Name: Robert Eugene Walton
Age: 21
Gender/Pronouns: Trans man, he/him
Orientation: Panromantic graysexual
Appearance: Robert stands at 5'11", with tanned skin from all his years on a ship. He has a rectangular build, and was able to get surgery for his chest, though the scars are thick and crooked and a bit ugly to look at. He has brown, curly hair, which is cut pretty short, and a mostly angular face that has just a bit more curve to it than he would like. He has thick, dark lashes, that he also hates, as he feels they make him look more feminine than he wants to appear. His eyes are a light green-blue tone, like the shallower bits of the ocean. He has a scar through his right eyebrow that discolors the hair a bit, coloring a portion of it white rather than brown like the rest of it. Tends to wear your typical white 17th century pirate style shirt, along with a vest and a pair of dark pants, and boots.
Personality: Robert is certainly a bit wild, with lots of energy, a quick mind, and a very sharp wit. He writes letters to his sister as often as he can. A bit of a flirt and a bit of a con artist, but does have a heart of gold underneath it all.
Backstory: Robert was abandoned on the doorsteps of an orphanage as a baby, and was raised by the orphanage for his childhood. His "sister" isn't really his sister, but the girl he shared a room with (being trans, the people running the orphanage saw him as a girl and treated him as such). The orphanage mistreated all of the kids in their care and they often went to bed hungry or bruised, and weren't really given the proper care that they needed. Most were abused regularly, and though that abuse was usually physical, it would sometimes tip into sexual abuse. Usually, once kids hit between 12 and 14, they disappeared. Whether they were just kicked out, were put onto ships, or were given over to rich noblemen and noblewomen for various purposes was never quite clear to any of the kids. The girl Robert shared a room with, Estella, vanished one day while Robert was gone. He had gotten into the habit of leaving the orphanage during the day, turning to petty crime like picking pockets or, on good days, selling newspapers. He wore boys clothes and had cut his hair with an old knife, and, as he hadn't quite hit puberty yet, was able to pass as a boy perfectly well. When he came back, though, Estella was gone, and the people running the orphanage refused to explain to him where they had taken her. When he kept demanding answers from them, they beat him rather severely for questioning them, and locked him in the basement with no food or water for three days. The pain, anger, and hurt that this unlocked inside of him enabled him to use his powers, which, prior to this had lain latent. He set the basement on fire without quite meaning to, though it was worth it when that enabled his escape from the basement. The downside, though, is that the people running the orphanage brought in the police to deal with him, calling him a danger and a menace and all sorts of other things. They also said that his "dressing as a boy" was further proof that he was mentally unstable and needed to be thrown into jail. Robert managed to slip away from the police when they weren't looking, and ran away. He lived on the streets for a few years, and during that time found Estella; she was happily employed as a maid in a large house, and she was doing amazingly well. Satisfied that she was alright, he kept in touch with her. She knew that he preferred the name Robert, and that he wanted to be seen as a boy, and while she didn't quite understand it all, she was alright with using the name and pronouns that he preferred her to. When he was 15, he got taken in by a group of sailors (read: pirates), and became part of their crew. He wanted to get out of the city, see the world. He was a favorite of the captain (nothing sordid, more like father-son) and when the captain died, Robert took over at the age of 17. Eventually, though, he got tired of the sailing and binding his chest, and decided to retire. Once on land, now 19, he got surgery for his chest. However, this was quite expensive, and wiped out what little money he had, plus some he didn't have. He also incurred quite a few debts about other things, and is now looking for something that has a large payout so he can pay off the debts and live a life of luxury.

alright, no rush!
It was a boring day in the tower, that was for sure. Victor had left to get them some food for the week, and now Luci was left alone with little to do but paint over old paintings, play with Denny or otherwise just sit on the floor and ignore everything. But, something felt off about today. Usually, days like this weren't so bad, but the only books they had in the tower were boring alchemy books, and of course, Victor's private journal that he kept rigorous notes in. And that was strange. Why Victor had removed the other books, locked them away, was unknown. But then again, Victor did keep Luci on their toes with these sorts of things. Maybe he'd just gotten bored of reading Luci the same old everything, and was off to get them new books? That got their heart racing, new books were rare and few when they came, at least with non-boring books. Denny was in his little homemade snuggle sack Luci always kept slung around their neck right now, sleeping the afternoon away and overall not being much help. So Luci took matters into their own hands- they were going to look out the window and watch for anything exciting come their way.
Robert was on the run again. Well. It would be fine, right? He had only stolen the crown of the missing heir of the kingdom. No biggie. Or at least, he had thought it wouldn't be. I mean, this supposed heir had been gone for so long that they probably didn't fucking exist anymore if they ever had. Therefore, steal the crown, pop the jewels out and sell them, pay off his debts and maybe have some leftover money on the side. It had sounded like an ideal, perfect plan. He had even managed to double-cross the men he had been working with, and he would have had all the profits for himself. The only problem with that plan? The guards were hot on his tail, and he was on foot. He had to figure out some way to get away from them, and after a long, exhausting chase, thought he was finally away. Enough, at least, that he could stop and breathe. It wasn't long, though, before he heard sounds. By some stroke of luck, he managed to get into a cave, and followed it down. There was light at the end, and he popped out into a valley…with a tower. He squinted up at it, shading his eyes with his hand.
Luci noticed something moving in the clearing, but didn’t quite see what it was just yet. They paced, wondering what to do. It wasn’t Victor, Victor had left on the complete other side of the valley and wouldn’t be back until nightfall, anyways. So, what was it? Too large for an animal, too small for a monster. But what could it be, they wondered?
(are you sticking with Corona for the kingdom's name, or do you have a different one in mind?)
He studied the tower for a long moment, then made his way to it. At least he could shelter there for a while and get these people off of his tail. Hopefully. It didn't take him long to cross the small valley, and he circled the tower, searching for a way in. He didn't see a door anywhere, but he was sure that there had to be one. It would be idiotic to make a tower and not make a way in, after all.
(How about because of cough current affairs, we go with Dionysia? Bcos funky lil Greek deities.)
There was a window, one Luci was currently looking out of. They saw the man below them, and panicked. This wasn’t Victor, who was this? They didn’t even notice their hair slowly sliding out the window, as they fretted and freaked out about the situation before them. Well… they did want to see the world, or at least the lanterns. Maybe… no, that couldn’t be. Maybe, this person was their salvation? Or maybe not, but hopefully, at least, there was a way out of this. Out of this stranger, or out of the tower, they didn’t know. “Hey!” they shouted, waving as the stranger circled back around.
(sure!)
This time, when Robert circled back around the tower, there was…hair? And then he heard the shout, and he squinted up, spotting the window and a person waving out. "Oh." he said softly, then cleared his throat to call back. "Hello up there! Is there a way up into your…tower?" he glanced around again. The door must be very well-hidden, and he couldn't help but wonder why. Maybe this person was a master criminal. But why would a master criminal have such long hair? If that was indeed what this white stuff was.

Luci thought. “Um, yes, you climb.” they said. “The hair, I mean. It’s what Victor does anyways.” they added, staring down in confusion. This man didn’t seem scary, but that was to be seen. Victor had warmed them about bad things in the real world, people who would hurt them for their gift, and hurt Victor for keeping it safe. That second part was worse than the first, in Luci’s mind, they’d never had a head for self preservation.
He stared at the mass of hair for a long moment. "The…hair?" he said, quiet enough that the sound likely couldn't carry all the way up to Luci. "Alright then." he studied it for a long moment, then began to try and climb. It had to be similar to climbing a rope, right? Except it was…hair. He tried not to think about that too hard; otherwise it might fry his brain.
Luci began to help the stranger by pulling up their hair as the man climbed. “Hold on, you don’t want to kill me, right? If you plan on doing that, I will have to drop you. And you’re already about forty feet up, so I advise against that.” they said. They weren’t dumb, as soon as this stranger was up here they’d interrogate him, but until then they were fine to wait until he’d reached the top to ask about the outside world.
Robert's eyes widened a little. "As I have no clue who you are, I have no intentions of killing you." he called back. He didn't want to die, after all. And he really didn't intend on killing this strange person with their even stranger hair. The length on its own was mildly terrifying; how had it gotten this long?
