Gus sighed nervously, pursing his lips. "That's… that's spooky." He chuckled, trying to lighten the mood while he looked around.
"Yeah… just a bit. I suppose." He added, a bit embarrased

Saul nods. "Yeah. They shouldn't be able to do that."
They raise an eyebrow, looking around the house. "Just a bit?"
Gus bit his lip an anxiousness, looking around his house in disarray.
"Well, I was terrified. And I really need to understand what's going on. Why the hell would you have taken me if I wasn't supposed to know anyways?"
Saul chuckles. "I was - am - an idiot is why."
Gus looked hurt, edging away from Saul as he started to tear up. "So… so you're right. There's nothing special about me. I can't help at all. Trying to enlist me was just a mistake." He sniffed, then stood, heading towards the door
Saul is up in a flash. "No- no! That's not it at all! You are much more special than you realize. But it was a mistake to try and enlist you. I never should have done that."
Gus shook his head. "No. I'm useless. I am. I'm not good for anything anymore." He mumbled, wiping his eyes before heading out the door. He just needed to get away, to clear his mind for a moment.
Saul tries to follow Gus, but Gus, in his frantic need to leave, had unknowingly warped the light around him, making himself effectively invisible. They could try to follow, but it wouldn't go well. Even if they weren't a very good diviner, they could see tht much. In the meantime, Saul goes around the house, cleaning everything, organizing leads and dead-ends, victims and suspects.
Gus looked back at the house, then to his translucent hands, sighing as more tears began to flow down his face. Not again…
Invisibility was something he couldn't control, or turn off, for that matter. After a minute of forming outside, he carefully and silently crept back into the house, still invisible, as he watched Saul with curiosity.
Saul just continues cleaning, oblivious to the world around them. Currently, they were doing the dishes with insane speed, not paying much attention. One of the dishes slips, but saul just catches it with a burst of magic, not even looking down. They take hours cleaning the house, and when they finish, it looks brand new. They sit down on the couch, waiting.
Gus watched Saul, feeling worse and worse by the minute. They… they do really care about me. He thought, biting his lip in nervousness as he stood in front of Saul on the couch. "I'm sorry…" He whispers, calming down substantially
Saul jumps, having been partly asleep. They open their eyes lazily. "Hey beautiful… where'd you go?"
Their inhibitions were very loose at that point in time, too.
Gus blushed hard, wringing his hands and pursing his lips as he looked down. "I…. Oh dear…"
He lowered himself to the couch, tilting his head as he studied Saul's somewhat drunken features
Saul chuckles softly. "I'm just teasing. Just… stay, please. I can't loose you."
Gus stayed silent, still a bit angry over the whole ordeal, but complied anyways. It was foolish for him to run away. As he sat down, he fell onto Saul, yet felt no impulse to sit up. "Sorry…" He mumbled softly
"It's okay…" Saul yawns. They wrap their strong arms around Gus and fall asleep like that, tired from the entire week and cleaning the house.
Gus couldn't help but grin. He felt incredibly safe in Saul's arms, nuzzling into them gently as he turned to the side.
All seemed to be well, until a loud boom was heard from just outside
Saul startles awake, eyes narrowed. They gently move Gus, and motion for him to stay. Silently, they go to the window, casting invisibility on theirself. Who…?
On the street outside is Saul's old second-in-command. Saul actually looks scared.
Gus bit his lip, nervously wringing his hands while he watched Saul. "Saul? Saul what is it?"
"They found us. I don't know how, but they did. The explosion was a max strength fireball." Saul murmurs.
They whirl. "We need to go. Now."
Gus stood up, quickly grabbing a pastry and looking around for a place to leave. "Where do we go?!"
Saul laughs slightly, regaining some of their composure. "Why, we go somewhere they can't find us. I couldn't establish a base in Russia, so we go there."
They grab hold of Gus, and they disappear from the house.
Gus yelped, getting whisked away by Saul as they held onto them tightly, whimpering softly as time seemed to fold inward onot them
Eventually, they tumble into an abandoned house. Saul looks around and shrugs, and with a click of their fingers, the house is restored.
"We're where we need to be." they murmur.
Gus huffed, panting as he looked around and inspected the restored sanctuary. "A-are you sure? Are you sure we're safe?" He asked, voice faltering slightly with fear
