Melanie nods, and lays on the floor, staring at the ceiling. Her eyes were a bit glazed over, looking both into reality and her own world, just barely telling the difference between the two. She mumbles something inaudible every so often into space, talking to her friends only visible to her.
"Do you know why you're here?" Melanie said in barely a whisper to Fox. "I know I'm not normal, and I should be here, but…it could be worse, really. Of course, it also could be way better."
"I… don't know why I am here. All I really know is that I am here for some reason." Fox sighs.
"Huh.You ever wonder what it's like? Outside? It's been a long time since I've touched plants…" Melanie seemed distant and at ease.
"Kind of… I don't really think of that anymore."
(Did the other two people just disappear…?)
"Get some rest. I probably won't. Too many things in my head." Melanie looked to her right, towards Fox. "I'll watch over, make sure the monsters don't get us."
(I dunno.)
"Okay." Fox tries to go to sleep.
(Bump…?)
Melanie nods, and stares off into space, keeping quiet, but not falling asleep.
Fox is asleep, snoring. There seems to be someone watching them.
(Does/Should Melanie notice this?)
(Sadly I think I know who it is…if it's not fog-man)
"Hm? Hello?" Melanie says, only half awake. She suppresses a yawn and stands, clutching her shoulder, turning to face the viewer. "Who are you?" Melanie tried to keep calm and be bold, but she had to bite her lip to keep herself from cowering.
(You don't :P)
They watch her, keeping their distance. "It's not important to know who I am…"
"But everyone's important…that's what he said," Melanie gestured to Fox silently, "at least, he says I am, and even though I doubt his words, it's nice to pretend like they are true." Melanie hesitated before taking a small step back, glancing at the floor.
They take a quick glance at Fox, then turn back to Melanie. They step forward. "How you two get down here? I thought this place was impossible to get in and out of."
I-we fell…I-I didn't mean to disturb you. I'm sorry. The floor-it gave way, and…I'm sorry." Melanie was slightly scared of the being, not knowing what it'd do to her.
"It… fell?" They look and notice the rubble. "Geez. Well anyway, welcome to the old labs, or as I call it, my eternal prison. And don't worry about bothering me, it gives me something to do."
"Uh…h-hi. I-I'm Melanie…Mel for short. Um…I'm kind of insane, and, well…he isn't, I don't think…" Melanie was a mix of flustered, worried, and nervous.
"You can call me Reign, and I'm a bit different myself. I suffer from Dissociative identity disorder, so if I change personalities and act different, and I am sorry about that. I know one of my personalities can be quite, harmful, at times. I won't try to harm you though." Reign has a slight smirk on.
"Reign…huh. Cool… How-how long have you been stuck here?" Melanie seemed cautious, but liked the company of Reign.
(I'm sorry I'm not writing a super-long essay, I don't have many ideas rn)
Reign shrugs. "I don't know anymore… lost track of time a long while ago. Probably more or less a couple of years. At least I have some guests now."
