"Uh… who are you and why the hell are you calling Paige that?" Colton asked, giving her hand another squeeze to let her know everything was going to be okay.
"Uh… who are you and why the hell are you calling Paige that?" Colton asked, giving her hand another squeeze to let her know everything was going to be okay.
"Oh, ET?" Hannah commented, flicking her gaze from her to him. "Didn't she tell you? She's a lame-o transfer from some prestigious school on the west coast. School for actors or something." She waved her hand dismissively.
Paige looked at her shoes and bit her lip. "Colton…" she whispered.
Colton put his free hand in his pocket and shrugged, "So? That doesn't give you a right to make fun of her for it. I think it's cool in all honesty and if you don't then that's your problem. Now, do us a favor and piss off?"
Hannah turned splotchy pink in anger. She leaned close to Paige and whispered so Colton couldn't hear. "Fly back to Mars, ET. You don't belong here. Tootles!" she chirped and skipped away, high fiving some other girls who had been watching. The whole group cast sharp looks at Paige.
Colton glared at the group before turning to Paige and kissing her right there in the middle of the hall. He knew the girls were watching too. He pulled back just a little, "Hey, I don't care that you transferred or didn't tell me, I still see you as the same perfect girl as before."
Paige felt the glares of Hannah's group burning into her like daggers, but her eyes were locked into Colton's. "Okay," she breathed.
Colton smiled and littered her face with a few more kisses before the bell rang, "Dang."
She giggled shyly. "That's the bell."
Colton sighed dramatically, "I know, let's get going then."
"Do you want to meet up after class?" she asked, not moving an inch.
Colton nodded, "Of course, where?"
"Your secret spot?" she suggested, tilting her head slightly.
He smiled and nodded, "Sure thing."
She returned his smile as the second bell rang.
Colton groaned, "Guess I'll see you after beautiful, bye!" He kissed her one last time before heading off.
She smiled to herself and went off to her class.
(Timeskip to after?)
(Sure)
Colton practically ran to the meeting point after class finished, eager to see Paige. He never thought he'd feel the way he did towards someone, yet he was glad he did.
Paige arrived a couple seconds later. "Hi," she said breathlessly, as if she ran the whole way there.
"Hey, how was class?" Colton asked, sitting down.
"It was pointless. When are we going to use logarithms in the real world anyway?" she mumbled, sitting next to him.
Colton chuckled and wrapped an arm around her, "True true, but we're on break now so don't think about work."
"Mhmm…" she hummed, closing her eyes and leaning into him. "Do you really not care – about the whole transfer thing?" She asked the question tentatively, partially afraid of what he would say.
"Of course I don't care," Colton said gently, "It doesn't matter that you came from a different school, what matters is you're here with me now and that's all I care about."
She sighed happily. "Okay." Still, thoughts of Hannah and her crew exposing her past plagued her.
"Hey, don't think about whoever the hell that girl was," Colton said, kissing her head, "You're perfect the way you are and she can go to hell if she bullies you again."
