The kingdom of Aurel has been undergoing turmoil. The king and queen died five years ago, and the king's younger brother took the throne. It is widely rumored that he poisoned his brother and his brother's wife in order to take the throne. It is rumored that he caused the disappearance of the princess, Rose, who has not been seen since the coup. But what is worse is the prince. Korain Montvelier. The King keeps him on a chain, with magic binding him and keeping him from moving too much, because Korain is a monster. Sometimes he is in human form and sometimes he is a beast. The King controls him, forces him to change, uses him as executioner, soldier, torturer. A monster, hated or pitied by any who see him. Mostly hated.

Rose has been in hiding. Strong in magic, she has learned to control it, learned to wield it as a weapon, and she has come for her brother. Has come back to the capitol specifically for him. But she is horrified by what she sees. A snarling, angry beast that tears apart any who get too close. She and Korain were twins; they knew each other better than anyone. But now he hardly recognizes her. Doesn't even know her. He nearly kills her when she attempts to break him out, and so she must recruit someone still loyal to the throne. To her and to Korain, the true heirs, not to her uncle.

She finds someone, a member of the rebellion who is a spy in the palace. She tells them she needs their help. They agree, and together they break Korain out of the palace, break the magic binding him and flee from the capitol. Together, their group flees to the wilderness; they can't bring Korain back to the rebellion yet. Not with the way he's acted, what he's been forced to do. They'd kill him for it, prince or no.

But the prince doesn't remember much of life before their uncle took over. All he knows is the scars on his body and the monster inside of him. All he knows is fear. He wakes up screaming, and snaps at Rose and the other whenever they get too close to him.

Eventually he begins to recover, and they head towards the rebellion, to end their uncle's regime.

But those were just maybes. He would never know for certain. He would always wonder.

Looks: Rose isn't very tall, at only 5'5". She's slim, without super pronounced curves. She has long, dark brown hair, with slight curls in it. She often leaves it down or in a bun, and takes good care of it. She has medium blue eyes, though their color often changes when she uses magic. They always return back to blue, though, once the magic is over. She typically dresses in things that are designed for comfort and for ease of use, not for style. So any dresses are often shorter, ending at her mid-calves or even her knees. When she can, she will wear men's trousers, tailored to fit her body, and a blouse.
Brief personality description: Rose is very strong and stubborn, and not to be underestimated. She is very intelligent, and quick, but does know how to be subtle. She uses the fact that many underestimate her to her advantage, using it to find weaknesses and exploit them.

Looks: Korain is of about average height, at 5'9". He has brown hair like his sister's, but cut shorter. His eyes are a deep green, that turn black when he is about to turn into a monster or has just turned back. His skin is pale, and crisscrossed with scars. There is a scar around his neck from where the collar has rubbed his skin raw over the years. In his monster form, he grows taller, his limbs grow longer. Horns sprout, along with claws, and his teeth turn longer and razor sharp. In this state, he would kill anyone or anything that got in his path. Even in human form, he would kill anyone, being a talented swordsman.
Brief personality description: Korain is quiet, and while he's intelligent, he doesn't remember much and sees the world through a warped mindset. What memories he does have have been played with, altered and manipulated until he doesn't know what's real and what isn't.

His eyes are a piercing blue-gray, and always seems to be filled with mischief and perpetual amusement. He is pretty tall, about 6'3", and has sun-tanned skin. He is very muscular, and has scars over his body from his trainings. He has a tattoo of an upside down triangle with a line stabbed through the bottom point on his left underarm, beneath his elbow.

Brief personality description:
Javaid is playful and always seems to be amused. He is rarely serious, and has a sharp and prominent sense of humor. He is flirty and warm, and is more like a fire, hot and untouchable, than anything else. He is incredibly loyal, though, and will do anything for the people he loves. He is easy to approach and make friends with, but is in no way gullible or naive. He has an excellent judge of character. He has a short temper, and trigger-happy fists.

Sweets and meats. He loves to eat, although it doesn't show. Fighting and arguing, too. Playing with fire. He likes making people laugh, and the color blue, the exact shade of the night sky. His brother. Pretty men and women.

Damen looks a lot like his twin brother. They have the same height, body build, and hair color, and same eye color, although Damen's are a bit grayer, like a stormy sea. His skin is a bit lighter, too, and his tattoo, while the same as Jav's, is on his right arm, not his left, and his hair is longer, down to his shoulders, and each. He gives off a quiet calm and assurance that his flighty twin lacks.

Brief personality description:
Damen is the water to his brother's fire. Calm, cool, and good under stress, he is a great person to rely on. He is steady and dependable, and very loyal. He doesn't talk much, but his eyes communicate everything he wants to say. He hates being around crowds, and only his brothet can get him to come in to a party. Likewise, Damen is the only person who can get his brother to calm down. He has an enduring temper, and rarely geta angry.
