She grinned and set her burger down, taking one of the shrimp, "James is going for something in the engineering fiend I think, and I have no clue about Toby," She took a bite and shrugged, her mouth slowly growing hotter, "These, have a little spice." She said, hiding a small cough.
"a little?" He looked at her in astonishment "you'll be fine with the gohst pepper"
"By a little I mean more than a little," She coughed again quietly and felt her face grow a pale red, "I'm excited to see what the actual pepper tastes like."
Lindsey came over with two glasses of water and a grin "how's the food you two?" Jasper glared at her "fantastic." He cracked a smile "you jerk,"
"Ah now Jassie, no calling me names in front of your girlfriend, we don't want to disappoint her." Lindsey skipped away to grab another plate of shrimp, returning shortly "here ya go."
Scarlett laughed lightly, watching the two of them joke. She picked her burger back up and continued eating, smiling at Jasper lightly.
"Thank you," he said with a smile glancing over at Scarlet, "I think she wasted the spice on my shrimp instead of on your burger."
"I can tell that there is a little spice, but it's really not bad." She said with a smile, almost finished with the burger, "it's nothing like the spice on the shrimp."
He popped one in his mouth and nodded "they're good." he smiled "you sure you want to be eating something spicy right before you're going to eat a ghost pepper?"
Scarlett nodded, finishing off the burger, "It'll get me ready to eat the pepper." She smiled and looked at him, "Is it true that the seeds are the spiciest part?"
He nodded "yeah the seeds and the core." He searched it on his phone and showed it to her "have fun with that."
"I'm going to try to just eat it in one bite," She said, looking at his phone with a small nod, "I'm ready to try it, as soon as I get a a gallon of milk just in case." She leaned back on her chair and looked around with a excited smile.
He looked up at her in worry "1 gallons not going to cut it," he smiled "desert?" He asked
She chuckled and shrugged "I mean, I'm not going to say no to desert, but it's up to you." She said, smiling "A gallon of milk isn't going to be enough?"
he shrugged "It wouldn't be enough for me, maybe for you." he nodded and order the chocolate lava cake from Lindsey "My all-time favorite," he told her "literally to die for and then come back to life."
"I don't doubt it, just the name makes it sound amazing." She glanced at him, "So, where can you get ghost peppers? Do they sell them in stores?" She looked at the table and pulled out her wallet, leaving it in her lap for later.
"you make it sound like a drug deal," he shook his head smiled "no I have a friend who does these world record things," He glanced at the wallet "no need for paying for it, Lindsey owes me for a bet we made a while back."
She laughed lightly, "Yup, it's deffinetly a drug deal." She said sarcastically, fiddling with the edge of her wallet, "You sure? I don't mind paying."
He shook his head "no, me and Lindsey made a deal, if I brought a girl before she did to the restaurant, she'd owe me a free dinner." he said glancing up at Lindsey as she came by with the cake "right cus?"
She nodded "yep, this ones on me." she winked at them both
"Alright then, happy to help you." She put her wallet away and looked at the cake, a small grin on her face, "That looks absolutely amazing."
"Made it myself," Lindsey said as she walked away
He smiled and took a bite "definitely the best." he said with a small groan of content
"That's really good," she said, smiling happily as she took a bite, "You deffinetly know good deserts." She took another bite and nodded.
"It's the only thing she'll let me eat of the dessert menu," he said with a laugh "that'll be the last thing you taste for days."
She laughed lightly, "Is there a reason she won't let you eat anything else off the menu?" She asked, continuing to eat the cake.
He shrugged "no Idea, every time I try to order something else, she'll bring me the cake." he said taking abite
"Maybe she knows that it's your favorite," Scarlett said with a shrug, "It tastes amazing so I'm not going to question why she does it."
