@Oakiin

"I guess," Kiger said. "I bet that's tough, having everyone think you're schizo when you're really not. Boss, my friend, he said he didn't want everyone feeling sorry for him or scared of him all the time. Is it like that for you?"

@saor_illust school

"I… I just want to be normal," Amber sighed. Why was it so hard for everyone to believe that she was normal? These voices she heard, they were real, she was sure of it. But second-guessing herself, what if they weren't real? What if they were right, she did have schizophrenia? What if she really was talking to herself?

@Oakiin

"I don't think being normal is all that great," Kiger said with a shrug. "I mean, if you do, i'm not here to invalidate that, but I'd rather see things that aren't there. At least then I know who I am. I don't have to doubt myself. What other people say doesn't matter so much to me, not anymore anyways. I know what I'm seeing, and that's all that matters anymore."

@saor_illust school

"But… I constantly feel like there's something wrong with me, that maybe because I hear voices, there must be some condition I suffer from. Sometimes I wonder if I'm just hearing the echoes of my subconscious," Amber looked down, and sighed again. She seemed to be doing a lot of sighing lately.

@Oakiin

(sorry, I keep being sooo late, we're just super busy TwT I promise I'm not abandoning this at all I'm super hyped for it ^^)

"Well, for what it's worth, I'm real," he said, offering a grin he realized a little late she wouldn't see.
"Hey, can I touch you? Just so you can see me, too. It feels a little unfair that I can do both."

@saor_illust school

(No it's totally fine!)
"Yeah okay… just… try to warn me when you're doing it. Last time it was really sudden, and you scared me," Amber bit her lip, nervous. Maybe she should close her eyes so it wasn't surprising? She closed her eyes, and waited for Kiger's touch.

@Oakiin

(hhhh thank-youuu TwT)
Kiger wined. "Yeah, sorry about that. Okay, I'm gonna grab your hand, alright? In three, two, one…"
He reached out and tentatively took her hand, crossing his fingers behind his back. "Can…can you see me?"

@saor_illust school

(No problem! I totally understand! I love this amazing community of people, and I try to get on when I can, but sometimes, all I have time for is one rp or thread, or I'm just in a mood where I'm anxious and I'll just be trying to get a response back from someone, or new activity in a thread.)

The faint outline of a male appeared, getting stronger by every second. She flinched back, still not expecting it to be so sudden, but relaxed as her brain immediately recognized the shape as Kiger. "Y-yeah…" she stumbled. This whole thing was still so new to her.

@Oakiin

(Yes, I feel that immensely xDD I think it's most important to take the time for yourself above all else ^^ Otherwise you just burn out and quit everything xD)

"Hi!" he said cheerfully when he saw her focus on him. "Kiger. I guess we already met, but, uh…this makes it official?" He offered her a smile, secretly thrilled that this was working so well. He was elated to finally be talking to one of the (not) angels he'd seen his whole life.

@saor_illust school

(Heh. One of the (not) angels That's hilarious, tbh)
(And yeah, so true)
"Um, sure, I guess," Amber replied, looking up at Kiger. "Did you have anything in mind? Now you've met me, what else?"

@Oakiin

(Thanks! xDD)
(^^)
Kiger thought about that for a second, and drew a big blank. "Nope, I guess not," he said with a sigh. "I feel like there's a grand adventure to be had here, but I'm not sure how or where to start."
He laughed a little to himself. "Books make it seem so easy. Do…you have any ideas?"

@Oakiin

"Well, cause it has to be, right?" he asked. "This kind of stuff doesn't just happen, there's got to be some reason, or something that will help us figure this out. Maybe it's just wishful thinking though."

@saor_illust school

"I'm not so sure it's an adventure, but I see your point," Amber replied. "I'm leaning towards more of a 'perhaps it's more of a mystery,' type opinion."

@Oakiin

"Ooh I like that even better," he enthused, getting into the mood right and proper by now. 'You're right, it's much more of a mystery. We need to figure out how we can see and hear each other. Uhh…I don't suppose you have any ideas?" he asked with a grin.

@saor_illust school

"No, not really. Maybe it's one of those parallel worlds thing or something," Amber suggested. "But I want to hear about your world first. You guys wouldn't happen to have one of those sky museums, would you? Sometimes they're called cloud museums…"

@saor_illust school

"You sure? They're the ones up in the sky? Museums? We have ones on the ground too, just the ones in the sky are pricier," Amber explained. After a beat, she added, "And fancier, I've never been to one before, my mum has, though. She's lucky, I want to go to one one day."

@Oakiin

"Nope, never heard of that." He pondered. "We do have ones on the ground, but none in the sky. Sounds really awesome though. I mean we don't have wings, so we couldn't really get up to them. What kind of museums are they in the air?"

@saor_illust school

"Yeah you could," Amber paused for a second to rethink what she was going to say. Then she continued, "Ladders, of course! And oof, you guys are missing out, the ones in the sky are the best! The floors are see-through, so it's almost as if you're walking on air!" she laughed, remembering the stories her mom used to tell her about the sky museums.

@Oakiin

"Aww, you're making me jealous!" Kiger complained. "I wanna have one of those in my world! What else do you guys have?"
He was genuinely thrilled to learn more about her culture. His imagination was running wild, picturing all the amazing things she must see in a daily basis. There was another part of him that was desperately casting about for anything in his world that could seem so marvelous to her as her world did to him. So far, he was drawing a big blank.

@saor_illust school

"Um…" Amber thought for a moment, trying to bring up anything fascinating, but, as much as she hated to admit it, her world really wasn't that much different from his. That was the only big thing she could think of, but perhaps Kiger at least had a better healthcare system then they did? "A terrible healthcare system," she finally said, grimacing as she did.

@Oakiin

"HA!" he crowed, victorious, then faltered. "Well…uh…actually about that. I think ours is pretty sucky, truth be told. But hey, we can share in that. What about special powers? Can you guys do anything other than fly? What's it like to fly? I've always wished I could, especially after watching you guys up there." He looked dreamily up at the sky, lifting his hand to frame the stars.

@saor_illust school

"Not really, our world is pretty normal. My mom wants to go to college after I graduate," Amber replied. "But it's fun to fly, it's pretty much our normal way of transportation."

@Oakiin

Kiger sighed. "You're so lucky. My world is awful. Our government is corrupt, there's a stupid war ruining everything, and the planet's dying. Nothing's right here."
