Milo smiled at Hunter's comment. "You're welcome, Hunter." Disappointed, he sat back down and buckled himself as well. His heart had been racing and butterflies were still in his stomach. "I think we need to go right instead of left on that intersection." He said with a soft laugh.
“Yeah,” Hunter started the car and turned around. The drove for a little bit longer until the apartment complex could be in sight, “Is that it?” Hunter asked, slowing down as they approached.
Milo nodded. " It sure is…" He said in a dissapointed tone. To be completely honest, Milo enjoyed being with Hunter. He was the happiest he's been in a while. And he hadid no idea how different things would be the next day… especially with all of Hunter's friends that still think he hates Milo.
Hunter parked the car, and turned off the engine. He took a deep breath, something in his heart not wanting this moment to end. Hunter unbuckled himself, “Here, um, let me walk you to the door,” He said quickly, already getting out of the car. Hunter couldn’t help himself, after tonight, after that moment… He just wanted to stay with Milo a little bit longer.
Milo slowly unbuckled himself and got out of Hunter's car. He smiled at Hunter as they walked to Milo's apartment. Nervously, he took Hunter's hand while holding his breath a bit.
Hunter squeezed Milo’s hand in answer, his heart beginning to pound a little harder. His chest seemed to glow a little brighter too, which for some reason made Hunter turn red. Each step closer to the doors made him a little more nervous, until he slows and came to a stop just outside. Hunter turned towards him, “Milo…” He trailed off, looking into his soulmate’s eyes. They were… beautiful.
Milo also looked into Hunter's eyes. His heart was rapidly beating, seeming to make his chest glow brighter, but there were other reasons as well. He was still holding Hunter's hand, thinking about it, he smiled a little. "Yes, Hunter?" He said in not even a whisper, almost inaudible.
Hunter completely lost his train of thought, staring into Milo’s eyes. “I don’t want to leave just yet,” He murmured, almost holding his breath as he subconsciously shifted a little closer to Milo. Hunter never, not in a million years, thought he’d feel this way about Milo.
Milo closed the gap between the two of them with a tight hug. "Me neither…" He closed his eyes, resting his head on Hunter while still tightly embracing him. This feeling was almost overwhelming to Milo, he hadn't ever felt anything like this, and if he ever had, it was never this intensely. His heartbeat was matched with Hunter's making their chests all the brighter.
Hunter was still taken aback when Milo hugged him. It felt so… perfect. A feeling he didn’t even know existed. He wrapped his arms around Milo, holding him against his glowing chest. Milo felt so small in his arms, Hunter wanted so badly just to hold him there forever. His free hand slowly drifted up to brush through Milo’s soft hair. I love you. He almost said the words aloud. Almost. But that would be too far, Milo would probably hate him if he said something like that.
Milo smiled into Hunter's chest. He felt a belonging in Hunter's arms, like he was meant to be there. I love you… He wouldn't dare to say it out loud, Milo wasn't nervous about Hunter turning his back on him anymore, but he was afraid that was too much. His breath was calm. Milo didn't want to leave, this was perfect.
Hunter leaned in, his hand moving to gently tilt Milo’s chin up. He hardly knew what he was doing, but there wasn’t a chance he’d stop. It was like the whole world was holding its breath, like time stopped just for them.
Milo looked into Hunter's eyes. They were sparkling, just like the night sky that they were under. "I…" His voice quieter than the crickets. He softly sighed as he tilted his head higher and closer to Hunter's. Now their faces were less than an inch apart. At that moment, Milo closed his eyes, a surge of bravery hit Milo like a storm as he closed the gap between their faces.
Hunter met him halfway, their lips connecting like a symphony. His chest was glowing brighter than a lightbulb. It felt perfect, like their lips were fashioned to be together. Two halves that fit together so perfectly to make a whole. Hunter’s hand drifted from Milo’s chin to his cheek, his other hand slowly moving to Milo’s lower back.
Milo wasn't completely sure any of this was real. Everything was so perfect, like a dream. Even if it was a dream, he was going to enjoy every second of it. He slid one of his hands into Hunter's hair, the other still in a hug. Kissing Hunter again, he put more love into it, more passion.
The longer Hunter kissed Milo, the more desperate each kiss became. He didn’t want to leave Milo’s side, not even for a second. In that moment, Hunter really realized how much he needed Milo. Milo’s finger’s in Hunter’s hair made him feel lighter than air. He never knew what love truly felt like until this very second.
Milo was probably enjoying it more than he should be, but he didn't care. He knew right then that he could never leave Hunter, and he didn't want Hunter to leave him. In between kisses, Milo managed to say "I love you… Hunter…" Nothing could have stopped him from saying that.
“I… love… you… too…” Hunter murmured onto Milo’s lips in between each kiss. The words were like a switch, and Hunter deepened each kiss, both his hands drifting to Milo’s waist. “Milo…” Hunter said in between desperate kisses, just wanting to say his name.
A small smile appeared on Milo's lips as he also deepened his kisses. After a few minutes, Milo hesitantly stopped. He opened his eyes and looked into Hunter's. "I don't want you to just leave after today… I can't… I can't shake the thought that you might abandon me tomorrow… and just forget today ever happened…" Milo's eyes became a little watery. He didn't mean for that to happen, it just came out.
“I won’t,” Hunter told him, looking into Milo’s eyes. “I promise I won’t. I would never abandon you,” He told him, a vow. Hunter couldn’t even imagine himself leaving Milo after tonight. “I won’t ever leave you,” Hunter promised, tilting his head to rest his forehead against Milo’s.
Milo took in a big breath and let it out in relief. He stayed there, in place for a quite a while taking in Hunter's presence, his heartbeat, his scent… his touch. "So what are we now… are we a… couple? I couldn't imagine anything else…" He said as he wrapped his arms loosely around Hunter's neck, still forehead to forehead.
“That sounds nice…” Hunter murmured, taking Milo in still. His warmth, his arms around Hunter’s neck, his smell, his voice… Milo didn’t know it, but he had complete control over Hunter right now. All Hunter wanted to do was protect him, keep him safe, make him happy… It still felt unreal. Just a couple days ago he was beating this guy up, now Hunter would give anything to reverse that.
Milo let his head rest on Hunter's chest, closing his eyes. He smiled slightly after getting an idea. "So… this might be a bit nerdy, but I want to tell you anyway." He let go of Hunter, stepping back ever so slightly. "So you know the hand gesture Spiderman does when he shoots his webs, right? Well, that gesture is actually 'I love you' in sign language." Milo's smile grew, telling Hunter about that, as he made the sign and showed Hunter.
Hunter couldn’t stop the slightly sad feeling as Milo pulled away, but he had Hunter’s full attention. “Really? That’s actually pretty cool.” Hunter imitated Milo and made the sign, a smile growing on his face as well.
"Oh, I love you too," Milo said with a silly smile. Right after he yawned. Wrapping his arms around Hunter once again, he closed his eyes wanting to sleep, but not wanting to leave Hunter's arms.
