get another chance in life. It was an opportunity that was quite rare to see in life.
Alexis walked as fast as she could, and when she thought she saw someone, she would hide behind something. It was almost like if she was some sort of secret agent. "I thought you didn't want to mess with the timeline," Alexis said, once they were a couple of feet away from the house.
“Can you believe we’re going to get a second chance?” Clara spoke up after a few minutes, smiling and shifting her backpack as she zipped it up
Chairty glanced over before looking back down at the ground. “It wouldn’t change much…next week they’ll get killed by the police”
