//Lol
“Lettuce go!” Anya said, shoving the slippers (all except Lily’s) into Spencer's arms. She hurried to Lily’s room and knocked.
The president called out, “come in!” Anya could hear the TV program Lily was watching.
Anya opened the door and walked in with her hands behind her back. “I have a surprise!!”
Spencer groaned, this time out loud, before following Anya. He stopped just behind her, making sure Lily couldn't see the slippers he was holding.
"Oooh, what is it? What is it?!?" Lily asked, jumping up and running over to Anya, a wide grin on her face. She seemed to be completely oblivious of the situation she was in.
Ah, to be young and naive again…
“Iiittt’sss…” Anya drew out the word before presenting the slippers to Lily and almost yelling, “Slippers! Look! We match! And your dad and Noah can, too!” She gestured for Spencer to come out from behind the door and show the excited little girl.
Spencer rolled his eyes, blushing faintly as he grinned and stepped out with the slippers.
"Ta-da!" he sang, holding them out in front of him. The president groaned quietly, obviously knowing that he was going to have to wear them. For his daughter.
"Awwwww!!! They're so cute!" Lily exclaimed, jumping up and down as she took them from Anya. "I love them! Thank you!"
//yay!!!
“You’re welcome!” Anya squealed, clapping, clearly just as excited. “Put then on! Your dad and Noah can, too!”
(I have other RPs to respond to, too. Lol.
That, and it takes me a while to type sometimes.)
The two men exchanged glances, and it was obvious to everyone except Lily that neither of them was too thrilled to do it. But for Lily, they would. Spencer handed the president a pair of fluffy, pink, cat slippers and sat down next to him so that he could put them on.
Once everyone had their slippers on, Lily danced around in a happy circle, squealing excitedly.
//xD no worries I’m just bored
“Aren’t they so fluffy?!” Anya said, clapping her hands. “And they look so cute- or handsome!-“ she winked at Spencer “-on everyone!”
(Lol. Well, I'm tired, so…)
Spencer rolled his eyes, though the red on his cheeks deepened slightly. I can't believe I'm doing this…
"I love them! I'm gonna wear them forever!" Lily exclaimed, bouncing up and down on her toes.
(I lowkey forgot how old she is… Did I even say?
I'm also now picturing Scott's daughter from Ant-Man.)
//saaaammmmeeeee
So like
Seven
Six maybe
“Hooray!” Anya cheered. She suddenly felt all of the acting crash down on her, a solid wave of exhaustion. “You want to know a secret, Lily?” she whispered.
(Woot-woot! Lol)
"What?" Lily whispered back, her eyes wide as she grinned.
“You and your dad get to…” Anya waited for a few seconds before finishing, “watch movies all afternoon while wearing matching slippers! Plus, you get popcorn!”
Lily's grin grew, if that was even possible, and she bounced on her toes. "Really? Do we really? Wow!" she exclaimed happily, turning to her father. "Daddy, Daddy! Daddy, did you hear? We get to watch movies all day!"
Spencer shot Anya a small smile as he stood up, still wearing the fuzzy, pink slippers.
"Wow, darling! What are we going to watch?" the president asked his daughter, smiling gratefully at Anya, though his eyes were clearly tired.
"Maybe we should leave them be for a bit?" Spencer murmured to Anya, now standing beside her.
“That was the plan,” Anya murmured. To Lily, she said, “Have fun, okay? You can tell me all about it tomorrow!”
"Okay!" Lily enthused.
Spencer gave President McCallister a respectful nod before walking out the door. He waited for Anya in the hallway, his back against the wall and his hands in his pockets. (You know, that thing guys do… Idk how to explain it…)
(I found a pic! Lol. https://i.pinimg.com/564x/1a/7b/58/1a7b58f5ee2428a80f9f3e85a1ceee94.jpg )
//xD
Anya walked out, shutting the door behind her. The second she knew Lily could no longer see her, she sagged. She didn’t see Spencer standing there, and when she looked up to see him, she was startled. “Oh! Sorry, I… umm… didn’t see you.”
//that was the clunkiest of clunky paragraphs ever but I am too lazy to edit
I apologize
(Dude. It's great. Don't apologize.)
"You okay?" Spencer asked, his eyebrows furrowing. He had noticed Anya looking a little… worse-for-wear… and was becoming more and more worried about her.
//lol thx
It’s really bad
But thx
“Fine. I just need… rest, probably. Though that didn’t help much…” She laughed, but there was no humor in the sound. “I honestly wouldn’t mind watching movies all afternoon, myself. But we really should make a plan.”
(Dude, it was fine.
I've gtg eat supper. Be back in 15-45 minutes.)
Spencer nodded slowly, his jaw clenching as he looked at Anya. "All right. If you say so," he said disbelievingly. "Let's go sit in the living room, then."
//ok tty soon
“What movie should we watch?” Anya asked, her voice lacking the usual energy it had. She curled up on the living room couch, clutching a pillow to her chest.
(I'm back!)
"I don't know… I thought we were going to plan first, but maybe a movie is a good idea. It might help to destress a bit," Spencer said with a shrug. He sat down at the opposite end of the couch, giving Anya as much space as she wanted.
“I’m not diseased,” Anya joked, giving Spencer a smile. “I suppose we could watch the Princess Bride… to be entirely honest, I missed the climax. My place got attacked. I got back just in time to see her jump on a horse.”
Spencer rolled his eyes and scooted a bit closer.
"Well, then you missed the best part," he said, winking at Anya before grabbing the remote to start the movie. "We'll definitely be watching it, then."
“Works for me,” Anya smiled. She leaned her head on his shoulder.
Spencer's eyebrows shot up in shock when Anya rested her head on his shoulder. He had realized his feelings for her went deeper than simply being partners for this mission, but he wasn't sure if she felt the same way. The subtle things he had done to be close to her were as far as he had allowed himself to go.
He bit his lip as the movie started, debating on whether or not it would be a good idea to ask her a question.
Anya watched the movie in silence, occasionally wondering why Spencer was opening and closing his mouth so often.
Near the end of the movie, right before the climax, Spencer finally decided to ask. He cleared his throat a couple of times.
"Hey… Anya?" he started, waiting for her before continuing.
“Hmm?” Anya responded, engrossed in the film.
"Uh… Would you, um…" He reached back to rub his neck awkwardly. "When this mission is over, would you maybe like to go on a date?"
Anya couldn’t help but smile. She turned her face upwards, meeting his eyes. “You know, I’ve never done that before…” She kissed his cheek. “But I think it might be nice.”
