(Have fun)
(Sleep is quite fun. Especially when I can remember the weird ass dreams my brain concocts)
His eyebrows furrowed slightly as he rubbed his nose quite aggressively. "I'm tired as shit."
"Alright, I know an Inn we can head to to get some rest." She turned around and beckoned for him to follow.
He followed her without question, wincing as he scrunched his shoulders up.
It didn't take long for her to find the inn. It was probably the tallest building in the city, besides the castle. She opened the polished wood door for Runner.
He could feel his energy draining by the second as he walked through the door, battling to keep himself awake. Running for that long while carrying another person sucked all of his energy out through the soles of his feet.
Tessa held up two fingers, and the person behind the counter tossed her two keys. Tessa caught them easily, then linked her arm with Runner's and led him upstairs.
He offered no resistance as his eyes fluttered, leaning into her slightly as they walked for support.
She wrapped her arm around him instead to hold him up. "Almost there. Don't fall asleep on me yet," she murmured.
"No promises," he slurred out, nearly tripping over his own two feet.
Not thinking he'd make it long enough for her to unlock both of their rooms, she opened the nearest one that they've been assigned to and led him to the bed.
He flopped down onto the bed as soon as they got close enough, curling up into a ball with a quick, "Thanks."
"Hey, you carried my fat ass. Just returning the favor." She shrugged it off and set his key on the bed stand. "I'll be across the hall," she said before turning to leave.
He waved goodbye blindly, closing his eyes and shoving his face into the pillow.
She closed the door and unlocked her room before slipping inside. She wasn't tired, but she could use this time to figure out what the hell they were to do about preparation. She rubbed her chin, then smirked. She threw herself into the chair in front of the desk and pulled out a pencil and some paper, then began testing her diplomatic skills.
The sound of snoring sneaked through her door, coming from Runner's room as he slept.
"Damn, he's out like a light." However, she paid it no mind as she continued writing the letter. It was a good thing Cin had taught her Nazekian.
After about 2 hours, Runner sat up yawning loudly as he rubbed his eyes. He didn't feel much better, but it would do for the time being. He got up to his feet and walking out of his room, knocking on Tess's.
"Goddamnit," she hissed out loud, crumpling up the hundredth piece of paper and chucking it around the room. She groaned and slumped over the desk, grumbling a "Come in," in response to Runner's knock.
(I vote no more physical activity for me anymore. It's a health hazard)
He walked in after a moment of struggling with the door handle. His hair was an absolute mess, sticking up in random places like a bird's nest. His eyes had slight bags under them from probably a need for more sleep, and a sleepy smile rested on his lips. "What time is it?"
"Half past two," she mumbled without even looking at the clock. She picked herself up and grabbed yet another piece of paper, attempting to write one yet again.
"Whatcha doing?" he asked, avoiding the discarded balls of paper to look ovr her shoulder.
"Attempting to remember how to write in Nazekian so I can ask the dragon warriors to help us. So far, not much luck."
