Lori smiled and tapped her bottle against Ellie’s as she wrapped her arm around her wife's waist. “You don't have to drink more than you can handle.” she reminded softly.
Lori smiled and tapped her bottle against Ellie’s as she wrapped her arm around her wife's waist. “You don't have to drink more than you can handle.” she reminded softly.
Ellie took another drink and leaned into Lori, burying her face in her wife's hair. "I know," she whispered back. "But I want this. I want to let go a little bit."
“Alright.” Lori nodded, pressing a soft kiss to Ellie’s cheek. “Then let’s drink to our happiness on this day.” she smiled.
"Indeed, my darling wife," Ellie cooed, lifting her bottle to her lips and taking a generous swig, trying to hold back a foul expression afterward.
Lori smiled and took a long relaxing sip of her rum. She laughed a little at Ellie’s expression. “Oh, darling.”
Ellie looked over at Lori with wide eyes. "What?" she asked, blinking with confusion.
“Your expression.” she chuckled before kissing her cheek again. “If you don't like it, you don't have to drink it.”
"No, no," Ellie replied softly, accepting the kiss with a smile. "It's fine. I like it. Why? What did I look like?"
“You looked like you didn't like it.” Lori chuckled. “It was cute though. And it does take some time to get used to it.” she added assuringly.
Ellie giggled and leaned more into Lori. "I do like it. It just stings. A lot." She pursed her lips in thought, then shook her head. "Yeah, I don't think I like it." Then she giggled again and took another sip.
Lori laughed again and hugged Ellie. “It's ok if you don't.” she assured. “I think Charlie might have a bottle or two of wine downstairs, if you would prefer that.”
Ellie's eyes widened, and it was all she could do to keep from spitting out the rum she'd just drank. "Yes, very much," she enthused readily. "As long as it's not too much trouble."
Lori nodded and was about to call for Marc when Tommy popped up from the galley with a bottle of wine in one hand and a glass in the other. “I hope that's not for you, young man.”
Tommy giggled and shook his head. “Mama Charlie thought that Ellie might like this better than rum.” he answered as he walked up to the couple.
Ellie bit back a sigh of relief. "Here," she said, slipping her half-empty rum into Lori's hand before slipping the bottle and glass from Tommy's. "And she was very right. Thank you, darling," she said, kissing his forehead lightly as a gesture of gratitude. "Give Charlie my thanks as well."
Lori chuckled a little as she took Ellie’s bottle and took a drink from it. Unlike her new beloved wife, the pirate captain was well accustomed to the taste and burn of rum.
Tommy blushed at the kiss but smiled at her and nodded. “I will.” he said softly before darting back below.
Ellie poured a generous amount of wine for herself and began to sip it readily. "Much better," she sighed, letting the smooth alcohol flow through her. She felt looser… if that was a word. Ellie wasn't quite sure, but she knew that she liked the feeling. She spun around again, lifting her wine glass to the contents didn't spill, and grinned with her face tilted up to the sky.
Lori smiled, already feeling a little tipsy, as she watched Ellie. Though she had the thought of making an effort to keep at least a couple of bottles of wine onboard from now on.
Her crew were not habitual or heavy drinkers but everyone indulged on occasion and as long as they didn't get too out of hand, she didn't mind, as long as they were not completely incapable of participating in the usual chores and responsibilities the next day.
Ellie lowered her glass to sip from it before thinking better of the action. "A toast!" she declared, returning to Lori's side and looping her arm still holding the wine bottle around her lover's waist. "To my stunning new wife."
Lori laughed and kissed Ellie’s kiss, wrapping her arm around the blonde’s waist in return before raising her bottle as well. “To us, my dearest love.”
Ellie grinned and gazed adoringly at Lorelei. "May the years of our love be as numerous as the drops in the sea below us and as infinite as the stars above our heads," she murmured, her talent with words showing itself yet again. "I adore you."
Lorelei nearly felt herself swoon at the beautiful words and the loving look in Ellie was giving her. “And I you. Always.” she sighed, meeting her wife's blue eyes with just as much devotion and passion. “Now nothing can separate us.”
"Nothing can separate us," Ellie repeated, leaning in and placing a deep kiss on Lori's lips, pulling her even close with the arm around her waist.
Lori nodded and kissed Ellie back, wrapping both arms around her. She wasn't going to go anywhere.
Ellie kissed her back eagerly, making sure to keep both her glass and the bottle upright so that neither spilled on Lori while they embraced.
Lori hummed softly and let the kiss linger a while more before pulling away so they could breathe. “I love you.” she whispered for probably the hundredth time tonight.
