The guy smiled and clapped his hands together. “Sure am! It’s a pleasure to meet you, Teylie! Ready to tour your new home?”
The guy smiled and clapped his hands together. “Sure am! It’s a pleasure to meet you, Teylie! Ready to tour your new home?”
"Yeah!" Teylie nodded happily, her grey eyes sparkling.
The landlord opened up the door and led her into the home. It was kinda small, but quaint and brand new.
Teylie looked around and smiled, walking around the apartment to get a feel of the layout.
The landlord tailed her. “What do you think? Easy enough to move in, yeah?”
She nodded "Yup," she turned to him and smiled "And thank you again for meeting me, is there any paperwork I have to fill out before I go get my stuff?"
The landlord shook his head. “You just have to sign a few things when you move in.” He patted her shoulder. “I’m glad someone finally moved in. It’s very hard to rent out this home.”
Teylie looked at him, a confused look on her face, "Why is that?"
The landlord’s eyes immediately roamed to the front window. “Er… no reason.” His gaze snapped back to her.
"Ok?" Teylie marched to the front window and looked outside, only seeing some blond guy standing there. She watched him and waited for him to move, which didn't happen.
He just stared and stared. At the blank space across from him. His profile was turned so it was facing her. Thank goodness he wasn’t staring directly at the house.
"Well, that's creepy…" She turned back to the landlord and smiled "Don't worry, I'm still going to rent, and I'm going to get my stuff right now if that's ok with you."
The landlord sighed. “He’s been there for years. Never moves. Terrible for renters looking to rent.” He smiled and perked up again. “Of course! Come right in and move!”
Teylie nodded "Ok, my car is a little ways down the street, I'll just drive it up here and then start bringing stuff in," she grabbed her keys out of her pocket and smiled.
He nodded. “Your parking spot is just out front! Have a wonderful time moving in. If you have any questions, you know where to find me.”
"Will do! Thank you again for all your help," She nodded and smiled at the landlord before walking outside and back down the street to her car, thinking about the guy that wouldn't move. She got in and drove back to her new home, carrying in a small box of stuff and going back for the few other things she had.
The landlord had gone when she drove up, but the blond hadn’t. He hadn’t even blinked when she drove by, or when people shoved him to attempt to get him out of the middle of the sidewalk.
Teylie quickly finished bringing everything in and started unpacking, starting to blast music to listen to as she worked.
When she had finished, the house seemed homier that what it was. It was quaint and cute, with the matching furnishings.
She smiled triumphantly at her work and walked outside, sitting just outside of her door to get some fresh air. Teylie looked around and saw no one to talk to so she started up a conversation with the unmoving man "So, um hi, I know this is weird but I'm bored and I want to talk, so yeah…" she looked at the guy across the street who just stared into the distance "Um, I'm Teylie, all my friends call me Tey, so I guess if you want you can too." She chuckled and shook her head "I'm talking to someone that looks like a statue and probably is.."
He stood soullessly. His eyes were unblinking, his limbs untwitching, his legs frozen in a straight-up position.
Teylie shrugged "Well, people already think I'm crazy, so the least I can do is have a nice civilized conversation with a statue.." she chuckled "So, how's life?" she smiled and nodded at an imaginary answer "Good, I'm doing pretty good myself. Well, I better go make something to eat, I'll talk to you later." She jumped up and waved to him before walking inside and making a hot-pocket and some popcorn to eat.
He didn’t say anything. Just stood there. Staring. He didn’t react when she left, and was still standing there when she finished her food.
She finished eating quickly and she walked back outside, this time with a folding chair and a book. She waved to the frozen guy again and set up her chair, sitting down and watching him "You know, I don't have a name for you.." she said as she looked at the guy "You look like a Felix..so that's your new name, Felix River," Teylie smiled and nodded before finally turning to her book and starting to read.
Felix didn’t say anything. He didn’t ask about her book, ask if she had a chair he could sit on, or congratulate her for giving him a name.
He just stood.
