Meredith returned the smile as she pulled out onto the street. I bet it has those weird wood panels on the doors. I can never remember what type of car that is. She winced suddenly at her careless thoughts. ”Sorry. Still need to work on filtering what goes thru my head.”
Well… it's kinda true… Paisley let her head rest back on the seat. "It's all good… I bet I'll have a headache tomorrow from all this concentration."
Meredith chuckled picturing Paisley having to ride in one of those cars. ”Sorry to hear that. Is our telepathy straining for you? I haven't felt anything yet.”
"It was a bit earlier, but not really anymore." Paisley rolled down the window to let in some fresh air and so she could feel the air going through her hair.
”Huh.” Meredith let the topic drop, deciding to turn up the music slightly. So cute… she smiled with a slight blush before softly singing along with one of the softer songs by The Score.
Paisley, of course, heard that, but she didn't say anything. omg omg… Her face got a little warm, but she kept her face out the window.
Meredith turned very red at Paisley’s flustered thoughts but chose to focus on driving and sang just a bit louder.
Paisley smiled a little, hearing Meredith's singing a little better. She turned a bit so Meredith could hear her. "You have a really pretty voice! Do you normally sing?"
”Not a lot, I mean I'm not in choir or anything. I’ve never actually sung for anyone outside my family before. Mostly just in the car or at home or even if I'm alone listening to a song I love.” She admitted still blushing. Sometimes I think I'm a bit of a lisztomaniac.
Definitely, that's definitely me. Paisley laughed a little. "Well your voice is really nice, you should consider choir or just covers or even your own music!"
Meredith laughed with Paisley before blushing very red. ”I’m not that good. I can't write music or even play an instrument.” But I always wanted to try the guitar and I did play a little piano when I was little. ”Beside’s I’ve never had any lessons in singing.” she paused, ”Though I guess I could try out for the choir.” it might be easier if you were there… you don't have to, of course… But it might be nice…
"Oh, I am not a singer, I couldn't even come close to the room, they would kick me out right then and there." Paisley shook her head profusely. I can be here though!
Meredith smiled. If this is the only way they’ll let you support me then… Ok, as long as you don't distract me. she winked. ”What kind of music do you like?”
Paisley winked back out of habit. "I love RnB the most and Khalid is my favorite artist at the moment…" But it'll probably change next week. She smiled, giggling a little. "Have you heard of AJ Mitchell?"
”RnB is some good music.” Meredith agreed with a light chuckle. ”Can’t say that I have heard of AJ Mitchell though.” I know I’ve heard of Khalid but I’m drawing a blank on his actual music…
"Yeah, I thought so, he's a pretty new artist he's also pretty unknown. I would recommend Slow Dance by AJ that's my favorite of his at the moment." Paisley nodded. He's actually pretty popular, I actually bought a vinyl record of his most recent album and it's constantly playing on my record player… I bet my roommates and neighbors are soooo tired of it…
Meredith couldn't help but laugh at the mental image. ”Oh, that's the best. When you drive others crazy with your music. I would love to try that sometime.” I’ll give AJ a listen. ”A vinyl record? Those are making a comeback lately. If I had a player for them I’d buy more.” She smiled as she parked in front of the restaurant.
Oh YES, FOOD! Paisley unbuckled herself and opened the door. She stood by the hood, waiting for Meredith. Oh yeah, you definitely should…
Meredith raised a brow at Paisley’s speed. You move that fast for food, you could try out for the track team. She smiled as she got out of the car and joined her at the front. ”Shall we?” she extended an arm invitingly. oh geez, this is cheesy.
Let's do it! Paisley took Meredith's hand and started walking alongside her. "Yes I'm fast but you are faster. Every two or three steps I take, you take one. My legs would be going soo fast!"
”Nah. I’m just taller. Height doesn't always mean speed. Distance maybe but not always speed.” Meredith smiled opening the door for her.
"True…" Paisley walked through the door, thanking Meredith on the way with a smile.
Meredith smiled, leading them to a booth towards the back but still by the window. Why do you think Dwarves can outrun Elves in open plains?
Paisley giggled. "I actually didn't know that, but it makes some sense." She sat down, looking at the menu.
Meredith chuckled picking up her own menu. ”Yeah, I'm a closet nerd.” she admitted blushing lightly. Our secret? she raises a brow teasing slightly.
