"Ah." Quinn hesitated for a moment. "There was Mama, Da, Lily, my sister, and Dain, my brother. I was the oldest. Lily was the middle child, and Dain was the baby of the family." He said.
"Ah." Quinn hesitated for a moment. "There was Mama, Da, Lily, my sister, and Dain, my brother. I was the oldest. Lily was the middle child, and Dain was the baby of the family." He said.
Antonio nodded a little as he smiled over at Quinn. His family sounded nicer than his, at least he had siblings while Tony didn't, "It must have been nice having siblings."
He nodded a little. "It was." He replied, mouth twitching in a faint, sad smile. "Difficult sometimes, but it was nice." He shrugged slightly.
"I'm sure it was, what was Ceridwen like before the plague?" Antonio asked deciding a change of subject might be a good idea. He had heard rumors, but they were often overshadowed by the plague, "I've heard it was beautiful."
Quinn blinked. "I…don't really remember." he replied. "The plague has been around for 12 years. I was six when it started, so I don't…really remember much."
"Ah, I, uh, see," Antonio responded blinking as well. He had forgotten that Quinn would have been younger when the plague hit, "Well, then what can you tell me about the plague?"
"Not much, to be honest. We…don't know that much. We know that even just an hour in the same room as a sick person can spread it, but we don't know how to cure it. We know that some people are immune and others aren't, and that being Immune is rare, but we don't know how to predict who will be immune." he replied.
"So you have no idea of the cuase?" Antonio asked him cautiously. Even the people in the city didn't know much about the plague. This was more dire than he thought.
He shook his head. "We know it's magic, but we don't…we don't know where it came from."
"So the plague is magical? What about people with magic? Are they effected?" Antonio knew he might be overstepping some boundaries, but if he could figure at least something out… What was he doing? He should just lay low and not give into his curiosity.
"I…yeah. People with magic are affected the same way as regular people. We…I don't know." he shook his head a little bit, biting his lip.
"That's fine. I'm sorry, I probably overstepped a boundary or two by asking that," Antonio admitted as a reply, "My curiosity tends to get ahead of me sometimes."
"It's fine. It's just…not a lot is known about the plague, and we don't have the resources to investigate it." Quinn replied.
Antonio felt awful about it all. His father was the one not allocating resources to help with the plague ravaging this city. However he refuse to let any of his new guilt show on his face, "I understand. So I didn't overstep any boundaries?"
"No." Quinn replied, shaking his head and taking a deep breath. "It's fine. We're just…I don't know. Struggling along, is all."
"Well, I hope it gets better in the future," Antonio replied offering a small smile before he let out a sigh, "Anyway, let's talk about something a little less depressing."
"Me too." He replied. "And in that case, what would you like to talk about?" He raised his eyebrows slightly.
"Uhh," Antonio thought for a moment before shrugging a little, "I have no idea."
He nodded a little bit, running his hands through his hair for a moment. "I see." He replied with a shrug.
Antonio thought for another moment or two as he hummed. He eventually spoke up, "What's your favorite color?"
He blinked, and laughed a little. "Blue. Yours?" He raised his eyebrows at Tony, smiling faintly.
"Blue as well," Anotonio gave him a smile in return. He let out a little laugh, "What about favorite food?"
"Oh. Uhm. Chocolate, when I can get it. It's… pretty rare around here." He replied with a shrug.
"Chocolate?" Antonio asked as he thought for a moment. He paused as he looked through his bag and pulled out a bar, "I have some if you want it."
Quinn instantly looked more instantly, leaning forward slightly. "Oh. Please? If you're alright with sharing?"
