"Pitch don't introduce me to strangers," Sierra hissed into his ear and stepped out from behind him. She studied Sophie with a cold glare, determined to prove that she wasn't going to trust her. "So…" Sierra walked a little faster so she was side-by-side with Sophie. "This is the mortal world, right?" While she distracted the woman with questions, Sierra's hand went to her jacket pocket and swiped a small colorful package of watermelon gum. Sierra subtly placed the item in her own pocket.
"Sierra, put it back." Uktakt's eyes were just too fast for his daughter to keep up with, and he was tired of his children's bad behavior. He'd never raised them to be this disobediet, why were they always acting out?
"I'll introduce you to whoever I want!" Pitch stuck his tongue out a bit and curiously eyed the package of gum his sister had stolen. "And she's not a stranger, anyway. She told us her name, and I'm like 80% sure she isn't going to eat my soul, soooo…"
"What are you talking about?" She asked in an ever-so-innocent voice. She turned around and blinked her eyes, hands expertly transporting the package of gum back into Sophie's pocket behind her back. In return, she grabbed a small round object. She turned back around, popping the piece of cherry candy into her mouth and invisibly discarding the wrapper in the hood of her brother's hoodie. "Pitch, she's not going to eat your soul."
Pitch noticed Sierra eating something after a minute or two. "Hey! Where did you get candy?" He asked, huffing a bit. "You never share anything." He pulled a jolly rancher out of his pocket and stuck it in his mouth before crossing his arms.
(dsjadvn sorry this moves pretty fast and my brain went into full procrastination mode. "You can't be overwhelmed if you just don't reply!!" anyways sorry my brain is a Dumb Bitch)
Sophie didn't miss the stranger's own exhausted look. "It should take us about fifteen minutes to get there," she said. She smiled when Pitch introduced himself and his sister. "Well, it's nice to meet both of you. And yes, this would be the mortal world. Most of us humans just refer to it as Earth, though." She noticed when Sierra nabbed her gum and candy, but didn't say anything–she had plenty more at home, anyways. The woman turned her attention towards the kids' father. "Also, may I ask why you keep calling me 'trickster'? Have I done something to mislead you?" A bold question, maybe, but Sophie wanted to know what the demon thought she had done.
"The hair." Uktakt pointed out, as if it was obvious. "Purple is a very good sign of, well, tricksters. If it bothers you, I can call you something else." he said politely.
"Just call her Sophie or whatever she said her name was." Pitch shrugged a bit and stuck his hands in his pockets as he strode along, sucking idly on the jolly rancher in his mouth. "Are we almost there? I feel like I'm about to pass out or something. My brain is just like… not functioning right now."
"Shut up," Sierra lightly kicked Pitch's shin. "You're gonna be fine. Stop being a baby." She walked past her brother and grabbed a Jolly Rancher from his pocket and popped it into her mouth alongside the other candy she had swiped from Sophie.
"Why don't you shut up? Damn, I'm just trying to get a good night's sleep here." Pitch huffed indignantly and scowled, trying his best to look intimidating despite the fact that he could hardly keep his eyes open from the exhaustion. He was dragging his feet a bit as he walked, and he clearly wasn't lying about being tired.
"You can't a good night's sleep while walking, Pitch," Sierra replied with a deadpan expression. Sierra, however, was just as tired as her brother though she would never show it. She blinked slightly more, desperately trying to satisfy her drooping eyes and struggling to withhold yawns.
"I mean I'd like to get back to sleeping, damn. You and your stupid technicalities…" Pitch yawned and stumbled a bit over a tree root, nearly toppling over onto the ground, but managing to stay up on his feet for the time being. "Nngh…"
Uktakt scooped Pitch up in his many arms, carrying him gently. "You can rest your head on my shoulder, it isn't as good as your bed but it'll do for now." he said, patting Pitch on the head.
"Mmm…" Pitch rested his head on his father's shoulder and yawned, not taking long to drift off to sleep. He went limp in Uktakt's arms, his breathing relaxed and easy.
(Lil beep to make sure this doesn't die :0)
Sierra looked up at her brother snuggled into her father's arms. She would be lying if she said she didn't slightly envy it, but lying was one of the things Sierra did best so she acted unbothered and kept her eyes straight ahead. She studied the creature tied to Sophie's leash. She hadn't seen anything like it before. It had poofy silver and white fur and a tail that swished back and forth with every step. A red collar was strapped around the creature's neck and a pink tongue lolled out of its mouth.
"Um, Sophie," Sierra got the woman's attention. "What is that?" She asked, pointing to the creature she possessed.
(;-; I'm trying, sorry! Also sorry about this one being double late, I typed it up on the bus and forgot it existed as soon as I got home)
"Ah…" Sophie would have explained her hair to the demon, but… that could wait. It seemed like he had more important things to deal with. "Just 'Sophie' works. Is there any name–or title, I guess–that you want me to call you?" she asked.
Meanwhile, Cerberus had been behaving himself quite well since his incident. The dog padded up to Sierra curiously, making to sniff her arm. "Hm? Oh, that's my dog, Cerberus. He's really sweet. Soft, too! If you want, you can pet him. Let him smell you first, though. It's a dog thing, just him making sure you're not gonna hurt him."
(dsanvlkn did not see that post lemme edit)
"Uktakt, Lord of Darkness works just fine." he shrugged, walking slowly so that she could keep up, normally he was a very fast walker, something that tended to annoy his children. Edara, meanwhile, slipped out of the hole in the ground quickly, she could never be without Uktakt for long. The ground closed up, and she quickly caught up. She made a hissing noise at Sophie, but quickly stopped at the stern look she was given.
Sierra rolled her eyes at her dad's formal introduction and focused on the… dog? Yes, dog that's what it was. Sierra hesitantly reached a hand out to the animal, letting it sniff her and boop her hand with its wet nose. Sierra pulled her hand back at the moistness. "It's wet." She stated.
(Pitch isn't doing a whole lot but uh)
Pitch shifted a bit in his father's arms, huddling closer to Uktakt to try and steal his warmth. He yawned and relaxed after a few seconds of readjusting, seeming pretty comfortable.
Sophie probably shouldn't have been surprised at the long title, but her eyes widened a little. "I'll, uh, try to remember that," she said with an awkward laugh. Meanwhile, Cerberus simply wagged his tail and attempted to move closer to Sierra. "Most animals have wet noses, it's a sign that they're healthy," she explained to the girl.
