Kyle took her hand and nodded, pulling himself up so he was taller then her again, "Yeah. I have no doubt he'll want me to clean the house for when the twins get here too. Sorry we had to cut this hang out short but I'll see you at school tomorrow?" He asked somewhat hopefully as he raised a brow.
“It was fun while it lasted.” Xio hoped they would get to hang out again. She had a lot of fun. “Of course. You think I’m going to let you be alone now? Ohho. You’re in for a lot of attention.” She winked.
For once she seemed to notice how tall he was in comparison to her. “When did you get so tall?”
Kyle chuckled, "I've always been this tall, you're just short," He flicker her nose playfully, "And I guess I can put up with some level of attention if it means hanging out with you again." It was his turn to wink at her.
Xio playfully stuck her tongue out, folding her arms. “Am not! I’m average actually.” She replied with a playful tone. “You can hang out with me whenever you feel it.” Her eyes widened. “Can I get your number? Then we could keep in contact!”
"Hm? Oh yeah sure, gimme your phone and I'll put it in." Kyle smiled and held out his hand, a small fluttering feeling in his chest as he did so.
She quickly handed him her phone. Maybe now she would have more than just three contacts. And one of those was only in there so she knew not to answer it. “Sweet, I’ve hit a new record, four contacts!”
Kyle laughed and punched in his number before handing the phone back to her, "Great, I'm one upping you with with five," He slipped his hands into his pockets and sighed contently, "I'll see you at school tomorrow then."
“Aww I’m going to win sometime, tall guy.” She pinched his arm. “I’ll see you at school.” She waved, heading down the road. She live a few blocks away.
Kyle waved back before he headed inside his house to do as Damien had asked. Though his mind wandered to Xio and what she was doing.
Xio hurried home. She let her music be loud and her thoughts louder as she rested on the couch. Kai’s strange ability shocked her. Was it all real? Was she only dreaming?

The next morning Kyle didn’t dread the idea of going this school. In fact, he was sort of excited to go and see Xio. He dressed in back ripped jeans, a white shirt, long sleeve blue flannel and grey beanie before he grabbed an apple before he set off to school.
It didn’t take long, maybe fifteen minutes before he was keeping his head low and trying to be invisible once again. He weaved his way through people, ignoring whisperings and glares was he made it to his locker.
Xio had woken up a bit later than she had intended. Her father had gotten home late and tired and she stayed up waiting for him. As he ate, he told her the bad news of Jeremy’s return tonextensive care. It didn’t settle well with her.
Even so, she managed to drag herself out of bed, groaning. She felt like today was a Lavender day so dressed accordingly: in a Lavender button-up blouse complete with a light scarf and even a homemade flower crown. She struggled to slide on a pair of light-colored skinny jeans ripped at the knees and thighs. She wore the same old beat up tennis shoes as always. This were her favorite outfit to wear.
As she made her way through the hallways of the school, Xio hummed a song. She felt extra bubbly and only a little more tired than usual. The first thing she did was search for Kai. It made her heart flutter to think they were friends now. She searched the hallways, hoping to find him.
And find him she did. She grinned, hurrying to his side at his locker. “Hey Kai!” She called out, her face now locked in a stupid grin. She was ecstatic to see him.
Kai felt like he jumped three feet in the air when Xio came up next to him, causing him to slam his locker door shut and a few snowflakes escape from his fingertips. He glared at her, “Gosh don’t make me jump like that, Xio!” He sighed and rested his head on the locker, “It’s to early in the morning to be creating frost sculptures.”
She snorted into laughter, covering her mouth. “That was cute.” She teased, leaning against the lockers. She cast a few looks around, glaring at anyone who seemed to stare too long. “It’s never too early to do anything.” Xio was a morning person. She loved the mornings, they were quiet and pretty and overall wonderful.
Kai frowned deeper and resisted the urge to flip her off, “It was not cute thank-you very much, and yes, it is too early. Anything before midday is too early,” He sighed, “Anyway, how was your evening?”
“I thought it was.” She shrugged. “Sometimes it’s like that. But for me today, it’s never too early.” Xio smiled, hoping to put one on his face as well. He seemed grumpy this morning.
His question threw her off. She laughed nervously, adjusting the flower crown atop her head. “It was… alright? My best friend is in the intensive care again, my father didn’t seem to be feeling well and I hardly slept.” It sounded like a bad evening to her. “Overall, could have been better.”
“Damn, I’m sorry to hear,” Kyle tried to put himself into a better mood for her case, “Hopefully today should be a good day, though so it can take your mind off of everything.” He forced a smile but his bad mood seemed to be getting in the way this morning.
“Hopefully.” She seemed to catch onto his bad mood pretty quickly, her eyebrows furrowing. “How about yours? Did you sleep well?” She bit her lip, catching her piercing. She had only put the lower piercing in today. The top had begun to hurt once again. “Do you need a hug today? You’re rather grumpy.”
Kyle rubbed at his face and nodded, “A hug might be needed…” He muttered, sighing, “I… I had a bad evening…” It wasn’t just a bad evening, it was one of the worst in a long time and he didn’t know why.
He didn’t have to say anything more. She stepped forwards and wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him close. “Told you you’d get a lot of attention.” She murmured, closing her eyes. She could stay there forever. However, she let him go after a few moments, feeling giddy and recharged. “If you ever need a hug, just ask.” Xio loved hugs. She often gave them out. Unfortunately it made her seem a bit weird at times md people accused her of flirting with every guy she saw due to her nature of hugs.
Kyle nodded, feeling slightly disappointed that she eat go of the hug so soon, “I will, don’t worry.” The hug made him feel slightly better, and dull down some of the thoughts he had been receiving from last night which made him visibly relax just the slightest.
“Good. You deserve all the hugs in the world. You’re probably the best person here. They don’t see that.” This didn’t sound like a tease nor a joking phrase. It was completely serious. Xio’s eyes lit up and she quickly fished around in her bag. “I’ve started writing your story.” A large binder was pulled from the depths of her bag, it’s edges worn and faded. This was a binder that had been loved to the fullest. “I’m having so much fun writing it. I decided to keep your appearance. It was so fun describing you.”
Even though Kai didn't quite believe it, he smiled a little anyway, "Thanks, I'd say your tying with me for that spot," He looked to the binder, examining it closely for a few moments, "And how exactly did you describe me?" He asked, flicking his gaze to her eyes for a second before looking back down again.
