"No! You don't get to tell me to calm down! My sister just died and now you're assuming that you know my capabilities!" The scarlet grew more vibrant.
"No! You don't get to tell me to calm down! My sister just died and now you're assuming that you know my capabilities!" The scarlet grew more vibrant.
"Amelia, please!" Sandra pleaded. "You're not the only one who is upset!"
"Upset? You think this is upset? I'm past upset! I am livid."
Sandra tensed. "Amelia, please calm down. We can talk."
"No! Everyone thinks they know why limits and tries to suppress my magic! When I joined this team, you tried to control them, as if you were afraid of what I could do!"
"I never tried to control you," Sandra objected as calmly as she could.
"Maybe not you but everyone else did!" Her eyes were a vibrant red. "Do you know how that feels?!"
"Amelia, we can work something out, please," Sandra begged her.
Amelia shot her hand out towards the pot, and they started to land the plane. "You want to talk to out? Let's do it on the ground."
Sandra knew that if they landed on the ground, diplomacy would take a very different turn. "We can talk like this."
"No. We can't. Because I know how it's got a end, and it's not gonna be pretty."
"Amelia, I don't want to fight you," Sandra assured her. "Is this what Rita would've wanted?"
That struck a nerve with Amelia but she barely reacted. "It no longer matters what she would have wanted. She's dead."
"Of course it does. My guess is she died for you. Is there any other reason why she would've died?" Sandra paused for a moment.
"Yes. Because she gave up."
That wasn't an answer Sandra expected. "And you think she would've done that? Just… throw her life away?"
Amelia turned and jumped out the window, using her magic to stabilise herself in the air and land on the ground.
"Get back up to the main carrier," Sandra ordered the pilot before jumping out as well and rolling on her shoulder to land. She pushed herself up and looked evenly at Amelia. "Don't do this."
"Do what? Stand up for what's right? Stand up for those who also feel their powers are being suppressed?"
"I'm not suppressing your powers," Sandra objected. "And if you want to kill me to prove that… go right ahead. But promise me, before you do anything, think of Rita."
"I don't want to kill anyone," Amelia fired back. "That's why I'm out here."
"Well, what do you want to do?" Sandra asked, eyeing Amelia cautiously.
"Show what I can do," Amelia replied, shoving a hand towards Sandra. Her magic started to push against Sandra's throat.
Sandra's gasp was choked back. "Amelia… don't…" she pleaded. Her voice was thin.
Amelia smiled thoughtfully. "I don't believe I'm doing anything wrong, exactly."
