Lin followed Noah closely, not wanting to be left behind. He nodded along as he spoke, showing that he was listening. He glanced up at the question, seeming a bit confused. "Hmm? What do you mean?" He asked curiously. Met anyone? Not really, but… I'm not entirely sure what he's trying to ask…
"I just mean up has their been anyone that you liked more than just a friend in your life. Not now because like you just got here, but was there anyone life that. Someone who cared for you or were you alone?" His voice got subtle after a few words. He wasn't sure how to ask if he had a girlfriend at all. Noah took himself out of his thoughts and perked up his ears so he could here his answer.
"Oh! Um… no, not really." Lin laughed nervously. "I was only ever with my family during my childhood, and I was alone from age thirteen until now. I never exactly had the opportunity. I think one of my older brothers might be dating someone, though. But it's been a while since I talked to him, so I could be wrong…"
"I see…" He walked up to his class and gave a light sigh. "Here it is it's pretty much this just like 6 or 7 times a day. I only have 5 classes even though I'm going into the doctor profession. So if you look at the look it will say the building number and the floor next to it. Also what class. He just call this the library building it's easier to remember because this is only building that has a library so big. You actually have a few classes in here you just fallow the floor pattern and you'll get there. The next building is actually right across from here. That where I have most of my classes." He lead him outside and a building was there almost bigger than the dorms is the dorms were tall. "Pretty big building huh."
Lin nodded a bit as he listened, wondering whether or not he should be taking notes to remember all of this new information. "Right, um… that all makes sense. What else do I need to know?" He asked curiously, wanting to make sure that he knew everything that he might need to.
"You only have one class in here so you won't be in as much. We may cross paths. The last building is a little farther down. You're luck cause your classes are all right next to each other. Last year I had to travel from one side to the other. It's a good workout though. The gift shop is also near where you are-" Noah's phone started to ring which cut him off. "Give me a second." Noah picked up the phone. "Hey, whats up." He paused for a minute and placed his hand on his hip. "Showing a freshman around…..not like that…..I don't know, why would I ask him that, you're such a jerk I swear…..I'm rooming with him….I don't know….sure I'll ask him, where are you anyway…..yeah okay…..classes haven't started yet so I guess it's fine…..I'm gonna kill you when see you." He hung up the phone and went back to walking.
"Yeah, I guess I am lucky." He laughed softly. "I'll just have to exercise on my own time so I don't get out of shape." He fell quiet when Noah took the call, not wanting to interrupt. He seemed a bit confused and curious about the side of the conversation he was hearing, though. "Who was that?" He asked curiously after Noah hung up. "What did he want you to ask me?"
Noah went back into his happy voice. "That was just my idiot friend. He wanted to know if you wanted to hang out with us tonight. We're all going to his apartment and hanging out. I told it was fine for me since I have nothing better to do. He also wants me to meet up with the rest of my friends including you. What about you?" Noah kept walking, placing his phone in his pocket. He turned the corner into the next building.
"Oh! Yeah, that's fine with me!" Lin replied, obviously a bit taken aback. He'd never exactly had friends to hang out with before, after all. He didn't know how to interact with groups of people other than his family all that well. "I guess I could just follow you since I don't know how to get there, obviously."
"Perfect." Noah walked Lin into the next building. This is what we call the sports building. Kind of like where all the sport kids go to hang out and do whatever. His group of friends were hanging out at the end of the hallway. He waved to them and they waved back.
"Noah!" A guy next to him almost tackled him if he didn't have perfect balance.
"Ethan, you know what I'm going to say right?" Noah looked annoyed.
"Yeah, I'm sorry, I'll get off you now. So?" Ethan looked at Lin, looking at him up and down. "This is the freshman you were talking about. Hey do you know if you're gay yet?" He asked.
"Ethan!" Noah hit him hard on the head. "Sorry about him."
Lin seemed interested in the sports building. I can probably keep training here to stay fit… He got snapped out of his thoughts when another guy almost tackled Noah, obviously a bit startled. He was even more confused and taken aback at the question, his face flushing a bit. "H-Huh?" Odd question… "Um… I dunno… why do you ask?"
(Truth or Dare, Truth or Dare, Truth oR DARE-)
(read my mind)
"I'm just trying to look after you bro!" Ethan rubbed his head. "Huh? Oh no reason. He hasn't told you yet. Got it anyway…" Than stood up and held out his hand. "Nice to meet you, my name is Ethan."
"I think he already knows. You don't have to pay attention to him. Anyway this is Aria, Krist, and Avery. Everyone this is Lin, my roommate." Noah glared at Ethan. "He's a new so go easy on him alright?"
"We're playing truth or dare tonight so be ready!" Ethan smirked.
"Shut up!" Noah hit him over the head again. "Sorry, we were all going to the place I mention before if you wanna come."
(Lmao)
"Nice to meet you as well…" Lin shook Ethan's hand politely, still seeming a bit flustered and unsure. This is probably pretty normal group behavior… I should try and get used to it. He had never heard of Truth or Dare either, and he looked very confused. Games weren't exactly commonplace in his household. "Forgive me if this is something I should know already, but what is Truth or Dare?" He asked curiously. Maybe they'll assume it's just a British thing to not know? I'm not sure…
Noah was about to say something, but then he remember what he had been through and instead just smiled. "I'll teach you later we can even play a mini game of it when we get back the dorm. It'll be like a get to know you game." Noah lightly reached this hand up to ruffle his hair. "You'll get the hang of it in no time." Noah gave them a look that said 'Don't say anything'. "Anyway, you've never been to McDonald's huh. You may or may not love it if you like fries." Noah held out his hand urging Lin to take it.
"Oh, okay! Thanks!" Lin smiled at the offer, glad that his roommate was willing to help him out. He'd probably have to explain why he hadn't experienced ordinary things, though… Being homeless for a few years didn't explain the thirteen years of his life he was living with his family, during which time most people would have gotten the opportunity to learn about things like Truth or Dare and McDonald's. When Noah held out his hand, Lin took it, figuring that was what he was supposed to do.
How can someone be so cute and hot at the same time. That is a complete mystery. Noah led him off campus not letting go of his hand. It was warm outside but somehow his hand was freezing cold. Lin's hand was nice and warm, so letting go wasn't an option. He fallowed behind his friends as they talked about random things, girlfriends, boyfriends, classes, summer. So He just let them talk as he walked behind with Lin. "You've held hands with someone before right?" Noah tuck his other hand in his pocket.
Lin walked along beside Noah contentedly, seemingly still pretty clueless. He figured this was just a normal American thing to do, and so went with it without a second thought. He looked up at Noah's question. "Hmm? Oh, no, I haven't. Is that weird too?" He asked. "Blimey, I'm bad with the customs today…" He sighed and bumped his forehead with his palm.
(Lin: actually has no clue what's going on ever)
(He's so freaking adorable!!!!!!!!!!)
Noah laughed at his response. "You're so adorable. It's not weird." Noah intertwined their fingers and the tucked his hand hand into his loose hoodie pocket. "Much better." I can use this to my advantage. "Don't do this with anyone else but me okay, think of it as a best friend thing just between us two?" Noah smiled genuinely for the first time in a while. "Lin, you're a good person. Anyway, if you don't like fries, I'm going to have to disown you."
(He's trying his best lol)
"Oh, okay! That makes sense." Lin hummed softly to himself, seeming content to let Noah hold onto his hand. He was obviously pretty clueless, but glad to think that he was acting culturally normal. "I don't think I've ever had fries before, but I'm sure I'll like them! If you like them so much, they're probably good."
"Indeed they are. If you ever feel uncomfortable to answer a question then I can answer it for you. Just tap my leg under the table alright?" Noah walked into the restaurant and sat down at one of the booth seat while the others when to go order. "I'm guessing you have no idea what anyone this is on the menu right?" Noah finally let go of his hand, feeling a little cold after wards. He handed him the menu seeing if he knew it or not.
"Ah… not really." Lin read over the menu, humming softly to himself. "There's some pictures, though! So that's helpful. We ate a lot of stuff that was really healthy back at home. At least according to my parents." He shrugged a bit. "I'm assuming you know what this stuff is, so do you have any recommendations?"
"Fries, coke and chicken nuggets. That's what I always get. I get two of everything do you can just have mine and if you don't like it I can always drink and eat it for you." Noah laughed.
"You are the most unhealthy person to ever walk the earth and how you're still skinny is a mystery to me." Avery walked over say sat down the the table. She sat across from the two of them. "They're paying, I'm just sitting down. So where are you from Lin?"
"Okay!" Lin looked up when someone else joined them, smiling and waving. "I'm from Cambridge in England! What about you?" He asked curiously, briefly running his fingers through his hair to neaten it up a bit. Although he was born and raised in England, it wasn't like he actually traveled around it enough or even left his house enough to know a ton about it. He only really knew the history from what his parents had taught him.
That was hot…not the time Noah!
"You're from England. I find that to be sexy in a man, but you're already taken, so I won't get in the way." Avery sighed. "So where's you're family usually they stay around for a while before heading back?"
Noah sighed and leaned his head on Lin's shoulder.
"Taken…?" Lin seemed a bit confused, but Avery moved on too fast for him to really linger on the topic. "My family's still in England. They never left." He yawned a bit and twirled a lock of his hair around his finger as he spoke. "I've got six siblings. Three older, three younger. In order, there's Kel, Friese, Anise, me, Luria, Juno, and Rem. It's been a few years since I've seen any of them, though…"
