Drake frowned at the accurate description, the back of his mind still wishing for normalcy, for Peter not to be a crazed sadist. “Alright, well, it doesn’t change the fact that I need to get to the police right now, and I don’t think you’ll want to go to a police station as you are,” Drake eyed the man’s fur for a second, and kept walking.
"Well, I can change that. Yet I don't want you to be scared…." He placed one leaf under a pebble to keep it from blowing away or something, and he placed the remaining one on his head. I know this looks silly, but it's how it's done. Youichi concentrated and soon became a human being, the one he mimicked both times beforehand. "May I come with you?"
“I-“ Drake looked the guy over, furrowing his brow a little bit. It was strange, but having telepathy for his whole life, he didn’t question it, “Okay. But what’s your name?” Drake kept a brisk pace, a part of him wanting to get as far away from Peter’s building as possible.
"The name's Youichi." He said, following him briskly. It was nice not being dragged back by nine different tails… "And I don't think I caught your name either." Sorry, Mamoru…. I have to see what this guy's up to…
“Drake Blike,” He replied, eyeing Youichi up and down again before taking a deep breath, “So you’re… you’re an animal person?” Drake had to admit, he kind of wanted to touch the man, just to get a peek at his thoughts and make sure he wasn’t some creation of Peter on the loose. To make sure he wasn’t being targeted.
"In basic terms, yes…" He didn't really like having the word 'human' in their name, since they were at a discourse for centuries. But… We gaves ourselves that name…. Youichi just shook it off and kept following Drake wherever he was going.
Drake first stopped at a phone booth, stepping inside after telling Youichi, “I’m calling the police.” He inserted coins into the machine, dialing the number quickly. He explained to the receiver what he had found in Peter’s office, and claiming that he had seen a tortured man- even though he’d only seen through Peter’s mind. He added that he had a bloody shirt as evidence.
Meanwhile…
Peter took a step away from Rigel, admiring his work as he zipped up his pants with a smirk. Rigel looked hollow, and Peter smiled even more. He had broken his knees, scattered cuts all over the guy’s chest, and left streaks of red with the fingernail marks raking Rigel’s body. “I’ll have one of the my employees come in and take care of you, that way we can have more fun tomorrow.” Peter turned and walked out of the room, ushering at one of his employees. She was a sweet girl, a blank slate. Peter had found her years ago- she had healing abilities like no other. An abomination, of course, so Peter took it upon himself to make sure she wouldn’t roam free. She entered Rigel room like a wraith, and Peter made his way to the fox girl’s room, a cold look on his face as he entered. “It seems I need to talk to you,” He began as the door closed behind him.
…
Rigel couldn’t pick his head up as another entered. He felt a towel graciously draped over his too naked body, relief washing through him when he realized it wasn’t Peter. He managed to lift his head a little bit to see a girl, gingerly setting down vials of salves and disinfectants on the floor before picking up a bottle, going to work on healing Rigel’s broken body.
Kohaku looked up, and she growled. She couldn't speak, so she didn't bother. What does he want? With me??? She pulled her lips up and snarled, her snout becoming hot and sticky with swear from wearing that disgusted muzzle on her face.
(Meanwhile….)
Youichi waited outside the phone booth for Drake as he made the important phone call. He looked around the city, admiring the view, although it constantly reeked of vehicle exhaust. I never really liked urban areas…. He frowned a bit, having a seat on a bench next to the booth.
Peter stalked forward, using his slender fingers to unclip the muzzle with a few quick motions before pulling out of her biting range. “What do you mean to my Rigel?” He asked coldly.
Drake finished with his phone call, “Police are on their way, they said someone would meet up here.” He told Youichi, swallowing a lump in his throat. What’s happening right now up there…?
Kohaku breathed heavily, a eace of coldness touching her snout. She was scared to answer, afraid of what he might do to her if he either told the truth or lied. He means everything…. I love him…. He's the beacon of light in the darkness….
"He's family to me…" She blurted with just the slightest of thought.
(Meanwhile…)
Youichi nodded. "That doesn't sound too bad… At least they'll be here somewhat quickly…." I hope…. But why meet here when…? He twiddled his fingers, afraid of what Mamoru was up to. He was stuck on the roof of the tower, and probably angry.
“You mishear me,” Peter told her, “What do you mean to Rigel?” One second, he had been standing a good distance away from Kohaku. The next, he slapped the fox girl with immense force. “Why are you so important to him?” He demanded angrily.
Kohaku knew she said the wrong answer, and she cried at the stinging of the slap. She growled yet whimpered at the same time– she wasn't sure how to feel. But to be truthful, she had no idea what she meant to him.
Yet she said it anyway. "I love him…. And he loves me….." She had no idea what he was going to do, but it was no use in lying. "He comes to me for comfort after you abuse and beat him to near death!!!" She snapped wildly, making sure not to accidentally shoot a lick of fire– she could for sure die from that.
“He doesn’t love you!” Peter bellowed, anger alight in his eyes, “He’s mine!” He roared, slammed Kohaku back against the wall. One breath, he was was so close to killing Kohaku. The next, he backed away, his face made of stone and his voice quieter, “You are going to do something for me, and I will set you free.”
Kohaku's chest felt crushed from his force, but she still breathed strong. Although she did appeal to being set free, she didn't want to walk out with Rigel absent from her side. "He always told me how you burned him…." She snarled, ears twitching erratically. I was even there…
“I don’t have to set you free in the end. I could just kill you. Either way, you will be doing something for me.” Peter told her, face plain. Bored, even. As if this wasn’t entertaining.
Drake was getting impatient waiting there, but finally a cop car pulled up. “Ay, you the kid that called us? Is that yer evidence?” The cop gestured down at the bloodied shirt. Drake nodded, and the cop told them they could get in, and they would ride back to the building because they’d need to answer some questions since he was a witness. Drake glanced at Youichi, but got in the cop car anyways. I don’t really want to go back there…
Kohaku just glared at him, wishing he knew what it was like to be Rigel for once– for at least one second. Love can only work if it's mutual, She thought to herself, still growling at him.
Youichi got in the car with Drake and they drove back to the tower. He said nothing, and he writhed his hands together. "I really need to get back to Mamoru…. He's probably so angry…." He murmured to himself.
“Now listen carefully. You are going to tell my songbird you are disgusted with him. Then you are going to light him on fire for me.” Peter gave her a cruel smile, “Or else… I will light Rigel on fire. And I will have no mercy.” Peter waved a hand idly in the air, laying out the cards to his deal, “So after that I will let you go, or kill you- you’re choice. And if you do as I say, I will even give Rigel a day off, from my play.”
It was like she had no choice but to either make him suffer or watch him suffer. "Fine… I-I-I can…. I can't…" She began to stutter. How does he know??? He never saw… He was never told… "…Never." She growled. "I'd never hurt Rigel." Her heart began to pound as she tip-toed around a land mine, ready to blow her to pieces. "…Do whatever you'd like… But I'd never hurt him…"
“Looks like your love for him is stronger than his love for you,” Peter smirked, turning on his heel but paused at the door, “I hope you enjoy this room. I might just forget to stop by and let you out before I leave with my songbird and employees.” Then Peter slipped out of the room with a scowl.
Kohaku was more than angry. “But at least I know his love for me is stronger than his love you!!!” She barked, grabbing at the chains furiously. Just for one moment she wanted him to know what it was like to be abused by someone his own size.
Her arms suddenly swung down with the cuffs still around her wrists, with a small link of broken chain left on it.
The cuffs may have been strong, but the chains were extremely weak to heat. I don’t understand why I didn’t do that earlier…..
(If you don’t want her to be free I can change it..)
(@Peter:
)
Peter’s nostrils flared with anger, but he was already rushing out the door and slamming it behind him (not locking it). Then he was in Rigel’s room again, his employee finishing fixing up Rigel’s knees. Peter shoved the girl aside, pulling out his dagger and grabbing his songbird by the hair, pulling him onto his feet even though his left knee wasn’t fully healed yet.
(I dunno what I'm supposed to do with that information….)
Kohaku's fists clenched tight, her claws nearly piercing her own palm. He's gonna pay for what he did to Rigel… No matter what happens to me, I want justice… She kicked down the door, a foot print seared on the front. It banged open, and she roared wildly, not giving a heck in the world if she was wanted dead by him.
Rigel let out a sharp gasp of pain as Peter forced him to his feet. His shaky hands attempted to keep the towel draped over him again, but he just felt so pathetic. He could barely move without feeling pain, and Peter was probably only going to do worse to him.
Kohaku stamped into Rigel's room, leaving black footprints behind her. She pulled and tugged at the door– she was almost sure she was going completely feral, even forgetting who was in there. "You bastard!!!!" She barked, a lick of fire barely and unnoticeably escaping her throat. "Come out here so I can fight you!!!!"
Rigel flinched, but Peter was already at work. He unclipped the chains around Rigel. Then Peter forced him to to walk to the door, almost falling but the sadistic man held him up by his neck. The only comfort was the towel around him that hid his body from the world, but that was it. Especially when Peter forced him to open the door, and used him as a meat shield.
