'Yeah, and you aren't a hassle. You're just going through your own thing, and I know you can't help about what you hear, or see." Fox sits next to her.
'Yeah, and you aren't a hassle. You're just going through your own thing, and I know you can't help about what you hear, or see." Fox sits next to her.
Melanie's grip on her hands tighten slightly, but she remains still.
"Will we get out of here? Should we? For all I know, the world could have ended, and we're the last ones alive…" Melanie looked at her hands, watching them twitch subtly.
"We'll get out of here, even if the world ended, we'll still have each other… hopefully." Fox smiles, trying to comfort Melanie.
Melanie shies away from him momentarily, her face contorting a little. "And Reign…maybe. If he's not too crazy or weird."
Fox shrugs. "Maybe him… I don't think he's too bad. Then again, I don't think we've seen all sides of him, but what we have seen seems fine."
"Mhm," Melanie stands and walks towards the hallway, her face looking down.
"Do you need help, Reign?"
"Actually, matter of fact, yes. There's a locked door over here, and I can't get it open. There's a hole in the wall I think one of you two can fit through, I know I can't."
"I'm the thinnest of us three; I'll do it." Melanie's face went serious for a second, her voice firm. "No killing Fox. If you do, I'll-I'll make sure you never escape. Is that clear?"
Reign nods. "I won't kill him. I don't harm guests, much less try to kill them." Reign shows her where the hole is, the edges are rough, but don't seem sharp enough to cut past the skin.
Melanie goes through the crack, wary of where the edges were. She manages to go into the next room with a minor scrape. She looks around for anything of importance.
There seems to be a key rack with a couple of keys on it, one of them seems to have a name tag on it saying "Lab doors."
(A little more room description would have been better, but I'm not that picky)
Melanie grabs all the keys that are labeled (for future use possibly) and heads out.
When she walks out, she sees Reign asleep in Fox's lap.
"I have no clue what happened… but I'm fine with it I guess? I don't know how to feel about this…"
"Uh…I'll get back to you on that. I found keys…one of them says," she takes about a minute to read it (she hasn't been taught, but I don't want to make her dumb), "Lab doors? I haven't seen anything that would match it though. I don't think so, anyways."
"Huh… sounds like it might be useful later. You can go on and explore a bit without me if you want, since I don't think I'll be moving for a while cause someone decided my lap was a nice enough resting spot."
"Um, okay?" Melanie hesitated before deciding to wander. She didn't like the idea of being alone. Her fears were aimed towards monsters, and her having a breakdown without anyone to comfort her. Yes, her greatest fear was loneliness.
The fog man appears, waving. "Hello again…"
"You. I-I don't think that I… You're not real! I-I have friends here… And they-they're better than any illusion in my head!" Melanie has her eyes forced shut, her face aimed at the ground.
"I-I… I know i'm not actually real but… I-I… I'll just go if you don't want me around…" He disappears again.
(He sounds a little too realistic to be from Melanie's Schizophrenia)
"Okay. It's okay. I'm okay. We're all okay." Melanie says, trying to comfort herself, and she repeats it as she explores.
(Oh, I thought it was fine. I'll take that into account.)
The room she enters seems to be unusually clean for this place. Everything is still covered in dust, but seems to be organized with neat stacks of papers and cabinets, there's two doors, one is boarded up, while the other is locked with a key lock.
(HmMmMmMmMmM… i WoNdEr WhAt ThAt Is?)
Melanie tries the keys (not Lab Door keys), finding it unsuccessful, and then she tries the key labeled "Lab Door."
It unlocks, and leads to a room that looks like the one she was just in, but in worse condition. Cabinets have fallen, landing and cracking against the floor. Still everything looks like a organized mess. There's only one door this time, it's slightly ajar.
Melanie's footsteps are cautious and soft, light as to not hurt herself or break anything. She walks cautiously to the door, and, without much thought, opens it further, her curiosity at its peak.
It looks the same as the two rooms before, but looks even worse, with tiles broken, cabinets fallen on the floor, and papers scattered everywhere. There's no more doors to continue that way, just walls.
