Yeah., Macha replied, in thought form this time. She felt as if she was stepping out onto a tightrope, exposed and in danger of falling. I’m sorry.

@blue_topaz

I believe you., she replied. Her stomach growled loudly, and she looked down at it, mortified. She supposed it made sense that she was hungry, she’d eaten half a piece of toast for breakfast and had skipped dinner and lunch yesterday.

@basil_

Tyler felt himself dozing off and jerked his head back up. "Well..It's been nice meeting you.." He said, looking at her for the first time since yesterday.

@blue_topaz

Macha raised her head as well and met his eyes, stomach twisting. “Yeah.” She searched his face, looking for any traces of familiarity, anything to hint at the face that he’d been inside her head for as long as she could remember.

@basil_

"I'll see you then.." He said, standing up and almost collapsing. He leaned over and set his hand on the ledge to keep himself upright.

@blue_topaz

Macha instinctively rushed forward to steady him, but immediately yanked her hands back as if she'd been burned. Stupid Macha, what were you thinking?? "Are you– are you okay?", she asked tentatively, wringing her hands.

@blue_topaz

Every single muscle in Macha's body tensed up as he touched her but she stayed perfectly still, afraid to move. She had always hated physical contact, especially from strangers, but this was something entirely alien. Even after she had met him in person, Tyler had always been separate from the physical world in her mind, a cerebral being, something that belonged inside her head. And now he was touching her. "Do you… do you need something to drink?" Her voice was much too quiet, strained. Something in the back of her head told her that Tyler already knew about her touch issues, but she ignored it.

@basil_

Tyler smiled a bit. "No thanks. I'm good." His voice sounded low and a little raspy and he slipped his hand down to hers, squeezing it gently before letting go and walking away, stumbling a bit.

@blue_topaz

(Is your username a Kitchen Sink reference? I have a friend next to me rn and she's fangirling)
Macha just stood there, staring after him. Her limbs had locked up, she couldn't move. No one, no one, had ever touched her hands before, other than her father and— no, she wasn't thinking about that. Everyone had been too freaked out by her skin, too freaked out by her. She shook her head, trying to force herself out of her stupor, and turned away from him.

@basil_

(yeah it is. you have a good friend there)
Tyler looked down at his hand and smiled a little. He had liked the feel of her skin but didn't dwell on that thought long, afraid Macha would hear it. He walked home and collapsed on his bed, absolutely exhausted. Tyler had timed it exactly so he always got home right after his father had left for work.

@blue_topaz

(she says thank you)
(and yeah, she's pretty great)

Macha gathered herself and headed towards the nearest library, in need of a distraction.

@basil_

(keep her)
Tyler almost fell asleep before he heard his name being called. Shit. Oh shit. Oh no.. He sat up as his father walked into the room. "Where were you?" His father asked angrily. "Um..out..with a friend." He lied, not very well. His father laughed coldly. "Very believable. Did you get that form filled out while you were at this 'friend' of your's house?" Tyler scowled up at him. "I told you i'm not going." His father glared back. "Yes you are. Your mother would've wanted this."

@blue_topaz

(definitely)

Macha felt as if a huge weight was being lifted off her shoulders as she stepped into the towns main library, her world tilting back to an even plane and re-organizing itself to make sense again. Chelsea, the girl at the front desk who was approximately her age, gave her a nod of recognition. Chelsea was probably the closest thing she had to a friend, which was depressing since their only interactions were polite nods and smiles in between Macha’s reading sessions, and the occasional ‘hey’. Not that Macha minded, she hated any social interaction of any type.

Sighing as her wings disappeared, she headed straight for the mythology section upstairs.

@basil_

Tyler stood up, rising to his fathers height. "You don't know what she wanted. You didn't love her." He growled, storming out of the room and out the door. He felt a surge of anger course through him and wondered if Macha could feel it.

@blue_topaz

Macha was reaching for a thick, leather-bound volume of Plato’s works when a surge of anger spiked through her. Her heart squeezed uncomfortably, and for a moment her eyes tightened around the spine of the book in rage, although at what she had no idea. When she finally managed to shake herself out of it, the realization hit her. Tyler. Before she could regret it, she sent out the thought. Are you okay?

@basil_

Same here.. He thought, walking around the town a bit and finally sitting down on the front steps of the library.

@blue_topaz

Macha sighed and took the book to the window seat (she's on the second floor rn), sinking into the cushions and casting a glance outside at the overcast skies, but her eye got on a flash of blue on the library steps below that made her stomach jolt. Tyler? She tapped on the glass lightly to get his attention.

@basil_

He looked up at the tapping and saw Macha sitting in the window. He smiled and waved a bit. Didn’t realize you were here.

@blue_topaz

Macha offered him a hesitant smile, not used to socializing this much in one day. I have about half an hour until my shift here starts so I figured I should just sit and read.
