"Mmmm… who's gonna take care of it then, dad…?" Pitch held onto his sister's hand as they walked along behind Uktakt, too tired to really be able to function. So, he trusted Sierra and their father to guide him along to wherever it was they needed to go; he hadn't really been paying attention. "Ugh… what time is it even…?"

"Time to leave." Uktakt said harshly, not liking being questioned much despite his generally gentle demeanor. They had reached the gate, and were just about to leave when Nunan, the winged servant of Aktis, landed gracefully in front of them. "What do you think you're doing with those wayward souls there?" they asked.

"I plan on taking my children with me to the Overworld. For a… long-term visit. Possibly even a permanent stay." he said, pushing past them. Nunan seemed to grow and expand at that, towering over the group and looking significantly more monstrous than usual. Fangs lengthened, the spikes on their tail grew sharper, and their face was horrible, like a deformed mask.

@Fraust

"Bitch, I am… not in the mood for you right now…" Pitch held up one hand as he walked past Nunan, pulling his messy hair into a ponytail with the other to keep it out of his way. "What's even in the Overworld, dad? Why are we going there? Why's it so dangerous here we can't stay, huh? Couldn't you protect us? Not that I couldn't protect myself, obviously, but we wouldn't want Sierra to get hurt."

Nunan picked up Pitch by the collar and snarled in the little boy's face. "I am not here to play games, bastard child. I will eat you if you push me far enough, and I will digest your soul slowly and painfully." they growled, dangling Pitch several feet off the ground, a drop that could easily break a leg or spine.

(Nunan isn't actually that horrible, they just have a Job and they won't get Paid if they don't keep people Stuck in the Underworld.)

(Actually this system is more of a vaguely oligarchic system than anything but it has elements of bullshit in it. Sorry mini rant over.)

@Fraust

Pitch struggled against Nunan's grip, growling in frustration. "Let go of me, dammit!" He tried to kick at them, but couldn't quite reach. "Daaaad! Make him let go of me! Owwww!" He huffed angrily, not ceasing in his struggling despite how tired he still was.

Sierra was quiet, like usual, for most of the trek. She didn't bother to ask questions knowing her father definitely was not in the mood to answer them. She tagged alongside Pitch, hand-in-hand like usual. That seemed to be the only usual thing happening. With their father's cranky mood, being woken up in the middle of the night and told to pack their bags, and now Nunan snatching her brother right off from the ground. Sierra's eyes went wide and her heart stopped momentarily.

"Dad!" Sierra turned to the God. "Pitch is gonna get hurt! Make Nunan put him down!"

"Pitch won't get hurt. Put my son down, Nunan. I'll let you have free reign of my palace if you do, and let you decide the fates of the departed." he sighed. It wasn't like they were coming back for him to rule. Nunan slowly lowered the boy to the ground, but stood their ground. "You know I can't let any souls leave." Nunan gave Uktakt a sad look. "I would have done so ages ago if I could have. You'll have to kill me before that happens." but it was almost like they wanted to die, for this role was torture for them and anyone sane could see that.

@Fraust

Pitch rubbed at his throat a bit when he was set down, glaring up at Nunan and huffing angrily. "Stupid…" He muttered, returning to Sierra's side after he'd regained his composure. "At least we're leaving so we won't have to deal with them anymore, huh?" He asked Sierra, although he wasn't really expecting an answer.

Sierra shrugged. Her momentary feeling of panic had faded away, her innocent and emotionless expression returning. Sierra waited until Pitch's attention was turned away before swiping a candy from his pocket. She looked at the small green candy and scrunched her nose. She wasn't fond of the apple flavored. The girl returned the treat to her brother's pocket, slipping her hand into his.

((Shes usually pretty well dressed. Nice jeans and a button up top with some sort of jacket over it. As of now, since she didn't chance when she got up, she's wearing black leggings and a white t shirt and some dark grey tennis shoes)

Uktakt wondered how he would get through this with the least people hurt. "Nunan, please. I can't- I mean, I just… no, I won't… dammit, Nunan, let us pass or I will destroy you! I can't keep doing this, I can't protect my own damn kids here! Please, just let us pass!" he said, this close to bursting into tears.

@Fraust

"Dad?" Pitch looked up when the tone of his father's voice changed. He sounds like he's actually upset… "What's going on? What's so dangerous down here that you can't protect us from it?" He asked, holding a bit tighter to his sister's hand as he looked between Uktakt and Nunan.

@larcenistarsonist group

"Yeah dad, what is going on," Sierra asked, narrowing her eyes suspiciously at the god. Sierra had never seen her father like this and frankly is worried her. He was an all-powerful god, so why was he so upset? "Don't you even think about lying to us."

Deleted user

"You-" he stopped short of snapping at the children, giving them a defeated look. "You get to know when you get to know. In the meantime, Nunan, please. Let us pass. I won't ask again."

Nunan shrunk down to a more humanoid, reasonably sized form. "My Dark Lord, you know why I can't." their eyes were teary, they wanted them to leave more than anything but knew if they let them, a far worse fate awaited both them and the small family.

@Fraust

Pitch glanced over at his sister and then huffed, storming over to his father's side. "You gotta let us go!" He insisted, firmly crossing his arms. "I don't know why dad wants us to leave, but he wouldn't be so upset if it wasn't important, so just let us leave! Dad's the boss of you anyway, so you gotta listen to him."
