"You want to play with your toys? Sure," Sorin stood up and picked up Cas, fighting the urge to kiss him in the way down the stairs.
"You want to play with your toys? Sure," Sorin stood up and picked up Cas, fighting the urge to kiss him in the way down the stairs.
Cas blushed a bit, but didn't argue or resist. He sat down on the floor in the living room once Sorin put him down.
Sorin picked up the lamp and set it upright before grabbing the yarn and other toys to set in front of him.
Cas batted at the yarn for a bit and chased after it when Sorin rolled it across the floor. He meowed loudly when he trapped the ball beneath his hands.
Sorin sat down on the ground and gleefully watched as Cas played with his toys.
Cas ran around after the yarn and skidded to a stop in front of the lamp so he wouldn't knock it over again. Of all the toys, he seemed to enjoy simply chasing after the yarn ball the most.
A muffled buzzing sound came from one of the couch cushions. Sorin crawled over and slid his hands under it. His phone, he had forgotten he lost it. He pulled it out and immediately shut it down when he saw the seventeen missed calls from Berenice.
"What's that?" Cas looked up at Sorin's phone from the ground, holding the yarn ball still with one hand.
"Oh this?" he waved the phone in his hand. "It's called a smartphone. It's device used to communicate with others."
"No, I know that… the buzzing it's making." Cas purred as though imitating the phone, which started buzzing again.
Sorin smiled at his attempted imitation. "It's nothing," It buzzed again and Sorin quickly shoved it into his pocket. "Uh…Oh, your yarn ball! You want me to toss it over again?"
"Sure!" Cas tossed it over to Sorin, easily distracted. He chased after it again once Sorin threw it, eventually sliding into a bookshelf. It started to topple and Cas meowed frantically, trying to hold up with his hands so it wouldn't fully fall on him.
Sorin rushed over to him the second he saw it tilt. Being an angel, he had enough strength to hold the bookshelf upright, though he was careful not to drop anything. He scooped up Cas and set him down on the couch, frantically searching for any scratches or cuts on his skin.
Cas's hands were a bit scuffed up and he was startled, but he seemed otherwise fine. He crawled into Sorin's lap again, huffing quietly in distress.
Sorin peppered his hands with light kisses. "I'm so sorry, Cas."
"W-What're you sorry for?" Cas asked quietly, looking up at Sorin.
"For not being careful of where I threw that ball of yarn," his phone buzzed again, but he ignored it. "It's all my fault."
"It's not your fault, love…" Cas purred softly and nuzzled Sorin's cheek. "I'm just not careful enough in general."
Love. Sorin hugged him and pressed his lips against his ear.
Cas shivered again, tucking his head under Sorin's. He always felt small when he was near Sorin, but that didn't bother him as much as he would expect.
"I don't want you to get hurt," he kissed the top of his head. "Be careful when you play around here, otherwise, I might have to baby proof the whole house."
"I'm not a baby…" Cas purred softly, his ears perking up as his eyes were drawn to the sudden light on Sorin's phone. It seemed his ex girlfriend was trying to call him again.
Sorin yanked the phone out of his pocket and hung up, tossing it beside him right after.
"Why did it light up?" Cas watched the phone curiously as though expecting it to light up again.
Sorin shook his head. "It's nothing."
