"I'm surprised your parents haven;t gotten tired yet." Avery laughed. "So, you came here a lot that cool. When did you come to America?" Avery rested her hand on her cheek waiting his response.
Noah was just sitting there quietly, waiting for his food to arrive. Noah had notices yawn and his hair twirling. "Are you tired?"
"Nah, I'm not tired… and I came to America when I was thirteen." Lin explained. "I came here on my own after stealing enough money from my parents to purchase a plane ticket. "I've lived here on my own ever since, and I've had no contact with my family. I doubt they miss me anyway." He shrugged a bit.
He's telling more stuff to Avery than he did with me. Noah glared at Avery and she back off on the questions. "Sure you're not tiring? It must have been tired unpacking my boxes." Noah pushed his glasses and rubbed the tip of his nose. Their food came moments later and Noah perked up. "Here." He held out two fries for Lin to take a bite of.
"Nah, I'm really okay! I carry stuff heavier than those boxes all the time." Lin tentatively accepted the fries and examined them curiously. "Oh! I've seen these before! We just call them 'chips'." He stuck a fry in his mouth and hummed softly. "But yeah, these ones are pretty good. When are we supposed to go to your friend's place for the game?" He asked.
"Yea but that's later on tonight. Just focus on eating. Then, we'll go back to our dorm, play a mini game of Truth or dare and then go over my friends place. Is that plan okay with you?" Noah pushed more food in his own mouth. "This is so delicious!" Noah was exploding excitement almost eating the whole thing in under 1 minute.
"Yeah, that sounds fine with me! These taste different than the ones I've had at home." He hummed thoughtfully as he stuck another fry in his mouth. "Probably less healthy or something. They taste better, I think? Just different." He looked over at Noah inhaling all of the food.
Noah felt eyes on him and imminently looked over to Lin. "Ah-" He swallowed the fries that he was currently chewing. "Y-Yes?" Noah wiped his hands on the nearest napkin and became a little embarrassed. After all Noah was eating as quickly as possible not realizing that the guy liked was sitting right next to him. I totally forgot he was here! What if he thinks I'm weird now? I didn't realize that he already ate food like this. I really don't know that much about him.
"Nothing. Are you ready to go now?" Lin asked curiously. Pretty much every time he saw something he didn't quite understand, he wrote it off as simply being an American thing and moved on. "We gotta practice the game thing so I know how to when we do it with your friends."
"Of course, excuse us." Noah put his left overs in a bag and stood out of the booth. He waited for Lin to stand up as well before he started walking. Noah wanted to ask a question but he wasn't sure if Lin would tell him. Lin did just tell Avery almost everything he told Noah. "Hey can I ask you a question?"
"A question? Yeah, sure, what is it?" Lin asked, keeping close to Noah's side as he walked. He took hold of the other's hand again, figuring that he would want to. He didn't mind answering questions, honestly, so he was happy to answer whatever Noah wanted.
Noah's face became light red. "Um…" He looked away from their hands and tried not to focus on it. "Why did you run away, what happened with your parents?" Noah held his hand tight only because it was too warm and comfortable to let go of. "I don't exactly know if I'm prying to much into your life for someone you just met."
"Oh, um…" Lin considered how much detail he should go into for a moment. "Basically, my parents were kinda trying to raise an army of children. So, we went through some… pretty intensive training. Looking back on it, it would definitely be considered abuse. I didn't want to be a part of that anymore, so I left. I'm a bit worried about my siblings, though…"
"I hope they'll be alright. I mean, you turned out fine. You said you left when you were 13, so how come you don't really know what things are or how to react around people." Noah made a left turn and walked into their dorm. There was one more place he had to show them but he figured he'd do it after he explained.
"I wasn't exactly allowed to leave my house…" Lin flushed a bit and looked away awkwardly. "Like, ever. All my knowledge of the world came from my parents, and the information they gave me was… limited, to say the least. We didn't really play games or anything at my house. It was either school or training with very little free time."
"I see. Well, I will try and make this the best college experience you have ever had. There is one more place I want to show you." He pulled him along the hallway of the first floor, stopping in front a room labeled the wreck room. "This is where we all come to hang out if one of us didn't have an apartment. You can hang out here if you can't get a hold of me or my friends, if you feel comfortable. We won't go in now cause we have to play our game, but we'll go in another time, okay?" Noah continued walking stopping at the elevator, he clicked the up button and waited. "Got any questions for me?"
Lin nodded a bit as Noah spoke, examining the room curiously. "Alright…" He turned with him and kept walking so that they could head back to the room. "Questions for you?" He asked. "Um… well, I've been talking a lot about my family and origins. What about you? Do you have any family members that you know of? Are you from around here or from further away?"
"My family is a bit scattered. I have my Mom, Dad, and little sister here, but all my relatives are in Japan. Even though my family is Japanese I hardly know any. Every year we go over the visits my cousin and such, but since college I haven't really seen them as often. When I say a lot of relatives. I mean a lot. I have like 26 female cousin and like 10 male cousins. Then their parents have sisters and brothers and it just keeps going up. I think my family has another baby on way too." Noah walked into the elevator when it came down and pressed floor 9.
"Huh. Fascinating. If I've got any cousins, I haven't ever met them. I just know I've got a lot of siblings…" Lin kept close to Noah, following him into the elevator and up to the ninth floor. "I'm trying to think how old they'd be now… um…" He considered for a moment. "Rem was six when I left, so he's probably twelve now. Juno would be… fifteen. Luria would be about seventeen. Anise would be twenty one, Friese would be twenty three, and Kel would be… about twenty six. Christ, it's been a while since I've seen them…"
"Hey, you'll definitely see them again. I'm sure they've gotten through their hardships and became someone great. Just like you." Noah took out his key and opened the door room. He stretched when he got in, feeling tight. "You can sit on either bed it doesn't matter." Noah took out his food and placed it in the microwave. He took it out moments later and started eating.
"Yeah, hopefully…" Lin sighed and sat down on one of the beds. "I hope they're still doing alright. I can't afford a ticket to go see them or anything, so… I don't know how to check on them. I really just wish I could get them to come here to America so they would be safe."
"Once you get a stable job and get enough money to you can go and visits them or take them on a plane ride here. I would love to meet them." Noah locked the door and placed key on his desk. He hopped up on the same bed Lin was on continued to eat. "Tell me about them when we get back from the apartment. How you play truth or dare is game that like 20 people can play if they wanted to. Basically someone starts, you asked them truth or dare. truth is when they ask you a question and you have to answer truthfully. Dare is when someone asks you to do something and you have to it once that task is done you go around and ask someone else truth or dare and the pattern continues." Noah explained. "So, truth or dare?" He asked.
Lin listened closely to the explanation of the game, trying his best to understand it. It seems simple enough… it might be hard to come up with things for other people, though, especially since I don't really know them. "Alright, I think that makes sense, um… I'll start with Truth. It seems easier." He looked up at Noah while he waited for the question.
(I'm actually trying to draw all of Lin's siblings and it's a pain qwq. I've got his three younger siblings so far, but none of the older)

"Lets see." He thought for a moment. It took him a little bit to come up with a question considering the amount of information he knew. "How you ever stole from someone?" It was the only question he could come up with cause anyone other question he would probably ask what it meant. Noah starred at his fries and eating them slowly once he finished he moved onto his chicken nuggets.

"Have I? Yeah, I stole money from my parents to buy a plane ticket here. If you're asking how I did it, I just broke into the vault we keep in our living room. I left most of the money. Didn't take much more than I needed for the ticket." Lin shrugged a bit. "So do I ask you one now, or…?"

"Wow, yeah, yeah you ask me one now." He was prepared for anything. Even if it was lie, truth or dare. Noah had played this game way to often with his friends. *Considering he doesn't know that much about me, this could either work in my favor or turn out horribly.
