"when she gets here do you mind if I use some of Smoke's solid cat food to feed her? Just for tonight? Then I'll go buy her her own to keep here with me" Emmett said to Rowan, kissing him gently.
"when she gets here do you mind if I use some of Smoke's solid cat food to feed her? Just for tonight? Then I'll go buy her her own to keep here with me" Emmett said to Rowan, kissing him gently.
"Yeah sure, no problem, though I don't have a ton of solid food. Smoke is still mainly on semi-solids." he replied, returning the kiss.
Emmett pulled away slowly and smiled at him.
"Thank you" he said quietly, settling his chin in the hollow of Rowan's neck.
He smiled back. "No problem." he loved being snuggled up with Emmett like this.
Emmett took this time to unclasp Rowan's hair from its hair tie and let it down.
"I really, really like you Rowan" he whispered to him, placing a soft his on his lips.
He smiled a little, reaching up to run his hands through Emmett's hair. "Me too."
Emmett's phone buzzed and there was a knock at the door, he gently removed Rowan from his lap and got up, opening the door and taking Siddalee from his driver, who had delivered her.
"Thanks" he said, then shut the door gently, bringing Sidda over and then sitting her down gently while he sat back down on the couch, she then jumped in his lap, forcing Emmett to pet her.
Smoke stirred sleepily when the door opened, his yellow eyes popping open. At the sight of Sidda, he jumped up, back arching and tail twitching as he gave out the biggest hiss he could. Which, since he was still a very small kitten, was not a very large one at all. Rowan laughed a little, reaching over to gently pet Smoke to try and soothe him. "It's alright, bud." he murmured. "You're fine."
Sidda gently purred as Emmett petted her, she looked at Smoke with her big curious green eyes and meowed loudly, she slowly edged closer to him, and licked him on the ear.
"Maybe they like each other?" Emmett asked nervously.
Smoke hissed at her again, tail fluffing up as he glared at the larger cat. Rowan sighed faintly. "He's just scared. He hasn't had a lot of exposure to other cats." he sat up a bit more, gently scooping up Smoke and holding onto him. The kitten mewed faintly, keeping his eyes on Sidda as Rowan held him. Rowan sighed softly, gently petting Smoke. "Behave, bud." he said to the kitten.
Emmett smiled faintly, scooping up Sidda too.
"If you want I can have my driver take her home and make sure to fill her food and water bowl" he said quietly, petting Sidda gently.
"No, it's…let's give them both a little more time to adjust." he replied softly, carefully letting go of Smoke. The little grey kitten approached Sidda apprehensively, walking on stiff legs as he approached the larger cat.
Sidda sniffed, not bothering to edge near Smoke this time, but meows loudly again.
"It's okay Sidda" Emmett whispered to her "he's just a kitten" he whispered.
Sidda inched closer slowly.
Smoke hissed again, though it was softer this time as he flattened himself down on the couch, glaring up at Sidda. The poor thing seemed very apprehensive about all of this. Rowan watched quietly, keeping an eye on Smoke.
Sidda made her way back to Emmett's lap, where she laid back in his lap, closing her eyes slow.
"Good girl," he said to Sidda "I think they need a bit of time to get used to each other." He said to Rowan.
Smoke continued watching Sidda warily, ears flattened back against his head as he watched the bigger, older cat. Rowan nodded a little, gently picking Smoke up again. "Yeah, probably."
Emmett smiled at Smoke, continuing to pet Sidda.
"Im sure they'll warm up to each other" he whispered quietly, leaning over and kissing Rowan on the cheek gently.
He smiled a little bit, leaning his cheek on Emmett's shoulder. "I'm sure they will." he agreed.
Emmett kissed Rowan again, this time gently on the mouth.
"I hope so" he said quietly, petting Sidda who was sitting in his lap, purring.
Smoke mewed faintly, squirming in Rowan's hands. Rowan released him, and the kitten approached Sidda again, curious and apprehensive.
Sidda stayed in Emmett's lap at first, then slowly made her way over to Smoke, where she inched along slowly to avoid startling him.
Smoke mewed again, ears flattening, but he didn't hiss this time, just stared apprehensively at Sidda.
Sidda stayed where she was, afraid that if she moved closer, the kitten would hiss at her like he did previously.
He stared at her, cautiously approaching with his claws poking out just a little bit. He was scared and anxious, unsure about this other cat in his territory.
Sidda continued to stay where she was, while Emmett continued to stroke her back, he made sure to keep her comfortable.
