"I'm sorry I dragged you into this…." he murmured back, wanting to hold her more than anything else in the world.
"I'm sorry I dragged you into this…." he murmured back, wanting to hold her more than anything else in the world.
She pulled her hair loose from the ribbon. "It's my fault," Edonine replied mutely, "I pay the consequences, for… being like.. this…"
Pierre shook his head firmly, horrified that she would say something like that. "No," he said firmly, "It will never be your fault."
"Would you follow me if I quit?" She asked.
"I just.. don't know if I'll be a good father…" he feared.
She got up and walked over to him, gently massaging his shoulders. "You will be."
Ooo, i got an ideaaa
Its a surprise tho)
"I can't sleep," he laughed. "Can I get you anything..?"
"Would you follow me if I quit?" She asked.
Pierre masked his hesitation with a slow exhale. "I will follow you after Louis is safe and no longer held captive by the British."
"So if I go, you would stay," Edonine spoke rather bluntly. Yes, she was still hurting, afraid, and it made her harsher than the warm, determined woman he came to love.
Pierre swallowed. "I will always follow you, Edonine, even if it takes a little time."
She looked away. "…okay." the woman relented, realizing she had spoken a little harshly.
"I'm sorry…." he whispered, "I don't ever want to chose between the love of my life and one of my best friends. But this way, I'm choosing you both, don't you see? I'll join you when I know he's either… dead… or safe."
"Okay." She whispered, eyes falling down.
Skip?
Ooo, maybe some Bailey n bros?)
(sure!)
~~~
Bailey was sitting at the desk, reading glasses perched on his nose while he flipped through George's finances. A man for numbers as he was, he found it a productive pasttime to take over this aspect of George's life. It made him feel comfortable.
As George passed by the room, he caught sight of his lover. A smile crossed his features as he slipped inside, placing a hand on the other man's shoulder.
He lifted his face, "Hm…?"
"What're you doing?" he asked softly.
"Your finances." Bailey replied, pulling off the glasses. "I'm a few steps away from a job of my own, finally. As a tailor's assistant,"
"That's fantastic," George murmured earnestly, pressing a lingering kiss to Bailey's temple. "And thank you, Bailey.."
He closed his eyes for a moment. "I owe you thanks than you owe I.." Bailey insisted, as usual.
"You owe me nothing," he answered, "Except for a kiss, because I really do want a kiss as of right now."
He relented gladly, offering himself up to George.
George smiled against his lovers lips, leaning closer.
Meanwhile, he set down the papers, gently enough as not to disrupt.
When he finally pulled away, George released a soft exhale. "How are you?"
