He grinned "haha, very funny." he shook his head and fiddled with her fingers
She laughed lightly, the grin still on her face, "So, any more questions?" She asked, watching him with a smile.
He thought for a moment "do I have competition?"
She shook her head "Not currently," Scarlett smiled "And for me? Anyone else catching your eye?"
"Other than you, no." he said seriously "and no one will."
She smiled softly and nodded, squeezing his hand lightly, "So, tell me about yourself."
"ok, what would you like to know?" he asked, glancing at her
"Anything, your family, your childhood, anything really," She said with a shrug, looking around the restaurant.
"My family, ha, that's a complicated one. My mother died when me and Theo were both young from cancer and our dad wasn't around much. We were raised by our aunt and her husband. While my brother was out making his own life, I helped out in the house and raised the younger kids. That's how me and Lindsey got so close. After a while, I left for our local Music college and got my teaching degree in that area. Now I'm here," He glanced over at her "and how about you? how'd you end up singing like an angel?"
She blushed slightly and looked at him, "I wouldn't say I sing like an angel, more like…a normal human being that's just trying to make a living from their hobby." She smiled "And I already told you how I got here, my family and life is pretty boring besides that."
He shrugged "angels come in different ways." he glanced up as Lindsey came over with the food and smiled "finally, I'm starved."
"Time to try this spicy burger," Scarlett said, bouncing in her chair like a little kid with a smile, "Thanks Lindsey."
she nodded "no prob, and for the Jassie, …shrimp." she winked and walked away with a grin. He rolled his eyes and threw a french fry at her
She laughed and looked at him, picking up one of the fries from her plate and looking at it, "Alright, first spicy fry, then I'm going to try the burger." She popped it in her mouth quickly with a small smile.
He watched with a smile "spicy?" he asked, now kinda curious
She shrugged "Wasn't too bad, I could tell that there was a little heat, but it wasn't bad." She turned to the burger and grinned "Now, to try this."
He started to eat his food "how do you do that? eat something spicy," he shook his head "I could never."
"Spicy food is the best, along with anything even remotely sweet." She grinned "It took me a while to get used to spicy things, but you get used to it eventually." She picked up the burger carefully and studied it, still grinning.
He shook his head "mmm, no I'm good, is there a word for people who are anti spicy? Cuz I think I'm one."
She laughed lightly "My siblings and mom would agree with you, my dad loves spicy food." She took a big bite of the burger and shrugged.
"you have siblings? how many?" he asked, eating his shrimp and spitting it out, grabbing the water that was next to him "Lindsey….."
"Two brothers, James who's older than me by two years and Toby, who's younger than me by two and a half years." She said, taking another bite of her burger. She raised an eyebrow when she saw him spit out the shrimp, "What's wrong?" She asked.
he gulped down half the cup "she..put..something..spicy…in them." he managed. Once his mouth wasn't burning, he turned to her "that's cool, do they live around here?"
She nodded "James is going to college in Oregon but Toby goes to the same college as me." She chuckled slightly and looked at the shrimp, "How spicy are they?"
he shoved the plate towards her "ghost pepper…and ths great that you all are in college. what are they majoring in?"
