Anya tried once again to relax, but it was no use. Her body was throbbing, and it was becoming harder and harder for her to draw a full breath.

Spencer was deeply concerned about Anya, but he couldn't do anything about it. The best he could do was continue on his way to his friend's house, making sure they weren't being followed. Again.
His own head pounded from pain, and he wished it would stop. Somehow he was able to pay attention to the road, which was good because that way they wouldn't get into another crash.
Anya developed a system to distract herself. She would look over at the president and his daughter, reinforcing that they were okay. Then, she’d look over at Eliza, making sure that she was alert and not betraying them. After that, she’d look over at Spencer, making sure that he wasn’t badly injured and was still capable of driving. Anya made this into a bit of a game, devising levels to pass and ‘skills’ to master. In truth, it didn’t do much to quell the pain, but it was a marvelous distraction.
(I'm shopping with my family, so I apologize in advance if I don't respond quickly every time.)
Spencer would intermittently look back at Anya and the others, reassuring himself that they were okay. Well… As okay as they could be, anyway.
After about a half an hour, they pulled into the parking lot of a large apartment building. Spencer parked the van and sighed heavily.
"We're here."
//you’re fine. I’m also watching AOS rn so
Anya sighed in relief, but the sigh was broken off by coughing. “Good. Let’s… go.”
(Lol. Okay.)
"Yeah. C'mon, he's on the fifth level, but there's an elevator," Spencer explained, climbing out of the vehicle and opening the door for his passengers.
Anya nodded and gingerly stepped out of the car, leaning heavily on Spencer for support. (If that’s ok.) She refused to admit it, but she was in a lot of pain.
“Okay. Phillip over there-“ Anya nodded once in the president’s direction “-should walk with you.” She poked Spencer. “It should…. alleviate suspensions. Lily (again, I’m making up names, and I no longer care about consistency lol) goes with… with Eliza. I go… alone.”
Spencer wrapped an arm around Anya to hold her up.
"No. The president is unharmed (who knows how…), so he can help his daughter and Eliza. You, on the other hand, are clearly not okay. I'll help you walk until you can sit down," he argued. "And don't try to persuade me otherwise because it's not going to happen."
“But… people will recognize the… White House family… so we should… split them up….” Anya argued. “And not pair…. man with woman… that’s suspicious….” She sighed. “Look, this way…. mother-daughter day for… those two-“ Anya pointed at Eliza and Lily “-and a bro’s day out…. for you… and him…”
"No, An– Leslie. We don't have to walk that far, and I'm definitely not leaving you by yourself in this condition," Spencer countered. "We could even take Lily ourselves while Eliza takes McCallister if we have to. But I am not letting you go alone."
“But if we… groups would be more…. Ugh, fine,” Anya grimaced. “Don’t blame… me when it all…. all goes… wrong.”
(Whoops..! Got distracted by a piano…)
Spencer chuckled slightly as he lead the group inside. They walked through the lobby, catching odd glances from the tenants sitting or standing around. He ignored them as he made his way to the elevator, then waited for it after pressing the 'up' button.

//FITZSIMMONS GOT MARRIED
AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH
Anya began to bounce on her toes, but stopped almost immediately. “I… forgot…” She sighed and sang under her breath, “This is taking… forever…”
"I'm sorry," Spencer murmured to Anya. "We'll be there any minute now."
As if to prove his point, the elevator opened, and he lead them in and pressed the button for the fifth floor.
“Show off,” Anya muttered, half-smiling. She made sure everyone was inside before pressing the ‘close door’ button.
Spencer raised an eyebrow at Anya. "How is that showing off? All I did was say something and the elevator just happened to open!"
“You are just… proving my… my point, here.” Anya wrapped a protective arm around her torso, trying to suffocate the shock of pain that had run through her as she’d spoken. “I wish this thing… would move… faster.”
"M'kay. I don't understand how that's me showing off, but if you say so…" Spencer shook his head. "Anyway, were on the fourth floor, so we'll be there soon."
Aaaaaaaand… The doors opened.
//wow what a shocker
“Are you… incapable of… counting? Or is this… something…. else?” Anya asked, automatically tensing up.
Spencer gaped at the door.
"I– I– Okay, so we were on the fourth floor… And now– now we're not…" he stuttered.
(Lol. Poor, confused babies… Your authors are having fun confusing you.)
//XD
“How could you… tell? Like, if this is… four or five?”
"Uh. The floor number is right there…" Spencer pointed to a screen above the buttons.
“Right. Totally doesn’t… hurt to move… my head….” Anya grimaced, rolling her neck slowly. “Do we…. get out now?”
Spencer nodded. "Yeah. Right. Let's go," he said, helping Anya out. He hung back to wait for the others to get out.
(My sis, cousin, and I are watching TV, sorry if my responses are slow.)
//np I gtg rn
Anya stood outside the elevator doors, waiting nervously for everyone to exit. “Are there…. stairs we could… could take?”
