Paige was still out of breath and shocked. She numbly shook her head.
Colton gently brought her to her feet and wrapped her in a comforting hug, "You're alright, I'm here now."
She relaxed against him, then began to shake slightly. "They went looking through my stuff," she whispered timidly.
"I know, I think they put everything back though." Colton replied, running a hand through her hair gently.
She breathed slowly. "I was so scared, Colton… Thank you for saving me."
"You're welcome. And I'll always be there to save you." He smiled softly.
She burrowed into him, then realized something. "Shouldn't you be in class?"
"Yes. But I needed to save you." Colton replied.
"Thank you," she repeated quietly.
"Anything for you." He kissed the top of her head.
She blushed happily. Hannah had been right about one thing – she did have a super tough and protective boyfriend.
"Wanna skip the last couple lessons?" He asked. He didn't want her stressing anymore then what she had been.
"S-Sure," Paige stammered, leaning against him.
"We don't have too, I won't force you, but I don't want you stressing."
"No, I'd like to. To skip, I mean." She finally caught her breath from the incident.
In the courtyard, Macy, Clearie, and Lillian were gathered around Hannah, who held Paige's diary in her hands. "Very good work girls," she praised them, opening the journal to the first page.
Colton nodded, "Okay, let's go." He took her hand.
She wove their fingers together and smiled happily.
He gave her hand a squeeze before heading off.
She followed him. "Where are we going?" she asked softly.
He shrugged, "Anywhere you want to go."
"Don't you have somewhere in mind?" she questioned, swinging their hands ever so subtly.
"How about we go to where you and I first skipped?"
She grinned. "Alright!"
He squeezed her hand and set off down the hall.
She beamed and followed him.
