Kyle held his hands up in defence, “I would never freeze you. I swear it.” And it was true, he would never freeze her or anyone on purpose anyway. Well, only if they were making him mad that is.
Kyle held his hands up in defence, “I would never freeze you. I swear it.” And it was true, he would never freeze her or anyone on purpose anyway. Well, only if they were making him mad that is.
“I believe you, don’t worry.” She would have to tone down her joking. With a bright look of triumph she downed the rest of her drink, stretching. “Alright, now what? I’m not sure how much time you have but I have all day.” She hummed happily. “What do you do for fun, Kai?”
Kyle shrugged a shoulder, "I read, draw. Nothing interesting anyway." He took out his phone with a small frown, "I have to be home in ten." He muttered with a sigh.
He really didn't want to leave because he was having a really good time. But rules were rules and he had to follow them, no matter how much he didn't want to.
“You draw?” Maybe he’d agree to do concept art for her. Maybe. She would hold that thought off for now. “Ten? So sad. We can’t hang out for much longer.” She let out a deep sigh. “I guess now I have to do my homework, huh?”
Xiomara wasn’t one to do homework on time. Though she was an A- average student, she was a huge procrastinator often leaving projects untouched for weeks.
"Yeah, I draw. I don't think I'm very good but…" He shrugged. Even though he didn't think he was good he had loads of notebooks in his room with different drawings and sketches of random things. Drawing was like an anchor. It kept him grounded so he didn't do anything stupid.
"And sorry I have to go, as much as I want to stay yeah there's homework and… rules," Kyle ran a hand through his hair, "I mean, you could always come see Alba?"
“Oh I’m sure you’re good!” She didn’t think she was a good writer but people told her otherwise. She would do the same to him and hopefully help.
“No, rules are rules. I’m just not used to them. I have rules, but don’t get too punished for breaking them.” Xio was a free teen which wasn’t always a good thing. That had shown. Thus the reason she wasn’t allowed in the park anymore. “Can I really!? I want to come see Alba! I love animals!”
Kyle chuckled, "Come on then. If you want to see her then we have to get going." He stood and pushed his glasses up his nose.
He knew Alba would like to see a new face, and if Giselle was home she'd be ecstatic that he actually had a friend. But She was probably still at work and Damien would be too but still, if she was she'd be happy.
“Wait, I can see her today? Really?” Her eyes widened, a look of pure excitement crossing her face. This was exciting. She felt like she had really made a friend of Kai now.
Xio stood quickly, waving at Atlas as he glanced up. He blew a kiss but she frowned. “I’m ready when you are.”
"Great, let's go." He found it kind of cute that she got so excited over a dog. I mean, he knew Alba was cute an all but he didn't want to get her hopes up.
He led them out the shop and after gaining his bearings, led them towards where he lived. He blocked his hand from the sun and scowled, "Why can't it be winter?"
Xio nodded. She took her place at Kai’s side, humming to herself. She felt like she could fly currently.
“I like this time of year. It’s warm and sunny. Winter is cold, makes me want to curl up with someone and just stay there.” She turned her face to the sun, closing her eyes and letting the warmth wash over her. It felt refreshing.
"Nope. Winter is way better. Snow is beautiful and those days where it's cold and crisp but sunny is the best." He sighed contently just thinking about it.
"Except for the winter solstice." The problem with the winter solstice was that his powers became more uncontrollable and he still didn't know how to deal with it. As much as he loved winter, the 21st of December was not his day.
“Mm, ok Snowflake. But I like the fall better.” She replied nonchalantly, elbowing him gently. “Winter is fun too I guess.”
Her eyes fell to watch their feet, a smile painted on her face. “You’re fun to hang out with.”
"Really? You're pretty fun to hang out with too." Kyle nudged her gently back. It wasn't a long walk from the smoothie place to his house so it didn't take long before Kyle was pushing open the white gate to his house and a huge border collie came bounding over to them, causing him to grin widely.
"¡Hola amigo! Sé que he estado mucho tiempo pero ya regresé y te traje un nuevo amigo, Xio!"
Xiomara smiled softly The whole way there. She was rather sweet and more bubbly throughout the walk.
When they reached his house, Xio was the first through the gate, holding out her hands for the dog to smell. “Alba! C’here you big fuzzball!”
Alba sniffed her hand before he licked it and ran around Xio's feet playfully, "I think she likes you." Kyle smiled and chuckled as his dog came round his feet too before going back to Xio, "Yo tambien te amo Alba."
“Is that Spanish?” She asked after listening to him a bit. She ran her fingers through the dogs fur, humming happily. “It sounds cool…”
She wanted to hug Alba but thought it to be too strange here. Especially since she had just met Kai too.
"Yeah. Maria was Cuban so…" Kyle shrugged, "It's pretty much my first language," He rubbed the back of his neck, "Feel free to hug her, she's just a giant puppy." He smiled softly.
Xio dropped to her knees, hugging the heck out of the big dog. She let out a small sound of joy, humming to herself. “I love Alba. I’m coming here more often. Not just for the dog, though.” She laughed softly, smiling at Kai.
Kyle smiled softly back and sat down on the grass next to her, "Good to know I'll have a visitor for me and not just my adorable dog." He sighed contently and leaded down in the grass, Alba licking his face once before going back to Xio.
“Pfft. I’m not just your friend for your dog. But I do love Alba. I wish I could have a dog.” She moved to her knees, wrapping her arms around Alba’s soft neck once more. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. It was such a nice day. “It’s been one of my best days yet, to be honest. Haven’t felt this great since before my parents split.”
Kyle looked over and offered a small, somewhat sad smile, "I'm glad you had fun," He felt the same way. He hadn't had this good of a day in his entire life! Especially since Maria passed, "I did too."
“Good!” Her eyes lit up and she glanced over at him, smiling warmly. She laid down next to him, placing an arm over her eyes. “It’s so waaarmmm I love it.”
//brb got a two hour class to go to//
(Okay, have fun)
"It's so waaaarrrm, I hate it." Kyle mimicked he with a grin. He closed his eyes as Alba wiggled in between the two of them.
//Back!//
She grinned, rolling her eyes. “You’re so mean.” She teased, poking his arm. She hugged Alba and laughed softly. “I’m stealing your dog.”
