"Jane.." he sang back lovingly.
"Jane.." he sang back lovingly.
"I love you," she cooed.
"I love you too…" He purred.
She smiled and kissed his hair.
Skip?
(Chadine's gift?)
Sure!
Jane fretted over the gift one last time. "Does it look alright? Maybe if… No…"
"Jane, it's fine," John slipped his arms around her from behind. Since yesterday's heavy mood, he'd been substantially affectionate, more than usual. "It's perfect, like you,"
A small rosy tinge appeared on her cheeks. "Does it really look fine?"
"Yes." John reassured lovingly.
"Alright. Let's give it to Chadine now. I can't wait another minute!" she insisted.
"Alright.." John chuckled, fixing his coat cuffs.
Jane picked up the basket and went through the house, looking for Chadine. She pulled John along with her.
She could hear Chadine whistling from the kitchen, where she was cleaning the dishes from the last meal.
Jane opened the door. "Chadine? Are you busy?"
"I can take a break," She replied, drying her hands on a rag.
Jane couldn't hide her smile. "Wonderful!"
"What's got you so bubbly?" Chadine grinned.
"Since you've done so much for us, we got you a present," she explained happily, holding the basket out to her.
Chadine blinked. "Oh," she breathed. "Oh, miss, I… I dunno what to say.."
Jane smiled proudly up at John.
John held a broad smile.
She took the gift, "You didn't spend much on this did you?" She laughed.
"Don't worry about how much it cost," Jane said kindly.
She tentatively began to open the gift, biting her lip.
