"No problem. That's what i'm here for." He said, smiling wider.
"No problem. That's what i'm here for." He said, smiling wider.
Macha’s heart squeezed, but not from anxiety. She swallowed. “Me too. For you I mean.” Looking off to the side for a second to gather herself, she took a steadier breath. “Are you happy to be out of highschool?”
"I don't know really. It was something to fill up the day with." He said thoughtfully.
Macha played with a strange of her hair. “I guess. I hated it though, I’m very happy to have gotten out.”
"Yeah all the glares and weird looks weren't very fun.."
(Imma go sleep now, gn)
Macha snorted. “Tell me about it.”
(aw gn)
"Yeah my teachers hated me too."
(Good morning)
The waitress came back with a tray of sushi and their drinks. Macha gave Tyler a smile.
(Morning :)
Tyler kept smiling as they ate. Today has been a good day.. He thought, looking at her.
(how are you?)
Macha ate neatly, afraid to make a mess and gross Tyler out. She lifted her eyes for a moment, and her eyes met him. He was smiling at her. Her heart skipped a beat and she quickly looked back down, flustered. Strands of hair fell in from of her face.
(im good, running on 4 hours of sleep but good. hbu?)
Tyler glanced back down and ate quietly. Do I still scare her? He thought, trying to keep it to himself.
(eek I know the feeling. Tip for sleep: tea tea tea and more tea)
Macha swallowed another bite of food, twining her legs together under the table like she usually did when she was nervous. After another beat of silence, she spoke up. “You look happy today.”
(I know I need to get some)
Tyler grinned. "Yeah my dad's going on a business trip for a while. So i'll be on my own for about a week."
Macha smiled widely. “That’s great!” She could feel his happiness, and it was fanning the flames of her own.
"Yeah, yeah. It's always great when he leaves." He said, not noticing the same man from before looking at them from across the restaurant.
(Oh god)
Macha nodded, feeling happy for her friend. Her mind skipped back to today’s earlier events with her own father, and her stomach squeezed, but she tried to ignore it. “Who’s that?”, she asked Tyler, indicating to the man he had glanced at.
"Don't know. Never seen him before." Tyler said. The man looked away from them.
Macha frowned at the stranger’s back, the hairs on the back of her neck pricking. You’re just being paranoid., she told herself, focusing her attention back in Tyler. Think of something to say, you idiot. she strained her mind, trying to think of something to ask him. (Btw she was saying that to herself, not to Tyler lol)
Tyler turned back to her. “So..what’s got you so worried this morning.”
Macha chewed on her bottom lip, knowing he wasn’t going to give up. “It’s just… my dad.” She fiddled with the bottom of her shirt, looking down. “He… you probably know how he can get. Distracted. He forgets… he’ll spend hours in the same position reading over the same line in a book and loose track of time, he won’t eat unless I remind him to.. I had to come get him from the subway station once because he forgot which direction he lived in. He had a bad night, I found him this morning… I’m just worried.” It felt good to tell someone.
“I’m here. I can help with anything, promise.” He offered sweetly, laying his his hands on the table.
Macha ducked her head. “Thanks.”, she replied quietly, clasping her hands in her lap. Her jaw was tense, her shoulders were drawn up, she was clearly concerned. Shaking her head in a failed attempt to clear it, she gave Tyler a wobbly smile. “Sorry, I’ve gone and ruined the happy atmosphere now.”
“It’s fine. Whenever you need me, I’ll be there. After all, I always have been.” He smiled a little.
Her stomach flipped, and she swallowed. “Me too, for— for you I mean.”
“Sorry for making you so nervous.” He laughed a bit, noticing her jitters.
