Jake walks over the kit and grabs then, then makes his way over to Lighter again. He starts to carefully dab some cream on his left arm so the burns could heal, then gently wraps it in bandages. He starts to hum a bit as he works on Lighter, trying to concentrate on not hurting him. Once he's done with the left arm he moves on the right but quickly realizes that he ran out of bandages. "ah, I think I'll need to run quickly to the store. We don't have any more bandages to wrap you up with" he says as if trying to ask for permission to go.
Lighter sat stone still and silent the entire time he was being bandaged. His expression was exhausted and his face puffy from crying.
At the mention of needing more, Lighter jumped. “I-I’ll go with you…” He murmured, resting his head on Jake’s shoulder, slumped over. “I want to get pain killers anyways.”
"Alright you can come but I'm carrying you. You're in no shape to go out frolicking." Jake bends down on one knee so that Lighter can get on his back. "Also, we need to seriously update your wardrobe- oh wait, you don't have one. Anyways, we need to get you out of those blood-soaked clothes asap."
Lighter puffed out his cheeks. “What’s wrong with my clothes?!” He asked, obeying Jake’s request. It was the least he could do for him after he had almost killed himself. He climbed carefully onto Jake’s back, hoping to not hurt him. But lighter weighed zero to nothing. It was almost alarming.
Lighter rested his cheek against Jake’s head, humming at how soft his hair felt against his face. “Thank you Jake….”
("IT WAS ALMOST ALARMING" YOU BETTER STOP. THAT IS REALLY ALARMING)
Jake laughed at Lighter's small outburst. "Nothing's wrong with it! I just think that a few more clothes wouldn't hurt you. Also, your style is horrendous. Do you have to wear baggy clothes all the time?" He asked as Lighter got on him. He pales a bit. "I swear to hell you weight like a feather. A literal feather Lighter! You need to eat more!" he cries out, but in reality he was worried sick about Lighter's health. He thensmiled when Lighter thanked him. "Yeah, no problem. I'm here at your disposal~"
(AHAHA I LOVE SARCASM IN WRITING XD)
“They’re all my brother’s clothes.” He admitted, grinning from ear to ear. It was the first life he had shown that morning. “I steal his stuff. They’re comfy.” He let out a weak purr, resting his eyes. “I know I’m underweight. I don’t get much food. Er… well, I forget to eat.” Lighter’s expression softened. He really did love this boy. How could he have thought of just letting him go? It shot a pang of regret through his heart. “Don’t say that. I love you too much to dispose.”
(Lmaoooo)
Jake straightens up when he was sure that he had a firm grip on Lighter and he wasn't just gonna fall off when he stood. "No wonder they fit so big, you need to find your own clothes. You gotta have style, you feel?" Jake walks out the door and closes it behind him. "What person forgets to eat?! There are lots of yummy foods out there and you gotta try them all or your gonna miss out" Jake said as he walked down the stairs and out. He side smiled a bit at what Lighter said last. "How adorable~ look at the guy show his colors~ a complete sweetheart~" They walked in silence for a few minutes before Jake asked: "Oh and by the way, what's your favorite color?"
“Mm, what style? Skinny jeans and revealing shirts?” He asked with a laugh, kissing the top of his head. “I don’t have a style.” He added soon after. “I forget to eat. I’m a little spacey sometimes.” He admitted. He was actually just too stressed all the time to eat.
“Shut uuuupp~~” He whined at Jake’s compliment, blushing and hiding his face in the crook of Jake’s neck. The question confused him. “I like neutral colors. Like gray. But I really like the color red.”
"No, a school girl outfit" he snickered, then blushed a bit at Lighter's affection. "Well, you desperately need one" he says softly as they neared the store. Jake chuckled a bit. "Don't worry, that's about to change. I'll feed you from now on so that you won't forget"
Jake laughed at the flustered guy. "Alright, alright, and red? Like red lipstick?" He thought about this for a minute. "Alright, yeah, we could do that" he said, not explaining anything afterwards.
“Thank you Jake. I’ll be fed and given a new style, but no school girl outfits. I refuse.” He replied, laughing softly. He adjusted his arms a bit, the unbandaged burn starting to rub and flake. It hurt like hell.
“What?” He tapped Jake’s head. “What are you talking about? What are you planning?”
Jake nodded in agreement to Lighter then laughed when he denied the school girl outfit. "Damn it, so close" he chuckled. Then entered the store, with their conversation the time had flew by.
Jake laughed devilishly. "You mean what am I scheming" he walked around the store, looking at interesting things he could buy for Lighter but soon gave up as he didn't know what Lighter liked. He went to the pharmacy section so that Lighter could grab some pain killers and so that he could get those bandages for Lighter.
“You’ll never see me in one of those.” He winked, closing his eyes once more. “I do t trust that look.” He mumbled. As they wandered around the store, he yawned and let Jake do most of the shopping, only stopping him to grab the painkillers that worked best for him. “I’m still tired. I want to go to bed. But I want food.” He pouted. “Jaaakee, I don’t wanna do stuff~” He tugged on his lover’s sleeve, asking to get down. “I wanna curl up with you instead~ I want to say sorry for everything.”
Jake smiled at Lighter talk while he collected some things. Then set Lighter down when he tugged on his sleeve. "We'll leave as soon as I get the last thing I need, I promise. And what would you like to eat? Hungry for anything in particular?" He stopped midway of getting the bandages. "You don't have to apologize for anything…I understand where you were coming from…I probably would have done the same given the situation…" he looks at Lighter and gives him a quick kiss.
“I want a soup or something. That sounds good.” He mumbled, wishing for a stove. He hummed at Jake’s kiss and words, giving him a light hug. “I love you, Jake… you’re too good for me.” He teased, stealing another kiss.
“I love you so much it hurts.” He glanced at his burns. “Mm, some of it is my arms, but it definitely is mostly you, my amazing boyfriend. Thank you for saving me from myself.”
"Soup it is then~ I'll try and see if I can make some." Jake melted a little at Lighter's second kiss. "You might have a fever, you don't know what you're saying anymore" he said adding on to the tease as he smiled.
Jake blushed really hard at Lighter's compliment, then flashed a look of concern when Lighter said his arms hurted. "I-I'll get that fixed in a bit so bear with me…! And…your welcome, I'll come and save you as much times as you need, you don't have to be scared anymore…"
After that, Jake went to get a few more stuff. There were a lot of bags by the end of the shopping and some were quite heavy. He glances at Lighter. "Ready to go?"
“Mm Thank you. And no, I don’t have a fever.” He replied simply, smiling softly. The concern across his lover’s face made him regret even saying something in the first place. He laughed nervously. “It’s alright, it doesn’t hurt as bad as you’d think. Though I do appreciate you saying that, babe. It makes me feel safe and happy.”
Lighter tugged at a few of the bags in Jake’s hands. “Let me carry some.” He demanded, pulling Jake closer to him. He enjoyed having his warmth close
Jake narrows his eyes. "Mhm, yeah right, like a fresh wound doesn't hurt" He then smiles at Lighter. "Glad to be of assistance~" He enjoyed watching Lighter regain a bit of himself. It's like he was almost happy, that made Jake's heart swell proudly, but was interuppted by lighter asking to carry the bags. He hisses at him. "No way! Not with those burns!" But after a while he gives Lighter three of their lightest bags, though, those were pretty heavy too. "Only because I'm afraid you'll start crying if I don't give you some bags."
“Only a little.” He whined. Heaughed softly at Jake, humming happily. Until he was hissed at. “Rude.”
Soon Lighter was carrying three bags, looking rather proud of himself. He stuck his tongue out at his lover. “I won’t start crying. Believe it or not but I used to never cry until I met you.”
Jake laughs, it's like Lighter had a warm spark that made him different than the others. It was something that Jake had never seen before but enjoyed it. "Looks like you found your weakness~" he mused, sticking his tongue out in return to Lighter's rebellious nature.
Soon they were back at Lighter's small place. Jake sat on the floor as he took the things he bought out if the bags. Chicken broth, a small pot, a small chicken, some vegetables, a portable burner that acted like a stove, a knife, a small cutting board, the bandages, more medical supplies to help Lighter out, red nail polish, a bowl, a spoon, two shirts, two jeans, a giant fluffy blanket, and some chocolates. Jakes laughs nervously. He had spent nearly 200 dollars on it all and only had 300 left. It wasn't that bad, he had been saving up all his life for his escape and this was as good as it got. Though, he regretted none of it, especially since life had finally cut him some slack and allowed him to be with Lighter. Jake looked like a little kid inspecting all his newly bought toys as he pondered what he was going to do next by placing a hand on his chin in a thinking position.
Once home, Lighter sat patiently at the couch, tilting his head at Jake’s purchases. He hummed softly, leaning forwards. “What’s with the nail polish?” He asked softly, a little suspicious already. He eyed the fluffy blanket however, knowing fully he was going to ‘borrow’ it at some point if he couldn’t get his hands on it. He loved fluffy things surprisingly.
“Mm, you didn’t have to buy so much. I could’ve helped out.” He pouted. Lighter had a lot of money from the gang. They gave him a share of the drug and gun trafficking they did. Sure it was bad but it paid good.
Jake laughed at how suspicious Lighter was. "The nail polish is for you~ I'm gonna paint your nails red." He declares and nods at himself as if that was the best thing he did in his life with a huge smile on his face. Jake grabs the bandages and some of the medical supplies and sits beside Lighter. He finishes up rubbing the cream on his arm and wraps it up. "There, it should start feeling better in a bit" He gets up and grabs the blanket he bought, taking it out of the small strip of cardboard it was in. Then wraps it around Lighter, also shoving the chocolates in his lap in the process. "Here, I got you a blanket since all the sheets on your bed are thin…and some chocolates~" He smiles warmly then turns back around and starts gathering the ingredients for the soup he was going to make. "Don't worry about it~ I wanted to get some stuff for you. The soup might take a while, so you're gonna have to wait a bit longer…"
“Me?!” He blinked in surprise, tilting his head. As a respectable gang member, that was a no. But then again, he kinda wanted to try it. “I’ve never had my nails painted…” he murmured as Jake worked on his arm.
Once Jake finished, he flexed his fingers, sighing in relief. “Thank you. I hope it starts to feel better.” You still deserve this pain, you- He shook the thought away but wasn’t given much time to think about thanks to Jake. He gasped as the blanket was wrapped around him and the chocolates were placed in his lap. Lighter, being the child he was, pulled the blanket over his head and held the chocolates close, only allowing his face to be seen.
He really tried to figure out what was going on. Nobody had ever shown him this much attention or love. “What are you…?” He started, but fell silent as Jake spoke again. “It’s ok. I can wait for soup…” he mumbled, still confused. He shifted awkwardly. “What are the chocolates for?”
Jake grinned at Lighter's surprised expression. "Yep, you~ And there's always a first time for everything~ I, personally, love painting my nails, I think it looks cool," He said giving a nonchalant shrug as he finished up with Lighter's arm. "Th chocolates are to eat Lighter, they're for you….think of it as a form of affection or something….an apology…" He mumbled at the end, barely audible. "Besides, you deserve something nice, chocolates are really good. They taste sweet, like you" He said casually as he went to work on the soup Lighter wanted. After he had gotten everything chopped up he threw it in the small pot and went to move on with the chicken. He opened the cans of chicken broth and poured them in the pot as well as the chicken. He set the pot on the mini stove, connecting the cable to an outlet, letting it heat. Then went to sit back down with Lighter, he seemed really excited to "cook" something in a long time. "So how are you feeling?"
Lighter tilted his head, puffing his cheeks out in a small protest. “You’re going to paint a gang members nails?” He asked, suddenly bursting into laughter. “Fine, I’ll let you do it. I want to try it.”
Lighter glanced at the chocolates biting his lip. He blushed at Jake’s compliment, humming happily. “Thank you. I accept your apology.” He purred, opening them up and popping one into his mouth. He offered Jake one before turning into a human caterpillar by wrapping himself up in the blankets. “I’m not that sweet.” He sheepishly replied.”
The second that Jake had sat down next to him, Lighter wrapped his arms - and the blanket - around him from behind, kissing Jake’s cheek and neck lovingly. “I feel better now. Thank you Jake.”
Jake turned a bit red and looks away. "Well when you say it like that…" he glances at Lighter, a small smile on his face when he accepted. "Alright~"
Jake takes the chocolate offered to him and eats it. He laughs at Lighter turning himself into a burrito. "Yeah, you keep saying that but I beg to differ~"
In that second that Lighter wrapped his arm along with the blanket around Jake, he leaned his head on Lighter's and blushed at his kiss. "Well, I'm glad you're doing better. It's no problem, really…" as soon as he finished his words he kissed Lighter properly, his lip piercings brushing against Lighter's lips. Jake hadn't kissed Lighter nearly enough times as he wanted to.
