The sounds compelled her curiosity to investigate, and Trinity slowly entered the sketchy building. Almost instantly, she was hit with an immense wave of sounds, smells, and flashing lights.
Axton took a deep breath, stepping out of the alleyway to head back the way he came.
"You lost, sister?" Trinity turned to face another girl in the bar. She was holding onto her drink like her life depended on it while leaning against a bar stool.
"Um, a little," the angel admitted. She shifted uncomfortably as a guy across the bar winked at her.
"You gotta relax, you're so tight," the girl said. She thrust her drink at Trinity. "Drink this, babe, you'll feel better."
Trinity took the can in her hands and sniffed it questioningly. "What is this?"
"Don't think, just do it!" The girl reached out and tilted the drink to Trinity's lips. The liquid rushed down her throat, and she coughed a little as the alcohol hit her system.
Axton kept his face as straight as he could as he walked down the street, making a beeline for his favorite club. It was meant to be some 70s throwback theme, and they had good music and booze.
The girl looped her arm around Trinity's shoulders and pulled her up to the bar. "Whaddya want?" she asked messily.
"Uh… I don't know," Trinity replied. Her mind was beginning to become fuzzy, even after such a small drink.
The girl grinned. "Two tequila smashes!" Then she looked Trinity solemnly in the eyes. "I'm Julie, who're you?"
"My name's Trinity," the angel replied. She could feel herself beginning to relax.
"Pretty name!" Julie exclaimed. "Wanna dance?"
"But didn't we just order drinks?" Trinity asked.
"They'll be ready later. C'mon!"
Axton stumbled through the door, going straight to the bar.
"Axy! The usual?"
"Might need something stronger, Jimmy. Think I fucked up bad tonight."
Trinity let out a stream of high pitched giggles as Julie looped their arms together and dragged her onto the crowded dance floor. The girls danced together to the thumping music. Trinity quickly forgot all that had happened with the demon and her tarnished soul.
"Aw, c'mon, Axy, ya say that every other night, you never ask for stronger."
"Nah, man, it was a real bad one tonight." He said, fidgeting.
"What, fucked it up with a girl?"
"A girl who was a…client."
Julie tapped Trinity's shoulder heavily and practically shouted in her ear, "I'm gonna get our drinks!"
"Okay!" Trinity yelled back. Just seconds after Julie left her alone, a pair of hands slipped onto her waist. Trinity quickly turned to see the guy who had winked at her when she'd first walked in.
"Hey," he greeted.
"Hi?"
"You're gorgeous."
"Thank you," she mumbled, a smile curling on her lips.
Axton gratefully took his drink, quickly knocking it back. "Thanks, Jimmy."
Julie approached the bar and stumbled right next to Axton. "Two tequila smashes?"
Jimmy nodded, placing the two drinks in front of her.
Axton glanced up, running a hand through his hair. "Hey, Julie."
"Hey… you!" she replied with a giggle. It was clear she didn't remember his name.
Axton rolled his eyes slightly, though the actual lacked any real annoyance. "How's the day job been?"
"Shit," she replied, rolling her eyes to mimic him. "It's so boring… that's why I come here to have fun!"
"Of course." He said, nodding slightly.
Julie's lips parted to reply, but a high-pitched shriek from the dance floor stopped her before she could start.
Trinity appeared to be in a very uncomfortable position with the guy who had wanted to dance with her. She was trying to move towards Julie and Axton (who she hadn't noticed yet), but he kept tugging her back by her hips.
"C'mon honey," he complained.
Axton bit back a sigh. She just can't keep herself outta trouble-! "Let the girlie go, jackass." Axton said calmly, slowly turning around to face them.
The guy released her, sending Trinity stumbling forward. Julie somehow managed to catch her. Seeing the drinks on the bar, Trinity barely hesitated before she swallowed the entire glassful of liquid as quickly as she could.
Axton raised an eyebrow. "Easy, girlie, ya don't want a hangover."
She narrowed her eyes at him. "Don't tell me what I don't want."
"It's only your first time, girlie."
"Stop calling me that."
"I'm just saying!" He said, holding his hands up.
