They found a little back alley where they could set up camp and start a little fire. "I can go beg for food, if you'd like."
Marco shook his head, "nope… you're staying here with your half frozen soulmate…" he said firmly, "Leave food to me."
"I… Alright…" Lucas curled up against Skye next to the fire, pulling bits of ice from the other's fur.
Marco smiled, "Just between you and me, he's crazy over you" he said, before jogging off into the streets.
Lucas's tail wagged softly and he continued his grooming of his soulmate. He tugged Skye a little closer to the fire.
Skye watched him tiredly, admittedly shivering a little as the other worked.
"You okay?" Lucas licked Skye's face and nestled beneath the wolf's chin.
"Just cold…" he murmured, curling around the other.
"Mm… hopefully the fire will help." Honestly, Lucas liked being held like this, at least in dog form. His tail thumped softly on the concrete.
Skye nodded, letting out a shuddering sigh, shivering a little.
Lucas tried to keep Skye warm to the best of his ability, but there was only so much he could do when he was this size. He hopped that Marco would return soon.
Skye kept close to the flame, hoping he wasn't at risk of frostbite as they waited for Marco's return.
"Is there anything I can do to help?" Lucas asked softly, his words a bit muffled by Skye's fur.
"Just don't scare us again…" he murmured, referring to how he'd vanished.
"I didn't mean to…" Lucas shifted his legs and winced, pressing his head up against Skye's chin.
"I know…" he said softly, nuzzling him, "But I don't wanna lose you…." he moved to lick the side of his face.
Lucas's tail wagged a bit. "I know… I don't want to lose you either. You're a little better at protecting yourself, though."
Skye hummed, wrapping around him happily.
Lucas started to doze off, his tongue sticking out a bit from exhaustion. His tail still wagged slowly and he huddled close to Skye.
Skye kept him close by the small flames, nipping his ear gently, "Don't let the cold put you to sleep." He said firmly.
"It's not the cold… I'm just tired. My injuries are hurting." Lucas watched the fire quietly.
Skye whined softly, nuzzling him again.
"I'm okay, really… No need to worry. They'll heal." Lucas licked Skye's chin to reassure him.
Skye hummed softly, still nuzzling him.
Marco returned after about ten minutes with food. "Well, don't you two look cute." He smirked a bit at the little dog cuddling up with the massive wolf.
