“A week of being constantly, or close to constantly, together yeah,” Alexa had thought about hiding her grin but chose to let it slip onto her face.
“A week of being constantly, or close to constantly, together yeah,” Alexa had thought about hiding her grin but chose to let it slip onto her face.
"It's been pure torture," he said, not seeing her grin. Then he glanced at her, and was startled, and pleased, to see the smile. She actually looked quite pretty when she smiled… he shook his head to clear the thought.
“Hell on earth,” Alexa continued on. She brushed her hair away from her face as it kept falling in front of her eyes. Though that didn’t stop her from seeing the surprise on his face, “What? Surprised to see me smile?”
"Very much so," he said, honestly. "Why would you smile around me? I'm an asshole. We hate each other."
"Because I'm enjoying a conversation," Alexa responded exaggerating each of her words, "Besides I never wanted to hate you. You and me just have a tendency to push each others buttons."
"Which we are very good at." He grinned. "I have an idea. Let's try to be civil for one day, see how hard it is."
Alexa grinned back at him, "Deal. Do we have a few more hours of assholery or are we starting now?"
"A few more hours." He was surprised that she was for the idea, and also a little bit pleased. He didn't know why he had said that, but hey, you only live once. "I have a bit more assholery left to do before it's stopped."
"So do I," Alexa responded. She waited until the car was stopped before she held out a hand to him, "We have a deal?"
"We have a deal," he confirmed, shaking her hand, before smirking. "Shorty."
"Arse," Alex shot back after hearing the shorty comment, "And good."
Arsen raised an eyebrow. "Real creative insult, hon." He grinned at her, less malice behind his words than he would normally have had. He moved toward the hotel building, not looking to see if she was following.
"Neither was shorty but you don't hear me complaining," Alexa responded following him out into their hotel. She shrugged, "Go for the low hanging fruit and I will too."
"You were just complaining. It was subtle, but it was complaining."
"Yeah, I was," Alexa admitted with a grin, "But I'm glad you caught on."
"I'm not stupid," Arsen said, grinning. "An asshole, yes, but not stupid."
"At least you admit your an asshole," Alexa gave him a sly grin before it returned back to her normal one, "I didn't think you were stupid anyways."
"Good," he said, tone satisfied. "Just getting that out of the way." He ran a hand through his hair, fished his keys from his pocket, and unlocked the hotel room door.
Alexa nodded along and waited beside him, "I hoped as much. I make act like your stupid, but only because you act like it sometimes."
He shrugged. "What can I say? It's an art."
"It really is," Alexa shrugged and stepped in once the door had opened up. She plopped herself on top of the counter making them roughly the same height, her just slightly taller if anything, "I still don't know how you do it."
"Magic. And pure talent." He shrugged and moved to the refrigerator, looking for something to eat. "I have an abundance of those."
"Sure you do," Alexa responded rolling her eyes just ever so slightly, "I would argue on the talent bit."
"Well, of course you would," Arsen, turning and sending her a smirk. "But other people of your sex would disagree."
"God I know," Alexa responded throwing her head back slightly just to be a tad overdramatic before looking at him again, "All I heard amongst the girls was Arsen this, Arsen that, o'h my god Arsen has the cutest ass here.' It was sickening."
