Sandra grimaced and tried desperately for breath.

A flash of memory made Amelia's hand release and drop, allowing Sandra to breathe again.

Sandra fell onto her hands and knees and coughed heavily, almost feeling like she would throw up. After about a minute, she stood up again and looked at Amelia. "Why did you stop?"

"That is on a need to know basis," Amelia spat. "And you are not on that list."

"I'm just trying to help," Sandra replied, her voice a small step above a whisper.

"I don't want your help," Amelia hissed.

"Why?" she asked. Her voice was slowly returning to normal. Slowly.

"The only person who ever wanted to really hell me is not dead. Put it together."

"That's not true. Amelia, I want to help you," Sandra urged.

"No, you don't! No one ever does! They always have ulterior motives!"

"If you can tell me my 'ulterior motive', I'll stop," Sandra challenged.

"Again, need to know basis," Amelia fired back.

Sandra began to approach her. "What else is on a need to know basis?"

"Everything that has nothing to do with you."

Sandra frowned, showing irritation for the first time. "Amelia, why are you doing this?"

"I've already told you. You're smart, decipher it."

Sandra narrowed her eyes. "If you want to kill me, then kill me. If you want to torture me, torture me."

"I don't want to kill or torture you," Amelia said. "I just want you to see."

"See what? Show me," Sandra said firmly.

"Everything I can do!" Amelia yelled.

Sandra gritted her teeth. "Amelia, you don't have to do this."

"Yes, I do! You don't get it!"

"I'm trying to!" she replied, visibly frustrated for the first time.

"Well you're not trying hard enough!" Amelia practically screamed.

Sandra took a heavy breath. "What do you want me to do?"
