Okay so I’ve been rereading Frankenstein whilst also relistening to the Tangled soundtrack. So I decided to combine the two.
Lucifer, or Luci, has been living in a tower all their life. When you’re a monster, that’s sort of your only option, at least according to their creator, Victor Frankenstein, an alchemist that keeps to himself and above all else refuses to let Luci out of the tower. But one day, when a mysterious man by the name of Robert Walton, who claims to be a pirate without a ship, shows up on the tower’s doorstep, Luci can’t help but assist the man, who is looking for a get-rich scheme and quickly to pay off some debts. Luci wants to see the world, but how far will Victor go to keep them from doing so? Anyways yeah it’s gonna follow loosely the plot of Tangled and the original Rapunzel story, idk I came up with this idea this morning and couldn’t get it out of my head.

(Uhhh I had come up with a few loose ideas for Robert actually? Basically, sailor kid that gets in too deep with the wrong crowd, gets into a kinda Dread Pirate Roberts situation where he has to take over a pirate ship after a previous Captain, but he eventually ditches the ship and goes for a life of crime on land instead. Thus, "pirate without a ship". Steals a magic crown from the Royal Family, one that will only fit the head of the True King/Queen/Heir/Etc. and apparently it fits Luci and oh look there's a missing heir! Problem solved! Also in case you hadn't picked up on it this will be a romance.)

Appearance: 7'6" but most people are like "oh shit a NINE FOOT TALL HORROR MONSTER OH SHIT" so that's… fun. Luci has all-white hair, literally all white, with one black chunk underneath the sheer mass of hair they have, it's literally about a quarter-to-half mile long. They are pale, a tad jaundiced, and covered in scars from stitches over the years. Their eyes are pitch black, the whites all gone and only a thin gold ring for the iris. They have one eye that works a bit like a chameleon and can look in other directions outside of their other eye due to constant surgeries on their body, that was an unintended consequence. Their nose is a bit misshapen, but small, so it doesn't affect too much. Very spiky toofs, the teeth are poky and Luci could and might in a stressful situation be able to bite off a hand.
Personality: Very traditional Disney Princess, just fuckin ugly ya know? Just,,, very kind to people regardless of context, but would absolutely snap and kill a bitch if they pulled something. A very bright and loud personality, loves art in all forms and loves painting everything they can see from the tower.
Backstory: Okay so hold onto your socks this is wild. Not really. I don't know. But anyways, Luci and their mother both died during childbirth, Victor shows up on the kingdom's doorstep being all like "hey I can fix that" and does, but at a price. The royal family has to hand over their child. Initially they were just gonna backstab Victor, keep their child and live happily ever after but Victor has special shiny alchemist powers that prevent this outcome. So Vic takes the kid, names them Luci, and locks them away in a tower for all their days. They try to cut Luci's hair, not knowing that it's a facilitator for great power, and Luci obviously has none of it. Eventually Victor finds out about this and has a Talk TM with Luci about it, guilt tripping them into thinking their father and creator would die and then what would Luci do? kinda thing. So it's different from the Mother Gothel thing where Rapunzel just doesn't know, Luci knows but feels bad for leaving anyone to die.
Powers?: Various healing and destroying powers, if that makes sense. Basically, I'm riffing off of Tangled The Series's lore because why not? Also fuck anyone who says I shouldn't. Basically, there's the Good Power TM and the Bad Power TM, the Bad Power TM will show up later and for now nobody actually knows what makes Luci even Luci besides Victor. Also, side note here bcos idk where else to put it: Vic is a bit more like Varian from TTS more than Gothel. Overall harmless at first, but can be a real bitch at rejection or things not going to plan.
Other: Has a pet hedgehog, one that they have fortunately kept Victor from operating on. His name is Denny and he is to be feared.
Also, Lanterns in this universe are for funeral purposes, but they're also in this kingdom a symbol of Luci, and the hope that their real family may one day find them.

Considering that maybe this is going to be LGBT fantasy, as in, Luci will probably be accepted as they are because literally it's that easy and also I don't… really like homophobia in fiction? gasp! it's so hard to believe but like while I do like realistic fiction, I don't like seeing my fellow queers be beat up for who they are?? Idk.
And Robert will probably be chill too. Except for the crimes part. Unfortunately be gay do crimes doesn't apply here. It's be gay, be a honorable citizen.
